HTC One X will not fully boot (water damaged many months ago) - HTC One X

I dropped my HTC One X in water months ago and though that it was well and truly dead. However, I recently thought it might be a good idea to see if it works, gave it a charge but it won't boot up properly. I can get to the screen in the picture by holding the power button and volume down combo, not sure what to do though, any help would be great.
Thanks guys

Try a factory reset, if that does not work and you do not have warranty you can try to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery and a new rom.

Will that be easy to do? Or will I have to take it to a repair shop?
Thanks again.

Nothing is easy, you need to read up on how to unlock via the HTC dev site, how to flash with fastboot and how a recovery works.

[Help]Sending my HOX to htc for repair

Well i am experiencing abnormal behaviour on my HOX....the network only show for 5 sec and then goes off....then again after sometime the signals come but again for 5 sec....so short story i want to send my hox to htc for repair...but the bootloader is unlocked...the phone is rooted and is running a custom rom...what should i do to make it look completely like stock....how do i relock my bootloader?? And which stock ruu should i flash..and after doing all this, will htc would know that my phone was ever rooted or the bootloader was unlocked.... Thanks..

I'm pretty sure you can't "relock" your bootloader, HTC keep records of which phones have been unlocked through htcdev.com so even if you do manage to go back to stock, they will still know that it has been unlocked at some point.
You can relock your bootloader, but it will say relocked so htc will know about it. Are you sure its hardware fault though? Have you tried flashing another ROM/kernel?

[Q] One X froze then died.

So I have a ONE X & earlier today it froze up on the white htc quietly brilliant screen, and it stayed that way for like an hour. Then it shut off. Now it won't charge, won't turn on nada. Not sure what to do, like if I can fix it at home or just warranty it out.
So please help.
Thanks.

You have not unlocked bootloader, rooted or anything? Have you tried to boot in bootloader? (hold volumedown + power)
If having it on wallcharger for a day or so doesn't do the trick send it to htc for repair.

It won't even go into boot loader. I think it's too dead to do it. But I did try. But it's plugged in and has been for a while. Hopefully something gives.
What was the battery level when it froze?

Then keep it on the charger over night and try once more, but don't go unlocking it ....you will loose potential warranty !
Go back to the retailer is your best shot.

It's likely to be software. Does it say **UNLOCKED** in the top line of bootloader?
Sent from my One X
By the sounds of it its in a bootloop, which probably means someone tried to flash it but failed.
Its fixable but I'd check if it boots to bootloader first as said above:
Hold power and Volume Down to boot to bootloader.
Soon I got some pic from the bl.
Btw, thanks for fast reply

[Q] Bricked HOX?

Hello Members, First of all I just want to say that I tried almost everything and searched a lot on the Xda forums!
It started whit the new Venom 4.0.7. update. Never had any problems whit the Venom OTA updates but last night when I tried to install it, the little green andriod in recovery was just laying flat on it's back whit a red (!) above it.
Tried to install it manually but the same results. Soon after that my HOX began to have trouble with booting up and now it doesn't do anything. The only thing that it does is when I hook it up on my laptop that it bleeps and says that something is conected to the laptop and later in device manager I found out it says "APX".
No back lights from the screen or soft buttons, no red or green led.. Just nothing.
Now I've tried to install new drivers and that does somthing, the laptop recognizes its a phone but that's it. (no longer "APX") It says "NVIDEA USB Boot-recovery diver for mobile devices".
No I'm stuck Someone with the same problem and solved it? Or has anyone an idea how to fix it?
Hope to hear something soon from u guys!
APX is a dead hox, hardware failure. A new mainboard is the solution !

Maybe it's smart to say that every time (after the new update) it became harder and harder to enter recovery mode.. black screen took longer and longer before recovery came up.

Car Therms always work Thanks. So there's absolutely nothing I can do for my HOX anymore? (other than sending it to HTC for a new main board)
Nah not really, and all the phones that got out of apx died in the end again. It's all temporarily.
Some got it out of apx by rebooting it like 100 times and pressing button combos....to me it's pressing luck ! And it will come back 100%
So it's safe to say it's a dead end. Sorry
