lg e980 touch screen freezes while browsing - LG Optimus G Pro

I am currently on stock rom rooted and on Jb 4.1.2 build JZO54K
I am having problems with the touch screen freezing at times when i am browsing. It does seem to be just any specific random. I have had issues with various apps and browsers.
I did a full factory reset. But i dont think i have a recovery so cant clean dalvik cache etc. Should i do this ?
I have also tried a different launcher.
The only fix is. If it freezes i have to shut the screen off and turn it back on and then i can use the rouch screen fine.
Please advise

No one ?

I had this with cm 10.2 but when i went back to stock rom it was perfectly. I think you should flash rom again with lg flash tool.

i am on stock and rooted. contemplating trying CM 11

Installed cm11 and looks like an area near the middle of the screen does not respond to touch at times.
And whole screen freezes and is unresponsive at times too. Until I lock and unlock.
Just sucks just can't afford a new phone. Guess I'll deal with it.

AOSP kernel maybe? I know some (all?) of the stock based ROMs don't flash a kernel. Just a guess, haven't gone from AOSP to stock.
Do you have a nandroid of a touchwhiz rom ? I go back and fourth to cm10 to my stock nandroid backup without issue. Try that.

What kernel did you use?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Kernel was on my mind today since I went from WanamLite to DietICS and suddenly WiFi stopped working. It was because I had flashed the faux123 kernel while on WanamLite and had to reflash it after going to DietICS. Little things I'll eventually get used to!

Yep definitely kernel, would a said so immediately as I had same issue. Always be weary of the kernel u have installed when flashing to new or different rom as many roms dont have a kernel with them. And many custom kernels will cause this issue. U got it figured out anyways so live and learn and keep it in mind for future

[Q] I messed my cwm recovery up >.<

okay long story short: i tried to install cwm touch (recovery-cwm-touch-6.0.1.2-i9300.tar), got a black screen on every recovery boot. installed regular cwm (CF-SGS3-CWM-v5.5-v1.5.tar), got black screen. installed stock recovery, and that worked butI just want my old cwm recovery back that got installed when i rooted it. i also tried to install twrp touch and it got a black screen too. is there some simple fix that i'm missing?
p.s. i am running the october 10th cm10 nightly with leankernel
Odin twrp then use Rom manager for clock work mod.. Worked for me and I was having the same problem

Had a brain dead moment xD I didn't even think of flashing it from rom manager! Duh! Thanks man

Umm just for future reference, never flash something made for the international S3. It can brick your device. It has different hw and a different partition layout.

Is it that difficult to realize you are on custom ROM, sh it can happen, why not wipe and flash stock kdz to rule out your fears of hardware issues.
Sent from my GT-P3100 using Tapatalk
When I was still in stock rom i still had this problem but it doesnt come out so often. So id say yes, its hardware problem right?
Sent from my LG-E975 using xda app-developers app
Well flash stock kdz, wipe. No kernel or mods.
If still happens than yes hardware

Update

Okay my phone been saying I can update it now, which I still haven't done it yet one cos it really not a big file i noticed & two it seems everyone got some issue with it soft bricking the phones... My question is what did the update do? & anyone got the update w/o soft brick & is rooted?

No clue. But if you haven't touched anything in the /system partition (I.e. removing the bloatware, installing 3rd party drivers from apps like viper4android, using xposed, etc etc) then the install should go just fine.

So how do we do this update? Go back to stock & root it but dont flash a custom recovery? This is so much work for that lil update.

Yesh once you do the update without any custom recovery installed, use freegee from the market to get it back

Have you tried it and it worked? I tried it once before after I restored my phone from a soft brick caused by the update, then I ran freegee and it would show the screen where it says the bootloader was unlocked with the LG logo then jump to another screen with just the LG logo and just kept looping in that boot forcing me to do another restore. I don't know if something went wrong and that's why I didn't work

Can not flash a ROM to a friends LG G2! (Sprint) (ZVC)

Hello everyone, I need a little help.
Now I am not new to the rooting ordeal. I have been rooting ever since my old EVO 4G (yes, with those dreaded boot loaders.) My personal phone is running Paranoid Android RC2 (Optimus G) so I know about the standard wiping process for ROMs.
I have successfully rooted my friends G2 (Sprint) and I had TWRP on it, but the TWRP failed to make backups, so now I have Philz Touch (the custom CWM) on it and it backups fine.
My problem is when I try to flash a custom AOSP ROM, the phone only boots to the LG logo. My friend really wants Cyanogenmod on his phone but it refuses to boot. I have searched for an answer but have no idea. This is the first time I have been truly stumped. Other times after some work I figured it out but this one I do not get. Here are all the details:
Sprint LG G2 (LS980)
Kitkat Modem/Update (stock 4.4.2)
Stock ZVC
Rooted by the Autorec.apk. Root works just fine.
Philz touch recovery.
I have even found an AOSP modem you can flash in recovery, but that was no dice. Even messed up the backup on Philz and it wouldn't get past sprint screen until I flashed KK modem.
I have tried many different nightlys/Msnapshots and Mahdi ROM and it won't boot.
Is there something I am missing?
Thanks again for any help guys!
You have to be on ZV8 modem not sure if that's what you meant by aosp modem.

Glad I'm not the only one with this issue, I gave up on trying to install cyanogenmod after numerous failures, luckily there's a ROM out there based on cyanogenmod that will work with all Variants of the LG G2, I think your friend will enjoy this ROM.[emoji4][emoji4][emoji4]

I moved on to houstonns aospa build...couple things were broken in CM11. NFC is broke on aospa for the ls980 but I rarely use it. Battery isn't as good as stock I don't think but its hard to tell because I just moved to a new area and have no WiFi and the LTE is spotty.
also...no need for an old radio with aospa. I'm using the KK radio with this
Even with crappy signal I'm still managing about 5 hours SOT.
