Is there any way to disable the KitKat music lockscreen feature? I would prefer to see my default lockscreen widget (DashClock) and not the music control upon waking up my device. With the music lockscreen, it overrides the default order and shows up first upon device wake.
The reason for asking is because I'm mounting the Nexus 7 in the car. With the DashNotifier extension, DashClock can automatically turn on the screen and display new notifications as they come in. However, if I'm running Spotify (or other music apps), the music lockscreen controls would be shown first instead, requiring me to swipe once before displaying DashClock. This defeats the purpose of automating the entire process for hands-free notifications. So is there any way to disable the music lockscreen or make DashClock show as default regardless of music playback?

When running the Spotify app, the active album / track is plumbed through the lock screen UI in the same manner as the inbuilt Zune module.
However if you pause a Spotify track for any length of time then it eventually disappears from the lock screen. Depending on what you do next you can easily crash the Spotify app.
By contrast you can suspend tracks initiated through the Zune indefinitely.
Anyone else noticed this behavior? Is this because the Mango API doesn't allow the same level of access to third party apps as it does to the inbuilt core MS Zune App?
Running Codename Android, and as the title says, sometimes the media playback controls show up on my lock screen and sometimes they don't. I haven't been able to figure out what causes them to show up.
Apps: Google Play Music, BeyondPod
BeyondPod uses the stock controls of google play, or appears to. When playing podcasts, the lock screen controls are there about 80% of the time (so far). Is this a common issue? Is there any fix? Or alternatively, is there any free solution which puts universal media controls on the lock screen?
I have looked around and found widget locker, etc but I prefer not to use that.
Mods, close or delete this, sorry. It is for the Samsung Galaxy S3
Anyone have an idea why my music controls are missing on the lock screen? I am using Google music, sometimes the album art shows but no ability to pause or skip to next song.
TIA
If you are still in the music app when the screen is locked, lockscreen music controls wont show. Exit application and retest
I'm having a problem with music controls not displaying on the lock screen. As I play a song on either pandora or google play music, I'll hit the power button to turn the screen off then back on with no music controls or album art work. It works flawlessly on my galaxy s5. Any suggestions on how to get this functionality back? Thanks
Odd. When I play music I get music controls in this lock screen but no album art work. Just the pause and play and change track is what I get in the bottom left when in the lock screen. I used the ruglar music player.
I believe it has something to do with touchwiz and the software, unless you get a aosp rom then you'd see it

I downloaded AcDisplay from the play store, in the settings I enabled it to be my LockScreen and now I finally have music controls and album art on lock screen. This works for all of my music apps.
I don't like having the media notification on my watch with the little play/pause action, I prefer to just handle that with my phone. I tried specifically muting Pocketcasts and Spotify in the Android Wear app, but that doesn't seem to do anything.
Any ideas? Is there a different app that I need to mute to make this happen?
what app are you using for music? for me the controls don't appear if i disable the lockscreen feature on poweramp
I use Spotify for music and Pocketcasts for podcasts. Same problem with both.
you can try muting spotify and pocketcasts, go on android wear, click on the cog icon on top right, it should be the first option in that menu
Edit: sorry reread your previous post, seems that didn't work, on spotify you can try to turn off device broadcast status or you can go to settings > apps > spotify and uncheck show notifications
