Update your version of TWRP. There is a much newer version available than the one you are using.

[Q] Please Help! Trouble with updating to Jellybean

Hello this is my first post and I come to request some help.
I have a htc one v and was trying to update to jelly bean through steps from Android Authorty's guide
After completing this set of instructions I booted up my phone and sadly all I got was a htc screen with the red writing which then turned black and nothing happened after that.
Im pretty worried right now, I dont have much knowledge about androids and I have but a clue as to what I have just done.
Is it permanently damaged? How do i fix this or atlest restore it to the factory state.
Please help!

as for the OP: make sure you also flash the KERNEL for the respective rom. it is not enough to install only the ROM. You need also the kernel because we currently have S-ON devices.

To start over, u should have the stock kernel. U have restored the stock nandroid then u must flash stock kernel...or it will not boot...
Did u flash the kernel at time of installing JB??

Hey i just tried to do this and got error while making backup image of /system
OK so i figured out that i am truly a noob.
I was attempting to install the CDMA version when i needed GSM.
Proud of myself for solving this i went to install the gsm version but sadly now i only get the htc screen with red writing.
It dosent change from there.
Have i done permanent damage because i installed the CDMA version!?
now im getting something really weird my phone goes to the htc screen with red writing then shuts off by itself and then turns on again by itself in a endless cycle of this red writing htc screen.

Alright... let's get your phone fixed!
I assume you have:
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. Installed a recovery
3. Installed a custom CDMA ROM
4. Then installed a GSM ROM
5. Now phone keeps rebooting?
Is that correct?

HELP! I think I messed up :( CM10 Nightly

Ok, So I went back to Gingerbread because I wanted to do a "clean install" rerooted my phone and decided to try out the latest (20130103) Nightly CM10.
I flashed the rom first, because im an idiot noob.
ended up flashing to JediX which I already had on my phone so i could get back to download mode.
Downloaded the Radio and Gapps.
Followed the wiping procedure on the TeamChopsticks site
When I rebooted I got the Blue CM circle, its been going on for 20 mins.
What do I do to get this working?
I am ashamed. :cyclops:

what you should try to do is to into recovery mode
then factory wipe also wipe dalvik cache
after that flash your radio first
then flash your rom
then flash the gapps
after that reboot and it should take a while the first time
if it freezes try taking out the battery and reboot it again

Have you tried twrp recovery? With that one you don't have to worry about using the darkside scripts. Just full wipe and flash the rom. If you have root, the goomanager app can install it for you.

If you have root access, the easiest way is to download an app called goomanager beta from the play store and install it from there. Open the app, press the menu button and hit "install open recovery script".

Your trying to flash eos... you need to go to that thread and read the instructions for installation... Which would include...
Being on the jb ota (android os 4.1.2) or used the appropriate teeny bin
Being unlocked, rooted, and using team win recovery (twrp)
Make sure ROM and gapps are on your sdcard
Reboot into recovery
Factory reset
Wipe system (not data/media)
Wipe cache and dalvick cache
Flash ROM
Flash gapps
Then reboot and set everything up

What recovery and verision of it are you using? for 4.3+ roms you need CWM 6.0.3.7+ or TWRP 2.6.1.0
I´m also having this problem. I can't flash any ROM. I went back to stock and tried again with those versions of recovery but nothing.

It looks like according to the author of United Basics ROM, he's running 2.6.3.1, at least that's what his signature says.
DEVICE: Samsung Galaxy S2 (T-Mobile)
ROM: United Basics v4.0
RECOVERY: TWRP 2.6.3.1
