Hi guys... my n7 wifi wouldn't connect. It says "obtaining ip address" and just stucks there... all other device work fine with my home wifi((( it does connecet to other networks though((( maybe i need to set something for this particular wifi spot? help please!
Make sure you don't have MAC filtering enabled, if you do, disable it, let it connect, grab the MAC address of your device, add it to whitelist, re-enable filtering, save config, and reboot router if needed.
If not MAC filtering is enabled, reboot router and try again, if still failed, post what model your router is.
Did it stop working randomly? Did you flash a new Rom, and then it stopped working?

There is a chance that the problem lies here. Did you do a clean flash by wiping everything before you flashed CM? Sometimes, if you dirty flash, it will work. But most of the time, you have to wipe data and cache when switching between AOSP and CM.

Just rooted my 2.2 OTA today, guess i m pretty much a n00b for new ROMs and etc. Anyway, I flashed the current CM6.0(including, kernal + google addons). After boot successfully, i found there is one issue with my evo, i cannot connect to my home wireless network(no password issue). Status(showing in the menu option) repeats "scanning ---> connecting ---> authorizing --> disconnecting", and in WiFi network option, it says "disabled, secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK".
Anyone can help me out? Thank you...
Based on what you said, it is a password/authorization issue. Triple-check your password, and if you still can't figure it out, hop on #CyanogenMod on Freenode, or open a ticket in the Issue Tracker.
If you can't Google/Search enough to figure out what the Issue Tracker or Freenode are, then I'm sorry, but Android is not the OS for you.

I am having a similar issue (CM 6.0 final). In my case I get "scanning ---> connecting ---> disconnected".
I was working properly with 2.1 and 2.2 (HTC). I reseted the router and also tried open network. The rest of my wireless devices can connect to the router; only my EVO cannot.

Hey guys,
I tried searching and could not find a similar problem.
Since getting the new rom I have noticed that my wireless router has been experiencing connection issues. all my devices show connectivity but i dont have access to the net. Anyways i decided to have a look and the android is creating multiple Ip entries on the router with the same mac address and everytime I turn the wifi off on my phone the problem does not occur.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Have you tried going into development settings and turning of Android Debugging or ADB over network? Just a suggestion, not sure if it will work.

nah cant be that, I had them turned off already.
Thanks for replying anyway. I searched google and its a pretty common problem with no concrete solution, might need to flash the rom again.

Why don't you try binding the MAC Address to a static IP so it's no longer able to create multiple entries on the DHCP Table?
tjturko13 - have you tested to use another standard 802.11 Modus - instead "n"? Just switch it at your phone or router.
What router do you have? Can you update the firmware? ^^

i dont think my router allows this, the only option I have is to specify if I want to allow mac filtering.

Did you get your new rom over the air? (Stock rom)
Or did you flash a custom rom?
You have to give us more software informations about your rom. Is your device s-on or s-off?
Stock rom you need the right RUU exe file. Just doubleclick - yes yes yes
Custom rom you need to download the custom boot.img.

I'm sorry for you.
- You could even try to change the wifi-channel to 1, 4 or 6 and disable wifi-security in the second attempt for test only.
- Try also to set a static ip in your phone (for your wlan).
- If you are bored you can reset the whole router to its factory defaults and leave all standard. Just enable wlan (and the isp connection) - but dont change the default ssid, wlan-security or channel etc.
Otherwise I have no more ideas.
With google you can find dozens of users crashing their routers with android or ios phones . Good luck dude!

Ive had this problem to since switching to 'randomblame's kernel based ROMS (jellytime CM, jellytime aokp and jellytime by PACMAN - Paranoid, CM and AOKP).
Apparently it is a kernel issue and the only thing you can do is some of the things above or here
I was here hoping there might be a fix... I tried static IP, changing the router channel, WIFI never sleep etc etc etc.
The only workaround I found so far was to turn off wifi when Im done, it only seems to break when the phone is inactive for 5 minutes +.

