VirginRom as of now is already on 4.4. Perhaps you downloaded an outdated version of it. The 4.4 kitkat update people are awaiting for is the one with TouchWiz.

So you now have VirginROM 4.4.x? Is it the same one that's been available in the Android Development section since like December? Because if so, it's the official 4.4 update and it IS out and has been for a while now.

Pardon the comments which seem like objections, but they are necessary if the content of your post is not exactly accurate. The GPE 4.4.2 has been available for a long time for this device. The official TW 4.4.2 is not available yet. Don't confuse the two. Also, of course the GPE update notification will occur if you're on the older version of Virgin Rom(4.3). But if you have a custom recovery it will fail to install most likely. Also, the title of your post fails to recognize the complexities of going from 4.3 to 4.4 on an older bootloader and having a fully working result.
I think your intentions were nice, but you may end up misleading people.
Mods can you delete this thread please.

I'm trying to find 4.2.1 ROMs to flash, but having a hard time telling which ROMs are 4.2 unless it says it in the thread title. Is that the only way to really tell? I tried Google but I don't want to download something not for sprint. Any advice?

Read the entire op. It will say based on for example LJ7 which is sprints latest official version of 4.1.1.

Like what he said; it's in the title of the thread / OP.
Though if you're looking for 4.2.x, they'll be only AOSP roms as of now. And please only flash sprint roms.

Try the sprint sg3 original development thread. And check out the 4.2.1 slim ROM. You'll like it!

I was just looking at that one and considering it. Think I will! Thanks everyone. To update my prl, radio I need to flash back to stock and unroot right? Not sure if I need to do that or not..
You don't need to unroot, you just need to be on a TW rom for prl and profile update. To update modems(radios) just find a zip you can flash in recovery.
MOD EDIT: DO NOT FLASH THIS, IT WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE
The 4.2.2 stock firmware for the GS3 has leaked here http://www.sammobile.com/2013/05/20...lly-bean-leaked-firmware-for-the-galaxy-s-iii. I realize that this is for the international version of the GS3 but I am curious if this works for the AT&T version (or any other version for that matter)?
Nope. Uses a different CPU.

No it doesn't work and can't be ported easily enough to try because of different cpus.

That's what I thought. It escaped my mind that the international version uses the exynos quad core. Well, It's been widely rumored that the official 4.2 update will be pushed some time in June. Thx

Flashing international SGS3 ROMs / firmware will hard brick your device.
I think it would be a good idea if mods would delete this entire thread so we don't have people trying to download and flash it.

The question 'can you flash an i9300 rom on the ATT version?' is all that needs to be asked if there is really a question. Links should not be posted and are completely unnecessary.
The answer to that noob question is a quick NO and you don't have other noobs clicking unnecessary links and flashing incompatible roms.

Now that both Android 4.3 has been released as an OTA update and official Kernel have been posted by Samsung, I am thinking about turning my T-Mobile S4 into the 9505G (until T-Mobile releases the firmware update). I have a few questions:
- Is it safe to install the stock 9505G ROM on the M919? Do I have to worry about basebands/modems? What about the kernel? Will the new stock kernel work?
- When do I find the latest and purest GPE 4.3 ROM? I've been to the 9505G forum, but most stock-based ROMs are either old (not the latest) or have been modified in one way or another? Is there a link to the source?
Thanks in advance.

Since 4.3 just officially dropped. I'm sure by tomorrow allot of the developers who have posted 4.3 leak builds will update there ROMs with the official build. I would just wait till later tomorrow. That way you won't have to worry about flashing something you are not suppose to

I wouldn't recommend using a rom with the 4.3 official build. Security settings force quits, and you can't uninstall apps. Stick with one of the leaked 4.3's; I'm personally using VirginROM by mvirginia and it works great.

Any luck with a link for the flashed OTA GE ROM for the M919? I'd also like to try making my T-Mobile S4 into a straight GE version.
I am one of those who are looking forward to get "Official Samsung" ROM on my M919 ASAP.
It is not that I don't like custom ROM's. I have had car bluetooth issues with custom Kitkat. Also I use S-View a lot....something that is not possible out of box in Custom Kitkat.
I found a 4.4.2 Official ROM has been released in Europe for snapdragon 600 processors (i9505)
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/install-of...t-update-galaxy-s4-lte-snapdragon-600-1437696
I never developed Custom ROM's before. My experience stays with flashing ROM's.
Would appreciate any tips or help to install a official samsung 4.4.2 on my T-Mobile M919.
I just can't wait few more weeks for a official ROM from T-Mobile. I think I can, because I got you guys
Thanks, Ari

You should lurk in the 9505 forums. Devs there should have one available soon. Usually can be flashed fight to our phones once they make it a flashable zip

i9505 - Compatibility with M919
Thank you for the Golden Eye ROM link.
Is it fine to flash it in M919? I know they have a common processor.
Not sure if it is safe to try.
Thanks, Ari
i9505 and m919 are as close as identical as you can get. btw this is Q&A
Does this version still retain the same issues on our phone such as Wi-Fi, storage, and security settings?

Looks like you have a custom Kernel on your M919. Let me know what it is. Can it be used in 4.4.2?
If anyone flashes Goldeneye, would you kindly post your experience. Does it work? Your specific steps to get it working? I don't use Bluetooth, but my issue is the camcorder performance on non Touchwiz roms. I think this thread will probably be moved to Q&A so I'll check back there. Wish there were a thread over there dealing with flashing other carriers' roms. I'd try it if I knew it worked out well for others.

Yes, I've read that guide before but somehow it seems vague. It doesn't specify the Rom version tested, the exact kernel tested, and the info might be outdated. The link to Goldeneye for the T-Mobile S4 is a link to a closed thread that apparently used to be on the T-Mobile GS4 Android Development forum. But thanks anyway :good:
Ok OP, I looked everywhere, where is the link to your ROM!?
Oh, that's right, another case of not reading before posting - itus

Try WanamLite. He just updated his ROM to 4.4 too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283194
I would think you would need their bootloader to run any of these roms. I hope I am wrong but I will wait for someone to try it first.

Gotta wait till someone who has taken the official update to do a system pull or wait until sammobile has the firmware available. (I'm waiting for the latter )
