But if you look at the actual signal, it stayed the same. I still have -108dB, but "full" bars.
I'm not sure about that because I ran speed tests before and after and it spiked from 18mb down in the middle of the house to 27mb same spot.. And near the window 30+

I have to agree, before the update, I was barely getting hspa+ in my area. Now after the update it's full LTE in the same area.
Thought it was placebo at home the last couple of days but now at work I'm getting a solid 4g signal inside where I used to get no signal at all.

either you are in bad reception area, or you are in a really congested area if you are not being throttled
It's Hard to explain my data works but it doesn't start loading instantly it takes roughly 30 secs to a minute,for the,page to begin to load after it starts loading it does so at 4g speeds

How could this happen!! My phone is a T-Mobile T999 unlocked and working on Jordanian Orange. According to orange they will begin providing 4g in 2015 yet in status bar I see that am connected to 4g. Could the T-Mobile build be exaggerating figures ??

Mine always shows 4g...Although truly I am not always connected to 4g.

Most phones would show H or H+. The T999 was coded to show 4G instead, in keeping with their ad campaign.
If you go into settings, about device, status, under network type itll say UMTS at idle and probably HSPAP when under load.

Recently came from the lg optimus g to this. When I had the G it consistently ran on 4g lte speeds of 15-18 , even saw 21 mbps download ....now on this its rarely above 3/5 bars and hd on youtube takes ages to load...normally id think att docked my speed because im over 5gbs but ive only had this device since sunday and todays the 5th .
Whats going on?

Check your apn settings. If it is set to pta, switch to phone.

My gs3 has been getting bad reception lately. My gf's HTC 1x and my gs3 used to get about the same service inside my house where now I'm getting 1 bar when she gets 4. I've tried everything I can think of to get a better signal. Flashed modems, changed apns, flashed back to stock, tried build prop hacks, nothing helped. Could this be an antenna malfunction? Are there any hardware mods that may help? Maybe something I've looked over. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just turned wifi off and went from none to 2 bars. But with the way my signal goes in and out it could just be coincidence........

You can flash them in twrp or cwm.
Its a hit or miss depending on your phone and area.

Didnt realize they had a new radio. Really wasn't expecting the new radio to help since I tried the rest with no success but it actually fixed my issue I'm getting about the same service as my gf. Thanks alot.

I recently downloaded the probam 4.3.1 t-mobile jellybean custom Rom. Everything is working fine except that I can never get 4g or H+. On stock I was always on 4g and never dropped down to 3g. Also when I had dandroid T-Mobile custom Rom I would be on H+. For some reason probam only allows me to get 3g or occasionally H. I have a Wind Samsung galaxy s3 SGH-T999V.

Download the speedtest.net app from Google play, run it and check the icon in the statusbar, does it switch to H or stay at 3g?

When I ran the speedtest.net it changed to H. Still not the 4g or H+ I'm looking for.
You won't get 4g. That's what T-Mobile roms show regardless of whether you're on H, or H+. Sounds like it's functioning normal to me.

Whoops hit the thanks button.
On custom roms like probam, the phone will switch to 3g if no data is being used and back to H when data is being used.
