Made this thread because impossible for me to write on Beanstalk dev.
Wondering if their will be a fix concerning MMS. Because it works with chompsms. A bit strange isn't it.
So if master Chromium could take a look. And I suppose video recording will never work on Kitkat ??

Strange indeed. You said that its working via chomp sms, but others in my thread are saying that even that is not working
As for video recording, it is possible but tough. As said in this post video recording supposedly works through video cam illusion.
Well... Glad to see that I can use chompsms succesfully
With the correct apn... Perhaps an idea to find out why chomp works... But I know you're overbooked.. Who knows... You might find à fix one day.. Anyway, congratulations for good work on this rom... Keep up going

I'll be annoyed if it does as my other half wanted to skype to her friend but we had no camera other than the xoom and now I got a camera for her laptop as I couldn't convince them both to use googletalk

Yep. Major buggy. Couldn't get vid to work, mute and speaker buttons not working. Still have to sign in and out everytime otherwise it constantly runs (not a bug, I know, but a bloody big annoyance). Uninstalled to an earlier version.
i'd use gtalk if i had friends on gtalk... then again i have no friends on skype either
i'm still not big on the whole video chat to be honest anyway!
It's still got issues. Having to sign in and out all the time. Having to type password each time. Some online contacts don't show for ages. Getting missed calls without so much as a ring. But so far video was very good but as expected big drain on battery due to screen on(video) and skype seemingly running in background.
Overall I'm happier. Now where is that conversion kit to use the back camera as a front camera. What came of the OneMoreFace concept. We could do with something like that nowish.

tried it from my Desire (froyo) to an iPhone/skype.
I received the video from their end, but couldn't send out my video signal :-(
I'm on Reflex S and its no good, my video initializes but then as soon as call is answered, blank screen it just goes black, but I can still receive theirs....
Tried it today, didn't receive nor i could send my video.. Quite dissapointing, but fingers crossed they fix it soon.
Has anyone tried this on the stock 2.3. It didnt work for me.
I tried this on skype this morning managed to get it to work. Seems to look alright on the computer over Wifi. Havent tried over 3G yet. Audio quality does need improving though, but the video seemed alright, a bit slow but alright.
I can report that using InsertCoin CM7 HBOOT/STOCK 1.0.9, the new Skype version does not allow video for me.
I use instead the patched version here:

version 0.6 based on the previous version.
seems to work really fine once you set the resolution to Force 320 X 240.

it doesnt work for me either on IC 1.0.9
i think maybe cause its is an Ace S based rom (DHD i think ?)
Yup, I have Insertcoin 1.09 using latest v06 snq kernel and it seems not working.
works for me here with plain IC 1.0.9 and using v0.6 of the skype mod (not Kernel), but need to set the camera option to "force 320x240" otherwise it will not work.

On my desire with CM7 new skype is not working properly. I can't send video.
Patched version mentioned by Biafolio is working on Cm7 Rc 7. 1 if black screen problem checked in advance settings. Thanks.

It worked for me either instead of version from the Market, but the phone unexpectedly rebooted two times. I guess it's some kind of a bug.
The most strange of all that I was not using the phone at that moment. Well I've uninstalled patched version and now I'm waiting for the next official release from the Market.
MMS worked incoming and outgoing in 3.0 but when I move to 3.5 my MMS show up as slides instead of video? Is there a fix for the stock messaging app?

FYI - I did a full wipe on upgrading to 3.5 following your post instructions.
Not to hijack, but I have the same problem using 3.5.
Also I love good audio - been trying to get the Beats to work in the Music app, but even with headphones it doesn't play and then crashes the Music app.
I also followed the clean install instructions from your original post.

It's going on 2 months since the last post on this thread, but has there been any update on this?
I'm currently running Joelz Prime 3D and was going to try out NilsP's 3.5, but am wondering whether it will do me any good. I'm having the same issue with video coming up as picture slideshow with a .qcp audio file.

I just installed 3.5 on my phone and the wifes phone, Also having the same issue with MMS on the default Message app .. SMS works fine, but it errors out on trying to send a smalll vid clip. (on my phone)
On the wifes phone her sister (Iphone user) tried sending her a vid clip and the messages shows that it recieved a 1k mms but it is not showing it or a link for it..
This is on Verizon if it makes any difference.. and Other than this little glitch... I find this to be a Great ROM it finally made me decide to change from the one I have been using for about 6 months now !!

