Hi,
I have Virtuous v0.6.0 ROM and video recording isn't working. It's sound recording issue - recording video without sound works.
On that ROM there is modified HTC app from Desire Z, which uses another audio codec than plain Android app from G2, which could probably work.
I tried to extract this app from G2 ROM, but I don't know how to do it.
Could someone extract video recorder app from G2 ROM (or phone running that ROM) and post it here?
Thanks.
Hello, I'm running the meXdroid ROM on my DZ, and I don't really like the camera app on that. Could anyone suggest a third party video recorder app? Being able to record video with no audio is critical to me, as is touch to focus (not so important the latter). I've tried searching Market and XDA but came up short ):
Thank you~

For your 1st and 3rd problems, there is a camera mod which you can flash. Not sure about the 2nd problem though.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
What's really odd is when I move the movies that I recorded
The computer playin them with sound..
Hi,
Could anyone pleeeez tell me how to "PAUSE" a video while I am recording it from cam coder and continue recording right from where I paused?
I couldn't find a 'pause' button in the cam-coder of android. I have a HTC Wildfire S (unlocked boot loader) and have tried many custom roms but couldn't find the pausing option while recording.
Could anyone help me with this ??? or suggest me an app from play store??
It will be really helpful for me..
PS: :
I already know that video can be recorded as different clips and then can be joined using some video editing s/w .:silly:
Thank You in advance.
Hey guys,
anyone else experienced bad video sound quality? I found out, that the phone saves videos with 96kbps sound, wich is an explanation why the sound is that bad. But can we do anything against it?

I too am experiencing this issue. Not sure if a fix currently exists. On another note, when I purchased this phone i was hoping for more development support! It may still be early, but not too impressed so far!!
I also just got bitten by this crappy audio when recording videos. It absolutely sucks! Will using a different camera app fix it?

I dont think so as I am already using cam mod.
There must be some audio postprocessing going on. When I record audio with an app (Easy voice recoreder) and choose microphone "Main (unprocessed)" the sound is good. If I choose just microphone "Main" the recording is very bad (the same distorted sound I get in video recordings). So the phone can record good audio. The question is how to record unprocessed sound in video.
The bitrate is 96kbps with no way to change.
I have logged a bug here:

"So I've found a solution, or at least a temporary one
Get the camera app called Lgcamera. In this app you can manually set your audio settings.
Set it to AAC and set the stereo option to On (this did it for me atleast).

I made a little video about it since I couldn't find this solution before, hope it helps!

soo.... to answer to myself it does not work, the audio quality is still 96kbps, I had an idea to record audio separately.
if you start recording only audio with an app like "easy audio recorder" and then you go to the video app and record. the recording audio app won't stop recording its quality is gonna change to 96kbps (bad)
EDIT: yeah, it sucks, only xiaomi can fix it.
I have found a trick to record good audio see my post below.
