AOSP MASTER BRANCH FOR MANTA DEVICE
Hello everyone, you can download on XDA many good ROMS but each of them are based on "stable" android releases. That's why I chose to share something else.
I am offering a master branch build
Why use master branch ?
clang 3.8 | daily updates | java 1.8
instructions :
reboot to twrp recovery ( you can use mine if you want to use f2fs or having issues flashing my packages)
flasy my package
reset factory and IF YOU COME FROM ANOTHER DISTRIBUTION delete /sdcard/Android/data folder
flash gapps package ( I recommend opengapps)
reboot
I recommend people to factory reset time o time because of the master branch, it can be required to remove some bugs
What is not working/bugging for now
ROOT: latest supersu are patching the boot image and this doesn't work currently with my master branch releases. You need to use SuperSU v2.56
MXPlayer: for some reasons mxplayer doesn't find libcutils.so while it does exists. So for now, you gotta to use some alternatives: vlc, or what ever

How to use AdwAway
In oder to get AdAway working you need to do the following:
1/ Set a file at
Code:
su/su.d
with the following content
Code:
mount -o bind /su/etc/hosts /system/etc/hosts;
2/ Make an empty host file at
Code:
/su/etc/hosts
I think you can find a working flashable package doing this on the unoffical adaway thred

Can I confirm this is 100% AOSP, untouched?
Are you doing automated nightly builds?
Thanks!

This is not 100% PURE aosp.
The base is aosp master branch. I have included some several extra such :
bootanimation
long press recent switches to latest app
led
...
Well nothing much.
The only critical thing I have touched is android permission : I override user's permission for google play service for the location permission access: otherwise it crashes.
I have uploaded a new build.
Too much changes to display here the changelog.
If you want extra tracking you should head here
To me, the main change, is clang prebult updated!
OP updated, root is now working.
I'm not being thick here (sure of that) but despite flashing SU 2.56 , I can't get root permissions at all. Am I missing something?

Nope. I tried flashing superSU on the ROM + open gapps .....the ROM on it's own without the gapps too. Flashed the 2.56 beta build from the link you provided and although supersu appears in the app drawer, the "Enable Superuser" option appears to be greyed out and none of the apps even request root permission.

How is your supersu status ?
I have no issue with su.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was reported an issue when formating to f2fs rebooting to the rom would format the userdata partition.
I investigated the AOSP code source and some commit format the partition if it fails mounting. Ofc trying to mount a f2fs partition with ext4 is considered as a fail...
Flashing my standalone kernel permit to pass that issue : my stand alone kernel will transform ext4 entries to f2fs(and vice versa) depending on the actual underlying fs.
The current release I am using features fixes for this, however, something broke the libsensors, so I need to find out what.

Ewww, it should work ! Any other informations ? such logs ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am uploading a new build, I had issues for days with the builds.
Please tell me if you got bootloop on reboot. From what I saw bootloops do not longer exist.
I uploaded a new build.
It features master branch 02/21 with my latest kernel.
You just need latest opengapps for marshamallow and supersu 2.56.
Have fun.
All I see is one dated 2/5?

I had this issue sometimes when installing the Rom and gapps in the same queue.. Installing the gapps seperatly afterwards worked then.. Try this out
Can´t give permissions because of looped warnings.
ROM only works fine.
I think i will wait for Khaons Kernel with DT2W Patch and use CM13.

@Der_Graf
Hehe sorry for you this issue happens, the real culprit is Google. Since MM, the dev got to ask permission if not given. Google Play Frameworks/Service doesn't ask for this. So that's why you got FC. You should try after a Factory Rest- you need to that anyway when coming from another ROM- not installing Gapps in order to not have the first setup screen where you will get stuck because of the fc's spam.
Then Install gapps, and, since you will boot on the Home Screen, you should be able, with some pain, to get access to the app menu to get Location permission for Google Play Services.
Then, for any upgrade install, you won't have issues as the permission is already granted.
I know this sucks, but I tried to force give the permisison and it doesnt work
Ewwwww.
I wanted to share my latest build, as of the 25th feb, but NFC is broken and makes continuous FC'S, this appears also on my friend nexus 6's device, which is still supported by Google. So this is the bad news I've got to understand why this happens, well until Google fixes it or I find the culprit.
However, the good news is, that this friend, maintains more extra features then I do, so the next releases will feature more extra features
This is Superuser open source app for my roms. It is based on excellent work of Koush and @phhusson who keeps this app active.
SuperSU is a great app, but it is closed source. Without casting any shadow on great developer Chainfire, a proprietary app that manages root and has literally total control over your device is not good security. Period. Well, if you don't believe me, then you should believe Koush:
Why another Superuser?
Superuser should be open source. It's the gateway to root on your device. It must be open for independent security analysis. Obscurity (closed source) is not security.
Superuser should be NDK buildable. No internal Android references.
Superuser should also be AOSP buildable for those that want to embed it in their ROM.
Superuser should also be AOSP embeddable, meaning a ROM can easily embed it into their Settings app.
Maintenance and updates on both the market and source repositories should be timely.
I want to be able to point users of my app to a Superuser solution that I wrote, that I know works, and that I can fix if something is wrong.
Handle multiuser (4.2+) properly
Handle concurrent su requests properly
So, this is a zip for flashing in recovery. It puts:
1. Freshly built Superuser.apk into /system/app; and
2. SU binary into /system/xbin
Nothing else is required. After reboot, you will have a working open source Superuser. If you are on Jaguar with Supersu, just reinstall the latest release (dirty) and flash the attached Superuser_Jan6.zip.
In case you would want to return to Chainfire's SuperSU, you'll just need reflash SuperSU zip.
The app is confirmed to work on Jaguar and my unofficial builds of Tesla-Redux, LiquidSmooth and DirtyUnicorns. It should also work without any problems on other roms including stock, if your Selinux is either disabled or set to permissive.

