I just want a little info about the network signal that displays in the notification bar. My phone mobile network setting is on GSM/WCDMA auto. Normally in phone info it says that the network type is on HSDPA. Today i noticed that i lost all signal bars and the network type says UMTS.
Does the lost of all signal bars mean that i have no more 3G and have reverted to the next lowest network mode but can still receive/make a call (i didn't test it) or simply does the signal graph scale with the current network mode or is it global?
Signal strength was at -101 dbm, i change network mode to GSM only, i got all my signal bars and strength was at -79 dbm

Help please!!!! I recently had my digitizer replaced after it was broken from a hard impact. When I went to put my simcard in the phone and fire it up when I noticed that I was not receiving any signal whatsoever. All I got was a Do Not Enter icon in the top right corner. I know my simcard worked because after I flashed about a half dozen different Roms it asked me for a simcard but still showed no network. I took it apart to see if the repair guy had missed a ribbon but everything seemed to be ok. My imei is still intact. Signal strength is -113dBm 0 asu, Mobile Network Type is unknown, Service State is out of service. Mobile Network state is disconnected. Bluetooth and Wifi both work fine. I have tried everything software related that I could find and nothing seems to work. I am on a stock Bell rom that I updated to the MF1. My APN looks like it is right, Network mode is set to auto, but it cant find any networks. Is this a hardware issue? I sure hope not. Please any insight would be fantastic.
Hello! I'm sorry if this problem has been answered already. I searched but couldn't find any like this.
I have a TMobile note 2, whenever I'm at home it has no problem connecting to 3g/4g/lte but whenever I'm in my college town where tmobile barely has Edge it can't connect to network. If I restart it multiple times it will connect for few seconds then disconnect. Wifi calling works. When I look for network operators it only detects AT&T. I've tried the same sim in a galaxy s3 and a nexus 4 and both connected and showed Edge. My IMEI hasn't changed AFAIK (starts with 3435) and my phone number shows up in the in status.
In mobile network, it says unknown, mobile network type Unknown. Current signal strength is -85 dBm 14 asu . mobile network state is disconnected.
I had the stock rom and it was unrooted. After the problem I rooted it and installed the jedi rom X and then jedimaster, but the result was the same. I have signal sporadically in town where other phones have no issue connecting. I'm hoping it's a software problem as I don't have warranty anymore. Any help suggestions will be highly appreciated.

With your forum I decided to own this magnificent Note 10.1 2014 SM-P601, I am the 1st customer of this product in my city !
After installing couples of apps I got Signal strength icon on top right in notification bar. How is that possible? I did not inserted any sim card in this tab & it's showing signal bar. I have have installed some apps but not sure which one made it.
I have attached screen shot of my screen. Please help me out.

Try enabling flight mode. Mine shows the signal bar of the network it was factory locked to.
still its showing signal strength icon..

yes, in flight mode signal strength icon is gone, but after disabling flight mode signal strength icon comes back. Strange thing is that signal icon do fluctuate as if network signal goes weak or strong.
Shall I check by inserting sim into my device?

Now after inserting sim, signal strength icon is same, no change in it. Does fluctuates, becomes blocked after resuming from flight mode for 2-3 sec until it catches network. But now unable to make call.

Try replacing a new sim with your service provider.

It's is new micro sim which I brought last week for this device. It works normal with other mobile.
I think it's problem with registration, either of product or sim.

I have a problem for a couple of weeks with my zenfone2 relative intensity of cell phone signal.
My operator is TIM Italy.
Often the signal, while I'm outside, goes to 1 or 2 bar and even to 0, giving me problems as I speak on the phone.
The network data only it works when it is in 4G/H when it should switch to 3G or Edge does not go for the 99% of the time and often have internet disabled or zero signal bar.
Sometimes, when, for example, I'm in a tunnel with car and the signal goes to zero, I can not more to hang on to the network having 0 bar signal and I have to reboot it 1-2-3 times.
I reset the phone to its original state but I do not think much has changed.
At this time, in my office I view 0 notches, rarely see 2 "connectionless data to the Internet."
The firmware version I have is: LRX21V.WW-ASUS_Z008-2.20.40.88.

Try set cell data to 3G/2G only. Maybe 4G signal is not strong for you. I have almost the same problem but everything is working when I set it to 3G/2G only and not 4G
