I need good HTTP 1.1 server for UWP app, with ability to handle large files (like big mp4s) and with good error handling.
Definitely need an open source implementation.
Anyone can recommend? Thanks!
P.S. Hope, some programmers still reading this forum...
Found a really good one. And code author, Peter Waher, is a very nice and helpful person! Thanks, Peter!

I need to ask my 7.5 yo daughter; however probably she'll not like this project, we've already played and finished with the LEDs
P.S. Sorry, but I don't understand your question. How your link related to the UWP HTTP server? In my second post, I provided a link to really well written UWP web server (author followed RFC step by step). Most of other "web servers" hosted on github just are slightly modified MS example, with minimal functionality (actually, 99.99% of these "servers" can return small text responses on HTTP GET request, that's all).
P.P.S. My initial question isn't related to IoT but for Windows 10 UWP; I'm working on the "Cast to" modification now, adding built-in DLNA server (buggy MS casting API doesn't works with my new TV).
Here is m$ 's shiny new http server (iis killer?)
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/
The purpose of this server is to serve asp.net (json, javascript style). It is not uwp, but even more portable.
Too many problems to read or access xda. Xda block Tor, from VPN I can´t reply.
Is our privacy a problem for us ?
VPN, Tor and reCaptcha don´t work. Could you change this ? thank you.
PS: without VPN or Tor, XDA don´t work easily. I have to break all privacy (uBlock, noscript, etc....) to post a reply, and even privacy naked there is a reCaptcha, okay only after many attemps. Pages are ugly until the highest level of "noprivacy".
How could we understand security or a "secure DNS" if priority don´t respect our "feeling" of privacy ?
I will not reply, it´s too complicated.
Thank you again.

I have uBlock and NoScript running and absolutely no issues replying anywhere without a VPN. :good:
They used to block the accesss, now they don't really do that, although you could still likely run in to a problem like that. Now mostly all DNS providers try to ensure your privacy as well as security. They developed encrypted DNS rooting, where all your packages go through TLS or HTTPS protocols. Thats probably closest to the epitome of privacy and security for DNS servers.
It's a known issue that the Google captchas are a real PITA over Tor, and it's by design. The easier it is to solve the captcha, the more likely Google knows who exactly you are and can track you. As soon as you start installing privacy add-ons and it gets more difficult for Google to determine who you are and the more likely they will want you to solve challenges. I believe there is a direct correlation between the uniqueness of your browser fingerprint and the likelihood you are given a challenge.
You can check how unique your browser fingerprint is here: https://panopticlick.eff.org/
****Here are the steps to block ads natively on Pie using the PRIVATE DNS feature.****
****This will allow us to block ads system wide(for apps without built it resolver) without installing additional apps or plugins.****
Step 1. Settings> connections > More connection settings > Private DNS
2. Enter : dns.adguard.com .. or
dns-family.adguard.com (for nofap?)
3. Press save and enjoy ad-free experience.
****These are secured adguard servers with integrated ad-blocking.****
#### For Chrome, type chrome://flags in searchbar... Type ' async ' in search. Click on #enabled-async-dns and chose 'disabled' . Otherwise chrome could use a built in dns resolver which doesn't block ads. ####
So along with blocking ads you also get a secured encrypted DNS. ?

The system-wide Adguard DNS protection is not customisable and limited in terms of blocked hosts. Rather, I would go with DNS66 available on F-Droid. It allows customisation of blocked hosts as well as DNS and individual apps can be whitelisted.
I also use dns66 and it works great. Thanks for the chrome tip. I was wondering why it did not block ads in chrome but now it does.
Brilliant.
I use adguard solution. It satisfies me perfectly.
Dns66 keeps vpn connected all the time. I am pretty sure, that it makes load on procesor and battery. Fact it is probably safer when connected to public Wifi
What's the difference between those two addresses dns.adguard.com and dns-family.adguard.com ?
Tnx

HOT-DANG ! ! ! Only reason I wanted to root was to get the hell rid of one app's horrible ads and BAM ! ! ! Your little workaround works like a charm. Thank you very, very much ! ! !
PERFECT!!!!
This is great. Works great. Thanks !!!!
In comparison to the likes of Luna, it's not all that effective in a lot of sites, especially with popups.
working nice here!
with nextdns.io you can use custom host files and a lot of other options it also supports DNS-over-TLS so far its my favorite option for dns
AdGuard app is #1.
Hello, sorry to have dug up, but I have a problem with dns.adguard.com, it slows down my connection, when it does not block it completely elsewhere, and this for several days, is there an alternative solution ? Thank you
Hello guys,
Im an app developer and recently for an app that Im building for my parish (for sunday services) I came up with this little device (firestick 2) and as it has android, I decide to port my Flutter / Web app to an androidTV native app. And so I did it, and the beta that I have is working... but I have a question.
I found DNS66 to block Ads.... but is there posible to block all Amazon requests so that I get empty rows (for recomendations, movies, shows, apps...) but at the same time, have internet for my app? I could achieve this if I dont connect the stick to the wifi at all, but then I dont have internet for my app, so that got me thinking... the "exception handling" so to speak for when there is no internet is an emtpy-feed launcher (wich is what I want).
I was planing to sniff the stick with wireshark and figure out the requests DNS names and block them with the DNS66, but maybe you guys already know them... or a method (non rooted) to achieve this. See, my goal is to get a reproducible method that I could write down in a guide, that my mom could follow if their church gets the stick, and I cannot expect her to crack-open the stick and solder...
Thank you for the help,
Try running it through pi hole. It should give you the information you want.
Its hard cause of the religious stuff... Wtf man?
Suggestions other than using blockada app.
adguard, adaway VPN mode or private DNS
I am using next DNS service. It is customizable, so you can turn on or off lists, add things to white list etc.

And how to use/enroll that?
Register on nextdns.io, than you can set up which lists you want to enable. In your profile you also get address to use in private DNS option on your phone.
If you use that option all your traffic goes through nextdns, so it blocks out ads and robots on websites, but also on installed apps.
There is one disadvantage - it is free only for limited number of queries - more than enough for me, but some really heavy users may not find it enough. Nevertheless it is so worth to try if it works for you. Even so I have my devices rooted I don't yous Adblock etc, preferring nextdns.
If I helped you, you can use my referral link do register: https://nextdns.io/?from=ydnp2mzn . It doesn't cost you anything
Oh wow, thanks! Will check it out
Why do all forget the most important thing about DNS/VPN? Privacy!
All your traffic is routed over a unknown server. You have no control over your data! If you want use such a service, use your own. If you have a good router at home, you should be able to run a VPN server on it. In combination with Pi Hole, you have your own private and ad free VPN.
Mobile -> VPN -> Home -> PiHole -> Net

You can use Adaway in VPN mode.
If you're willing to learn, have a look at setting up pihole and pivpn. I route all traffic through my setup.

I second this. I use my pi as a plex server and pihole dns server. I LOVE it. Never found myself freaking the **** out about dns requests until I started looking at traffic statistics
Adaway rooted works a treat...
Set Private DNS to dns.adguard.com