Hi all,
Facing a problem with my gps 'n' hope you can help:
When launching an apk like AugSatNav or IOnroad, the gps signal keeps cutting and remains on searching.
Only when heading back to normal navigation, the signal comes back....
I think the link is the combination camera+gps (since A/R), but have no solution.
HTC support simply indicates that there's no problem with my gps, great help....

I would go with a CM based rom as it is the only one I have seen that will work with a BT keyboard.
No there is no one click rom install but with enough reading it is very simple
Finally dared. ... and flashed cm7. Indeed via rommanager easy !!!
Bt. Keyboard ok (yesssssss !!!!), but still facing same problem with my gps /camera : as soon as i have a signal and launch either iOnRoad or AugSatNav which needs the camera, the signal gets liste.....
Any idéals? Would be strange that DHD doesn't accept A/R......

Hi Dutch, I have the same problem, I'm trying to video my cycle commute (sick of being near-missed by cars). None of the apps I have tried will allow GPS to work while recording video. Daily Roads states the following, which is the clearest description of the issue i have found [at dailyroads.com/voyager/issues]
"GPS issues on the HTC Desire HD - a GPS fix can not be acquired, or is quickly lost. There seems to be a camera/GPS conflict on the hardware/firmware level in this phone, as all video recording applications affect the GPS signal. Suggested fix: disable GPS in the app's General settings (feature available only starting with version 1.6)."
Not a great help, I know, but at least an indication that there may be nothing we can
do! As my first post I'm a bit wary of noobing the bosses (having watched their very funny video - everyone should have one!) I will poke about a bit more. let me know if you find anything!

Hi, txs for the thread indeed. Txs to Robert found a walkaround being the usage of an external b/t gps.
This works (at least for me).
By the way, no realistic answer from HTC: don't use third party apps, just the preinstalled htc ones and you won't face problems .....

Hi, my GPS also had issues than i used the app GpsFix
and than it worked a lot smoother for me. But I only tested it on the original 2.3.3 rom without root.
The issue is not that gps does not work but that it will not work while the camera is on.

I am not a developer, but I am certain that, yes, this is a very hard thing to do and I really haven't read anything about progress in this regard, since zbuw came up with the initial workaround to get the camera partially working.
The main problem still seems to be that, so much code has changed in ICS that we basically need new drivers from htc or qualcomm in order to get it fully working. I expect that we won't see full camera functionality until a leak comes up from which we can extract the drivers (I don't know enough about the similarities of other devices, hardware-wise, to guess on how likely this is.

That's normally fair game but you're replying to someone who can't even post in the dev section yet, don't make him download backup wipe flash discover it isn't working then restore.. no, to the best of my knowledge (having just tested it and seen it reported elsewhere) recording does not work at this time (unless some wild development has happened in the past couple days).

thanks. I will give that a shot. I kinda need video recording working from time to time, so it will be painful running ROM without it ... is that true that none of ICS ROMs have the video camera working (just pic taking)?
From everything I have read either here or CM, what I believe they are waiting on is drivers from either HTC or Qualcom to further develop the camera. I believe they have it working somewhat. I am NOT a dev by any stretch just passing along what I have read.

Yes this is true, and even picture taking is iffy at best (you have to install third party app and most people can only take non-buggy pictures at VGA (really low) quality)
If you need video recording AT ALL do not use ICS yet.
thanks guys, those statements change the ground. in fact I will wait a little longer until those drivers get released and developers can fix camera issues.
I use camera for pics often and videos occasionally, so I wouldn't like a phone like that at all.
also, what does it mean that GPS is "kinda" working now (Andromadus v10), it's broken or not?
I use Google Navigation frequently whenever I get lost or traveling to current closest (unknown) chain store location and such ... and I kinda rely on that ... I guess I need to wait for a beta ROM, alphas are not for me yet.

Seems to work with lg camera. Get the free version. Use adfree to block the ads. I think I just got it to work. Need to go to blackdroid and get full lg camera to make sure

Hi I have searched hours in forums to find the solution for audio (can't hear opposite party) for voip (viber, kako talk, etc..) but was not able to find one.
There was the post about fliashing radio image and I have followed all the instructions in installing the radio and flashing efs, but did not work.
Is this just one of the bugs of ICS / PCIMG10?
I am using HTC Vision with Andromadus Mimicry ROM 1.5.0..ICS

Besides this bug, i can't use instagram properly becouse you can't take picture by using instagram. Also Facebook page manager is not working. It closes it self. Other than mimircy 1.5 is very nice and smooth and waiting for the new version.
