I used rum runner to get unlocked, then I flashed twrp. I then tried to flash vipers rom and install was successfull and when I rebooted the phone kept boot looping at the HTC splash screen. Am I missing something?

You can just flash a stock ruu. But it's very unlikely to get bootloops on a stock rom..

The stuck at wite screen is do to the way some roms even the stock install. The wipe removes some stuff. Not sure why HTC did it that way. As stated above just flash a stock ruu and your fine

Hi sorry for a possibly noob issue but I am having major issues when trying to install a 3rd party kernel on my HTC one x with ARHD 7.2.2,Rom installed. It keeps sticking on the boot screen then rebooting (reboot loop) I have tried installing it (FAUX 005B1) different ways and seems to install fine (clears the cache after every install) but still the same thing. I'm downloading the kernels from the repack section of ARHD FORUM..... Need help :s

Are you flashing the boot.img in fastboot and then the modules in recovery
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Yea I've used afew of the flashing programs aswell tried rebooting before and after the module installation aswell, it only seems to work if I use the kernel supplied with ARHD (the windows bat file installation)

If it reboots after 10 seconds or so, it enters emergency reboot. Have you tried manually flashing the repacked kernel, then "fastboot erase cache", then flashing kernel modules from recovery, then erasing Dalvik under advanced?

I think its work, that eraseing davic seems to have done it. I checked the kernel info on settings and it doesnt say faux123 kernel is that normal? What should it say? Thanks again for all the help

So I probably made some enormous stupid mistake.
Have rooted unbranded hox that didnt install ota (returned to clockwork recovery) and used this instead:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2035203
Installed without errors, and updated without errors, but stuck at boot screen.
Wont come back to recovery with volume down either.
Didnt read the thread as well as I should have and now I need help figuring out how to access recovery!

Make sure that you have v5.8.4.0 cwm recovery.
In recovery go to mounts and storage, then mount usb storage and connect usb cable to computer.

Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Working on it. Will update boot.img and try again.
Sent from my GT-P7500 using xda premium
Will give up and go to sleep.
1. have accessed recovery without problems.
2. have flashed boot.img from the official rom via pc
3. have installed official rom via recovery
4. still stuck at loading screen
and
1. have tried using boot tool
2. locking (unrooting) goes ok
3. ruu starts up ok
4. cant install because of low batt.
have left phone in recovery to load battery over night.
is there anything else im doing wrong?

My problem was partially low battery and partially my phone not accepting update to hboot (probably due to low battery)
It didnt load enough in clockwork so I had to leave it on the "script" for a day...
Tnahx to those who helped!

And i feel your despare.....what if you deinstall rommanager/Rom toolbox (its a crap piece of software anyway) and only reflash a recovery with the fastboot commands, then enter it and check if it works.....
Its a strange issue and the right guy (or girl) has to scroll by and see the problem. This might take time
what do you mean two recoveries? when you boot it goes to one and when you into boot recovery the other?
I did flash everything with fastboot comands. No rom toolbox.

fastboot erase recovery
Is it safe to do that? I have two recoveries but the phone says it has no root access.

you dont need root acces to wipe the recovery .... it has nothing to do with the rom, go ahaead and delete it then flash back one of them
If i do fastboot erase recovery will it erase both recoveries?

Hi
Having successfully installed Viper, Revolution, and CM over the past few days, I thought I would try some others. I loaded JellyBam 10.1. It installed ok, but when I came to boot it, it gets stuck in a loop at the JellyBam logo. I have also lost the ability to boot into recovery, and all my mucking about has lead to a low battery. I am now getting the Battery too low to flash message. I have got around this by loading the Batt Script.bat file from here on the forum. Teh phone is doing its on and off thing to charge up the battery sufficiently so I can flash a new recovery.
Anyone know why I am getting stuck at the Jelly BAm logo?
Regards
Seems like you forgot to flash boot.img
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
...... I flashed boot.img.
Fastboot erase cache ?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
......yep
What recovery are you using? I recommend flashing philz and try getting into recovery again. From there on full wipe everything flash viper Rom and the boot.img , wait till it had enough charge though
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
....why would I install Viper, when it is Jelly Bam I am attempting to install?
Because it obviously doesn't work.Flash that one then there isn't anything different in the process, was just trying to explain
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
...ok.......but I have already used Viper, and had no problem installing it. I know Jelly Bam isn't working, I'm trying to establish why.
Tried installing Jelly Bam again. This time it gets me all the way through set up. When I tap on Finsh, I get error "Setup wizard has stopped working"
Anyone any ideas?
Regards
