I have I9082 grand
i just want to flash a stock rom
but when i went to download mode i got this message
in red
"current emmc firm version
VHX_21nm_3bitMLC_8GB_p10"
so.. I can flash the rom normal??
what about this message!!!!
That message is of No harm, that is a notice showing the version of your eMMC (embedded Multi-Media Controller) and refers to a package consisting of both flash memory and a flash memory controller integrated on the same silicon die.
This notice started to came up with the latest JB update. No worries.
You can flasb your ROM the way you like.

Hi guys,
I have a problem, hope you guys can help me.
Yesterday, when i put my galaxy on charge (I was watching a video at same time) the screen started blinking and in full screen video's appeared some blue lines :\ What is causing this? its a software or hardware problem? It is not the first time that happens. After this, the screen was blinking a few hours even when rebooted.
I'll be waiting for a reply,
bes regards

My sister had this problem on stock too, it never happened top me because I didn't stay on stock for a long time. However, IIRC I fixed it by using chainfire 3D. Try and tell us the results

Hello, recently(right now) I was eating a soup while watching a video... I know kind of stupid. And, I accidentally dropped my phone into it . So actually nothing happened, everything works fine, except one thing... my phone thinks I have headphones connected all the time when I'm not! The speakers wont work because this, only headphones work when I connect them. Please help me fast!:banghead:
Edit: I took a small wire and started moving it inside the headset port. When I keep it on the right the headset icon dissapears and it goes to speaker mode but as soon as I take it out it goes back . I even tried flashing another rom

Thats a harwareproblem, the best solution i can suggest is to look for a rom (or app) that lets you switch the sounds output between headset and speaker. Something like a widget...

I tried all the apps and none of them worked, and I already flashed another rom but that icon is still there, I don't know what to do, I think it's a problem with the port. Maybe I should take it to the service

Yes everything works, but there is no sound at all unless I plug in my headphones, I'm going to flash stock but I don't know what am I going to tell them there.... and I also have a question. Do I flash the stock rom through Odin?
Edit: on the link you gave me there are 2 stock Tom's for 2.2.1 , which one do I choose?

I am not 100% sure, as I have only installed custom rom so far, but I guess you can install it by Odin, the files seem to be in .rar. Download one and see whats inside them, usually there is a .tar file if it has to be installed by Odin.
Check your phone baseband version and see if it matches one of them, otherwise wait and see what others suggest.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102980
is some thing like that can work ? in case we have some thing like it foe note 2
guys plz reply me !!
It happens when you use exynos abuse. You can uncheck it again and your camera will work again. Flash a 4.1.2 custom rom and you'll be fine.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Yeah, it's a aide effect of the early exynos abuse patches. They changed the permissions of a certain file which led to the camera just showing a green screen.
Newer kernels should have a patch built in which don't affect the camera, so you can disable the exynos abuse apk's patch and still be safe from the exploit while enjoying your camera

My phone was really low on batt but I restarted my phone and pulled it in but when it would restart there was no batt charge going on and the phone just dimmed out. It took about three retries but I got it to start charging. I don't know if this helps but at the time of all this the batt temp was over 41c. Could this be sds

first check with another charger if it works. Is there a red flash light? Are you able to enter recovery or download mode?
41degrees is not that much so i think that's not the problem
btw if a new charger dsn't work and you were in stock rom/kernel and flash counter at 0 send to samsung for repair

it is really strange :S well you can check is there is a red light in the proximity sensor, check if the usb is working (sometimes it moves a bit and doesn't work until you find the position (it can take hundreds of tries to make it work) ) also check if the battery is inflate (really fat) and if the phone allows you to enter recovery or download mode somehow. also if u remember the version if it was 4.1.2 or 4.1.1.
thanks in advance

I'm on a note 2 of course lol SGH-I317M 4.1.2 the battery isn't fat or anything and I can still get into Download mode. How do you get into recovery when it's stock and what's the difference between recovery and download mode
Sent from my SGH-I317M using xda app-developers app
recovery is just some commands such as wipe data, cache install something with sd and so on and it apperars by oppening the phone pressing power+home+ vol. up
download mode is a special mode used to flash mostly with odin (although it is used with kies too) and is the same procediment but with volume down instead of up key pressed when boot

Delete unwanted bloatwares and install greenify to hibernate all unused apps ...
Disable wifi or 3g or edge when not in used ... alwaz clear all the running apps from multitasking window which are not in use.
If u are not using 3g then go to mobile network option and use gsm only network.
If after following this steps also battery still eating up a lot then install cyanogenmod 10.1

I am interested with solution to battery problems but I am surprised about suggestions of cm10.1 which clearly does not have dual sim(or Maybe it is solved?). Of course you will have better battery if only one sim is used. The main reason why I bought grand is the dual sim plus some smart phone features. So instead of flashing another rom why not just disable the secondary sim to have better battery life?

Disabling second sim will not increase battery life... check your normal ram and CPU usage when phone is in idle stage
From galaxy grand CM 10.1 firmware..
In stock rom at idle condition free ram is about 320mb or 350mb(unrooted) where as in cm10.1 free ram was alwaz 550mb+ sometimes 600mb free ram

My second sim is a roaming sim so it will draw more power. Anyway no matter how good cm 10.1 is I will not even touch it unless it has dual sim. I tried cm on my note 1 before so I do have idea what it does. Also tried its derivative paranoid. Went back to samsung based.

Cyanogen mod is more popular than stock Samsung ROM.. because of simplicity, stock android, awesome themes, less ram and cpu usage, fast response, more battery life .....Nowadays customers first check whether a phone has CyanogenMod support or not... Before they decide to buy any new androidphones..

And i personally dont have any prob wid its single sim support bcoz i have a Nokia 1280 black and white display which i love the most as my daily phone calling work horse as its battery once charged fully lasts more than 4 days
So wheather cm10 got dual sim support or not it doesnt matter ...