Superuser updated
New release: this time no problems after install + there is a dark theme included. Flash in recovery. See OP for download.
P.S. If you have installed Supersu, deleting it won't do. You need to reinstall the latest rom and then flash the Superuser_Jan6.zip
HybridRom Concept EditioN
New Z1:
I decided to buy a secondhand Z1, so now I can continue developing. As school is starting again soon I will not be able to do a lot. I will do what I can.
Description:
We all got used to the idea that most stable ROM is a Stock one.
This ROM will prove you otherwise.
This ROM was previously only available for the Xperia ZU, but thanks to @Doom Slayer's new development group it will start spreading to other Xperia devices. Some apps might not be the newest, but they are very stable. Our main priority is making the ROM compatible with other Xperia devices before updating every app. Today we have decided to release the first open beta for the Xperia Z1. There is only one problem we know of so far, which is an issue regarding the rear-facing camera. Sometimes the camera saves corrupt photo's. Video recording, front-facing camera, Snapchat, taking WhatsApp photo's etc. work just fine.
Feel free report bugs and help us squatting them .
Main Futures:
Very fast and responsive ROM based on Z3 aosp concept and GPE libs with amazing battery life and memory management.
Perfect combination of Sony and Google apps.
No bloatware, no adds.
Only 400 megabytes.
Optional modifications.
Installation options:
Feel free to install the rom the way you want to:
Are you an advanced user who'd like to experiment with their phone?
Feel free to install our mod for theme support and kernel for advanced futures.
Change log:
Kernel 24-aug
128kHz and 24bit audio
Fixed fauxsound
V2.0.1:
Fixed zip file
V2:
Updated Sony and Google apps
Removed:Browser,Google Now,Gmail,Viper,Video(support implemented in Album) and some other bloatware.
Fixed Sony Sound Enhancements
Fixed Write To SD Card (I hope so)
Added new weather widget
Bugs:
Flashlight (probably camera related)
Autorotation
Some people might have 5ghz wifi connection problem
Wifi may disconnect during screen off no matter the settings. (This is android problem, not my rom)
The rear-facing camera sometimes saves corrupt photo's
Installation Instruction:
Make sure that your Bootloader is Unlocked.
Boot in TWRP.
Wipe system,data,and both caches.
Flash the ROM.
Reboot device.
Prepare to be amazed.
Mods and fixes, but don't install these kernels on your Z1!

Since ZU and Z1 have similar hardware, I can provide some support as well. @aquaboy11, thank for opening a thread, let's make a cabdy out of that ROM.
A person who will find a way to fix camera will become a member of out dev team.
Also, if you have experience with kernels, then you can try to make a defconfig for my own kernel, which will allow me to bring a kernel as well, kernel with fauxsound, dt2w and etc.
I don't have Z1 on my own unfortunately.

Glad to see that new devs are arriving to our device. But for the dt2w feature on kernel, it's not possible for z1 because of a deepsleep's bug.(i don't think it's possible to correct it).

Also can't fastboot the files inside the zip.

To change the doing you need to edit the build.prop. Open it up with any build.prop editing app and look for ro.sf.lcd_density, just typing lcd in search should be enough. Adjust the dpi to your liking, save and reboot.
For the universal path, I think you should be able to just flash it. If it doesn't work, then just reflash the rom and you'll be good to go. Be sure to tell us if it doesn't work.

Okay so I don't think I will try advanced path because inside there is a zu system ui.apk so it will probably not work. But I saw that substratum have just been put to Google play store. Can we use it or it needs to add pluggins in the rom?