Exact same problem here. It took some time before I figured out that my phone was overwriting my gateway's MAC address, but I finally saw that message from another machine in my network:
Code:
arp info overwritten for 192.168.1.254 by 91:31:58:5d:e8:34
1.254 being my gateway's IP. I also tried giving my phone a static DHCP entry but it just didn't change anything. Any useful sysctl maybe ?
FWIW, it seems I "fixed" that issue by making my routers MAC address association permanent on my (manageable) switch. That obviously don't fix the real problem, but does not shut down the router's NIC. FYI, on a GNU/Linux machine, this is done with the arp command, i.e.:
Code:
# arp -s 192.168.1.254 00:ca:fe:ba:be:00
192.168.1.254 being your router's IP
HTH
i am runing FXP130-cm-9-20120720-UNOFFICIAL-anzu on my LT18i, but ever since i installed it it wont connect to any wifi network...
it says its acquiring ip adress about 20 times and then says it abandoned the network cause of poor internet connection even though im standing next to the router... and it does that no matter which wifi i try to connect...
anyone knows maybe how to solve this problem pls...?

any suggestions?
just delete dhcp list and reboot phone
use root browser lite from google market, navigate to root: /data/misc/, delete dhcp folder, reboot phone.
omg, tnx so much for the info!!!
worked like a charm!
finally i got wifi back!
i'm going to borrow this thread, i have wifi problem too, yesterday i got connected to cable network, so now my router setting are on automatic dhcp-for cable, before was pppoe and that worked great, now on that dhcp can't get wifi to work, i can find my network and connect to it, but it's no internet. on the same rom and everything i got wifi working no problem, so the only problem here is that dhcp.
edit: my sister is having the same problem on samsung s8500 running bada and before network change he can connect to wifi with no problem, not it's the same as for me.
any ideas?

You should install the WiFi modules, that can be downloaded from same place as the ROM itself.

Hello guys, a year ago I tried root my phone and got bricked. After 2 weeks I finally fixed and came back to the stock rom. Since that day my WiFi is not connecting.
I'm able to search and find any network, but when insert the password, the phone try to connect, the signal go down, the message "connecting" appear, and after that appear as "saved" but not connected. I already tried to define a static IP address, but didn't work.
Can I broke the wifi firmware when tried to root for the first time?
Someone have an idea on what is going on?

Follow the unbrick guide method 2. Make sure you follow it right.. Don't skip any parts because it doesn't work. Don't see how you bricked the phone by flashing SuperSU but okay..

No I ve used several different hotspots to connect. The strange thing is that mobile data are working.
hmmm take a look at this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/radio-modem-collection-flashable-zips-t3468628
If that doesn't work try to flash ex kernel if i remember it correctly it changes something with wifi to.
If that doesn't work then It's broken or you can fix it by doing something else but dont know what, Good luck
Hi Guys,
Noticed today that my WIFI won't turn on. You can try, it attempts it - but ultimately, it goes to the off motion again.
I've tried going to the following and backing up the WPA Supplicant file, but still the same. data/misc/wifi/
I'm using the ROM MIUI 9 from Xiaomi.eu v. 7.10.26 - Rooted.
It's worth pointing out WIFI has been running fine on this since I installed it (5-6 weeks ago).
EDIT: Just checked, and the WIFI Mac is 02:00:00:00.00.00 Will look into this, not sure how its happened as I didn't change a thing!
Thanks!
EDIT:
So I restored from To October 15th, wifi works. Go figure... What settings do I need to take from that to the current version? Or just easier to update to a different ROM?
Just to add to this, I done the OTA and that fixed the issue. No idea what caused it...
I just get the same bug with WIFI MAC address 02:00:00:00.00.00

Good job it's fixed! Interestingly, did your phone battery go in low power saving mode prior to it occurring? I seem to remember that being so. Can't say for certain.

Hello, hello I need your help in a matter. I have 2 devices in my hand. Imei had to be discarded. After installing twrp and magisk, I deleted modemst1 modemst2 fsg partitions from pc while in twrp to remove IMEI from qpst. Whatever happened after that, wifi does not turn on when partitions are deleted match address was 000000. I did not take backup. I open the device with rooted diag but says qpst no phone connected. He sees the port but does not recognize the device. I can't write in Qcn. Fastboot rom, I installed custom rom did not recover. What should we do?
