Only a small portion of users on here will be able to flash a FXP rom though...which isnt great cause from what i can see most of the users here are locked bootloaders

Not little faith, its more fact. Unless they can find a workaround, or if they base their from off official ICS

Unless they do the same thing that the miui rom for the Xperia S did. Have you flash the rom then flash the CWM before reboot, and make sure that you are on ICS, before then.

MIUI's rom is based off official ICS that is why it works on XPS with locked bootloaders. If FXP or MIUI develop off of ICS that is available for the ion then whether your bootloader is locked or not you can flash the rom.
Did I miss the FXP post?
This is awesome news. Now if we can get an AOKP project to bring stock android Rom we'll be set.

True most of the time, if it is anything like the Captivate though, we had to change kernel in order to use certain roms.

If MIUI or FXP use the ICS kernel then we should be fine.
They work using cyanogenmod not aokp.
Sent from my X10i
That is correct FXP= Cyanogen mod
Also correct is AXP= AOKP mod
And Kang XPERIA project= AOKP
A very good source developer from Xperia X10 is part of the AOKP projects. They will be merging AOKP with ION (& most Xperias) sources for a standard aosp Rom and Rom with mods.
AXP is currently working on jellybean for the Xperia S.
Ahhh jellybean

Sweet! I can't wait for some nice stable JB releases. I'm glad I have an unlocked bootloader ;D
what is the best rom i can get with a locked bootloader on xperia s and also kernel?
I think you can't change kernel with locked bootloader.
And in my opinion best rom is stock rom.
Best rom is last update of sony but u can test official miui...
Miui is very beauty but stock rom is best in performance ( locked BL)

Post in the right section. questions goes in to Q/A section. Read rules before posting.
Absolutely NO, locked bootloader's always stuck with the default kernel.
Technically yes. But only from official firmware ftf files and using flashtool

you'll get bootloop if you install custom kernels

I don't think so. I looked for a CM7 ROM in the Development Forum and I didn't found any CM7 ROM. However, in my humble opinion, I like the CM9/10/10.1 ROMS available for our device, because the performance is better than GB

So guys, i have tested a few JB and ICS ROMs already, and all of them has touchpads inverted on .79 firmware, but on .62 they work...
Any solution???

the problem on .62 is that my signal is always down, and my batery drains fast...
Hmm, have you tried any other firmwares?
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
yes, but other firmwares dosen't have vendor partition....
I don't know about inverted touchpad problem, but you can try ICS firmware for Neo L (4.1.B.0.631)
http://d-h.st/46e
I am using it, it have unlocked vendor partitition and i never had any problem with touchpads in any rom and kernel. Plus you'll have latest baseband.

I flashed that firmware somewhere in may. Since today and many many many ics, gb or jb roms tested, i never had any problems with touchpads. Actually, it can even boot normally, but since it's for Neo L, it's kernel don't have touchpad support.
Neo L and xPlay have same hardware (minus touchpads). Sony released it as "new phone", and all they do was putted ICS beta for xPlay (i even go that far to unpack all jar files in /framework folder, and all classes.dex files are same in this firmware as in ICS beta for xPlay)
Sorry for offtopic, i'm just saying it's safe to flash that firmware. I can only guess that it will give you normal touchpad controls, unlocked vendor partition and good battery life, as you asked...
Thanks for your answer, I flashed the firmware but unfortunately my
Touchpads are still inverted ... Do you know what are the files responsable for the touchpads??
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Framework.jar as file and kernel itself is generaly for touchpads...

No worry man, thanks for your help , they work on GB roms, and in your original ICS Neo2play that I moded... I will try to take it framework and put in other roms and see what i can do, because the touchpads worked on all roms in any firmware/kernel combo too...