It will work.
UI is actually from Z3 and it's working on Ultra.
Why it won't work with on Z1?
Only thing is changed is dpi, which can be done in build.prop.
Btw if u applying themes, apply framework for Android M!
What is Kali NetHunter? If you don't know what NetHunter is read this: https://www.kali.org/kali-linux-nethunter/
Q: Why don't I flash the original nethunter version by keeping my current kernel?
A: To get Nethunter fully work you need a kernel that supports its features, such as put a wireless adapter in monitor mode or perform a HID Keyboard attack
Special Patches included in this kernel:
mac80211 injection patch, to put wireless adapters in monitor mode; note that built-in wireless chipset doesn't support monitor mode and you have to use external wireless adapter (see supported wireless cards here)
HID patch, to perform HID keyboard attacks
CD-ROM patch, to emulate CD-ROMs in DriveDroid
Warning!!!:
This version is not tested by me (since I don't have a hono 5x ) but it's tested by another user that told me it works, so, if it doesn't blame him not me
Disclaimer:
Code:
I'm not responsable for bricked devices :( , dead phone chargers,
nuclear explosions or global warming.
Flash it at YOUR OWN RISK.
Required Downloads:
Download any CM based ROM
Download any custom recovery (like twrp)
Download my Nethunter "ROM" here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=118871 All future updates will be in that folder
How to Install (CM/RR):
Note: When you flash my zips, don't check "zip signature verification" box in TWRP recovery
1) Install TWRP
2) Enter in TWRP recovery
3) Flash any CM based (like cm, rr, aicp...) ROM
4) Optional: flash Google Apps after flashed a cm based recovery
5) Flash NetHunter zip
7) Reboot
8) Open Nethunter app and go to menu<chroot manager<install chroot and download the full chroot, for devices which have more storage available, or minimal chroot, for devices which have less space available
9) Close NetHunter app and reopen it to complete the installation
10) Enjoy
Important: I called NetHunter "ROM", but it isn't a ROM, so, you don't have to wipe system partition.
Note: report only bugs related to NetHunter and not to cm based roms

Kali Linux on Honor 5X! This is amazing!
Downloaded and flashed on KIW-L22 - On Tipsy OS - AOSP and AOKP (CM Based) - Initial boot took a while longer than normal, got a boot loop first, but it came back up after cache/dalvik wipe
Kali chroot manager stuck in "Checking" even after 10 minutes though
Edit: Lost root on installing this and didn't notice it, and busybox too.....reinstalling SuperSU through TWRP is not bringing it back root access either, so cannot install busybox too......nethunter app returned an error for not getting root access and no busybox installation!
PS: In love with the boot animation!!

2. On AOKP (CM based) - Flash and wipe cache/dlavik, took a while longer but booted up normally, but I guess it will settle
Still trying to figure out how and what to use it for but just wanted to report back that the flashing process went well!!

$ python build.py -d kiwi --marshmallow --release v1.0 --rootfs-full
Anyway i will upload the zip with full chroot once i finish my cm14 port for a5

I even tried the alfa rtl8187l chipset without any result,
The problem is the low current for the adapter from the phone,
The usb hub with an external power supply maybe solves the problem, but it is not practical for a displacement

kalifs-armhf-full.tar.xz

The .tar.xz one
Hey all,
so i flashed the nethunter zip with no hiccups.
However, now my wifi wont connect.
Does anyone know what might be the problem?
Can anyone add our device to the supported devices list ? This would be very helpful, especially since we have a large internal space, for testing out new ROMs...
Here is how to add support to any device :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-dualboot-patcher-unsupported-t3647056
I wanted to try it, but I am using my phone on a daily basis and don't have an alternate VoLTE phone... Also I am a bit inexperienced in development... :crying:
Tried given steps..
1st latest version not worked when clicked on ROM, failed.
I tried bit old version say 9.3 build 179.. Clicking rom worked.
Then followed all steps but not seen X01BD device while patching zip.
This much i did.. Will check other ways.
Note: we need to check other or older version of dbp

Thanks for trying
Did you follow the official method ? Which recovery are you using ? TWRP or PBRP ?
Yes
I have tried it finally... Both unofficial method as well as official..
1) Unofficial method does not seem to work, because the app crashes when we click on the ROMs section... This happens for all snapshots from 9.3.0.r340 onwards... I tried the snapshot before this one i.e. 9.3.0.r327 and there were no crashes. I continued with the unofficial method, flashed PATCH.zip, gave root permissions etc but this method did not work...
2) I tried the official method. I forked the project on Github, made the neccessary changes to the asus.yml file and created a pull request.
Here : https://github.com/chenxiaolong/DualBootPatcher/pull/1380
Now we wait for the changes to be merged with the main repo ... Then test the new release...
I didn't have enough bandwidth, otherwise would have built the apk from source myself... Still there is time ... I'll try to see if I can build the apk ....
Hey guys ... Can anyone please help in building this apk ?
Here is my repository which I forked from the official :
https://github.com/Tyakrish/DualBootPatcher
Just fork from my link and build the apk using the steps described here :
https://github.com/chenxiaolong/DualBootPatcher/wiki/Building-DualBootPatcher-from-source
And here :

Any update on DBP

Unfortunately no... @chenxiaolong has not yet merged the commits with the main repo
There are a lot of commits still waiting...
You can check the status of the commit here:
https://github.com/chenxiaolong/DualBootPatcher/pull/1380
I dont currently have a build environment set up... Otherwise I would have built an unofficial version to test on our device...
