Greetings, i have a question that bothers me.. I'm on kitkat 4.4 Carbon rom and sometimes when i plug the charger in the lg, it won't charge at all.. At nights i have to be in alert because it simply won't charge at all.. it's not the carbon rom.. with another 4.4 rom happens the same.. I have to shutdown the phone and then plug it in the charger.. Why is happening? In stock it won't happen at all...

No one knows why this is happening..?
are you considering a hardware issue ?
go back stock and test it. If you dont have issue is rom.
if you have is the charger, or the usb port.

In stock won't happen.. it's only in 4.4 KK roms.. but i don't know if is a rom issue o kernel may have something to do with it..

Then you can reinstall carbon rom and dont install a custom kernel and try. If issue still is not kernel related.

I will try.. but maybe it would take a couple of days.. not to install, but the issue is random.. sometimes it appears sometimes goes smooth.. i will post the results, thx
It happened again.. with stock kernel, i'm starting to think that is something that i'm doing wrong in the flashtime

Hi, I'm new at this. I'm using PACMAN 4.2.2 rom and when I take a photo with flash or when I turn on the torch my phone reboots, but it happens too with CODEFIREX 4.2.2. Do anyone know why it could be? any solution? thank you.

Read the roms thread to find out if someone had that issue first. That seems to be pretty specific for the rom...can be the kernel, the ram memory on your device or a bug of the custom rom.

This a battery related problem. Your battery must be old. Happened with me too, replaced the battery and worked fine
Sent from my DHD
I agree, that sounds battery related. They're not super expensive so I would recommend buying a new battery.
WOW!! I just replace the batery like you tell me, and now works perfect!! thank you all for you're help
Hi
I installed this ROM and there is an issue with the battery as the percentage keeps going down even when plugged into AC power(not usb).
Is there anything I can do about this?
Thank you.
Dilla
Sounds like a bad battery to me.
Which ROM were you on before?
Could you provide some more in please? Thanks

Hi and Thnx Guy,
I actually rooted my Desire HD for the first time using HTC_QuickRoot_1.1.13 after unlocking bootloader via HTC site. Then I flashed CWR via flashboot using cmd on PC.
After that I just placed the GimmeABreak ROM on SD card and flashed via CWR. Oh and it was stuck in HTC screen after this and after much reading figured out that I had to flash the boot.img via PC.
This is pretty much all I did. ROM works perfectly fine. Except I saw that the battery charges pretty slow. But I read that it takes 2 or 3 charge cycles to get optimum levels. BTW I saw an app that deletes battery stats files and recalibrate it. You think it would help?
Cheers mate.
maybe you can try wipe battery stats under CWM recovery..but i don't know if there are in CWM menu..
or maybe you might also try installing another rom..
hopefully can help..

Hi Jeamy,
Ya I just did that. I will wait and see. As I am a newbie here, I was wondering how can I harness the best battery life out of my phone. Because that's one reason of rooting and using custom ROMs in my opinion. I'm very happy with the first ever ROM (GimmeABreak) I'm using and how can I go about tweaking the phone to get the best battery life?
Thanks

There's a multitude of ways you can increase your battery life
First off, buy an extended battery, they're around £20. It helps a lot!
Underclocking helps a lot, especially when the screen is off. l usually set my phone to run at 300 MHz when the screen is off and also force it to use the conservative governor. When using the phone I usually set it to 700 MHz so it wont drain.
Undervolting is good

Thnx for that Jeamy. I will try SVHD as you recommend. So I believe via Rom manager if I choose backup and then flashing SVHD is correct? by backing up a rom does it mean it backs up apps, messages, contacts etc?
Thnx

i suggest better don't used rom manager to do that all...if you want to backup first..just do NAND backup (this will backup all inside your rom) from your recovery then wipe data/factory reset (except sd card), and then continue flashing new rom from recovery too..
hopefully can help..

No....what i mean with the Nandroid backup is backup Nandroid image through the Recovery that you used..like CWM, 4Ext recovery, or TWRP recovery..there's a backup option in the recovery menu it self to do backup all your android system and data that you used..
hopefully you can understand what i mean..

2nd Pac-man Rom Build 6 (JB 4.3) (the lattest bug i know is bluetooth doesn't work)
3rd the rom that i'm still using now is Official MIUI V5 v3.11.8 (JB 4.2)..you can check the thread here.. or direct to http://en.miui.com/
hope you can find a suitable rom with your taste...

Sounds like Driver issue. Try another Kernel. If that doesn't work, ODIN to stock (just to restore ) then do a Clean install of your Choice of Rom.

You can't change drivers that easy. Although I doubt sound mods, you can uninstall them and then try. You can of course most recent cm version.

yes..i think it could be the kernel related..because all the drivers including touch and display driver is under the kernel it self..
if that problem is come from your hw..then you will find the same problem in recovery too..but you say is under recovery is fine..nothing problem like that..
so..i'm sure that's problem come from the rom or the kernel from the rom itself..and not your phone hw related..

flash stock rom and check if everything works as it should. if it does, its is software. if it doesnt, its hardware.

and to anyone else who might be interested, i used this tool o determine exactly what part of ts is gone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cp.stest
any other similar app would do, also something you can draw with will do the same
if anyone has an idea how to tackle this at home, you are most welcome, since my warranty is 2 months passed :/
i think it may be a problem with contacts only, because the screen is not damaged and the rest works fine. but i really dont know enough to be certain
Same problem here, But when I reboot the problem goes away.
I tried this app instead: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tsaysoft.touchtest.
I think its a bug in the Rom/Kernel.

Sense 5 ROMs, taktiK, and the kernel you mentioned are all ION kernel. Maybe flash SVHD or ViperDHD without the addition of the ION kernel and see if you still have the same problem. I haven't experienced this but I have an Inspire4G which uses different touch screen drivers than your DHD.

When you updated to KitKat, the bootloader was updated to the KitKat version. It does not operate properly with a Jellybean rom/kernel. If you still want to use Jellybean, then you can flash the modified kernel from THIS thread to get it to work properly with the KitKat bootloader.
Are you sure it doesn't charge? Or just the battery icon doesn't work? (I had this bug for a long time, but my tablet was charging normally, just the battery animation didn't work..)
I had a a similar issue with my galaxy tab 3 . mine wouldn't charge at all! So well I really got worried so I thought well it doesn't smell like the battery burned and if it was burned it wouldnt be on right now so I popped open the back and disconnected the battery from the tab and connected it after 15-30 seconds and BOOM! I put it to charge and it worked again just like before .
So try doing that good luck buddy.
