Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 - back to stock - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need help. Is it possible and how to flash back stock Samsung rom from CM11?
Thank you.

Yeah it's possible using ODIN.
See this thread for general instructions - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471516
NOTE: You will need to download the correct firmware for your country & device which can be found here - http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Search for either T310, T311 or T315 depending on your device.

Last time when i tried to use odin and stock rom, I had problem with custom binary that didn't alow to install stock rom
I'm using philz touch recovery and CM11

.I dont know, as I have never installed it.
Id say.. goto the thread where you found Philz recovery and look there for the answer..
If it's not there, then ask this question there.. They will know how to do it.
Good luck

ok iggy tab... I have a suggestion.. I just read the philz recovery thread.
Seems that to successfully flash philz with Odin, you need to UN-check the auto-reboot feature BEFORE flashing.. Otherwise.. it will re-boot into stock recover by itself..
So, I will suggest that you try this....
Re-flash philz recovery with Odin EXCEPT.. Let Odin aut0-reboot itself with that option box CHECKED instead of UN-Checked..
Hopefully.. it will re-boot into stock recovery..
Then you can re-flash your stock FW with ease..
good luck and follow up with your results!

There is a "How to" thread about this in general SGW topic (here).
You have to do everything like written there, the only thing is you have to use your custom downloaded ROM instead of those.

It's best practice to always backup the whole system via nandroid before doing anything so that you could always revert to your backup just in case things don't go as planned. There are a bunch of apps to backup your apps and data like Titanium Backup and MyBackup.

[Q] Tmobile gn2 brick

Hi I was able to root my tmobile gn2 using a guide which worked perfectly fine. But I wanted to unroot my phone but due to incomplete research and knowledge my phone is now bricked. The guide i followed didn't specifically mention regarding US carriers so I went ahead and tried to unroot with other GT-7100 firmwares available and when I tried to flash with ODIN i kept getting failures and now it is stuck in the "firmware upgrade encountered an issure. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". I tried it was just an error with the firmware so i tried another one, but nonetheless it failed and somehow my binary count went up to 3.
I tried going into recovery but it doesn't work, but I am still able to get into the ODIN download screen.
I'm not really sure what to do at this point.
I would really appreciate any help
Did you try the method here?

Since tmo galaxy note 2 has its own forum only download roms or any other firmwares from there so you do not risk bricking yoyr device.

I actually did look through the thread but I was too afraid to do anything else since I might make my situation worse, but I think I might go ahead and try it.
I just follow the same procedure right? download the zip file and flash it with odin?
Flash CWM Recovery with odin. Once that is done flash rom through the recovery.

Flashed new ROM, lost 3G data

I flashed the MK3 modem, then MOAR v9.0.1 and lost my 3G data.
There are other threads here discussing similar problems.
Some said that the person lost their APN and suggested typing *#06#. I did that and got my MEID (it was not all zeroes).
Every time I type ##72786# now, i get the "SCRTN" screen and it reboots all by itself.
It rebooted, and when it came up again, it started going through the activation process. During Hands-free activation, I get the "4G" icon. Ditto for when it updates the PRL, but the icon disappears when it says it needs to reboot (and it never comes back...)
When I type ##786#, I can view RTN information.
When it comes back up, still no data. What am I missing?
I called Sprint to have them do a "data refresh" or "re-provision". Still no data. I'm stuck. Please help.
Have you tried flashing the mk5 modem? Or updating the prl?

The only thread I see with an MK5 modem is for Virgin Mobile/Boost here. I can't use that if I'm on Sprint, right?
Isn't there something about zeroing out your MSL/MEID and rebooting?

Flashing any recovery or kernel trips the warranty bit. No way around that and no way to reset it I'm sorry to say. Since you've flashed recovery its likely tripped already so flashing kernels and roms won't make any difference anymore. The binary counter doesn't matter as its easily reset. But if you have a custom kernel or recovery it'll retrip to 1 every time you boot.

You can flash Any of these roms via Custom Recovery TWRP and you will do fine.
Do note, some people have mentioned that with a 4.2.x or 4.1.x Roms, sometimes their IMEI goes missing. So take a Nandroid and EFS Backup before hand.

IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just dont know how to remove these soft keys i dont like them NVM GOT IT
Perseus mentioned the nv (efs) backup before. Easiest way to protect yourself is open a terminal emulator and enter this.
su
reboot nvbackup
Device will reboot and create an internal, hidden backup of your nv data. I highly suggest doing this.

How did you do that??

If you mean you made a nandroid backup, that is completely different and does not include any of the NV data. The backup I mentioned is intended to protect you from ever losing your imei in the first place.

I used this method.
Ok , first, never use anything you find in the international models forum for any US model. They are very, very different devices. If you made an image from mmcblk0p3 as stated in that thread, you actually made a copy of sbl2 I'm pretty sure.
Also, the imei, (the important thing here) is not actually stored on the efs partition as it is in some other devices.
Run the command I posted before for the best solution. If NV corruption is ever detected, it should auto restore from this backup during boot up.
And again, stay away from the international forums. Most of the info there will not apply to our devices here and many, many people have bricked due to that mistake.
And delete the backup you made. If you were to try and restore it to your device after updating it at some point, it would most likely cause a brick.
OK thanks I'll get on that . I flashed a remix ROM and everything seems good right now. I'll try to back it up today.

Read up on Kit Kat, you might not want to upgrade. You will lose write access to the SDCard. There are ways to then fix it, but you could lose function in some of your apps. Samsung finally adopted the Android specs for write access.

You must flash thru recovery.
Here the installation steps, but first you must flash a custom recovery like this or other, its up to you.
Installation instructions
- Copy f4ktion_1.4.0-xxx.zip to your SDCARD
- Reboot into CWM recovery
- Choose "Install zip from sdcard"
- Select f4ktion_1.4.0-xxx.zip kernel and confirm installation.

Thank you so much So all i have to do is flash the recovery in Odin.. But since my s4 mini is rooted, do i have to install the S4Mini_RootKit_V2.zip?? i mean if I do, will it conflict with the SuperSU i have previously installed on my device? Or just overwrite it and work like a charm? Sorry I'm asking like too many questions, but since i'm new here i need some guidance
Btw, how do i know if my bootloader is unlocked? Before I buy this s4 mini i owned an Xperia go and to install a kernel i had to unlock the BL.. I don't know if the same thing applies for sammy devices, just asking:angel:

No, we have bootloader unlocked, so you don't need to unlock anything.
No, try with this recovery if you afraid to not doing some conflicts:
[i919x][CWM Advanced Edition] PhilZ Touch
Download philz_touch_6.07.9-serranoltexx.tar.md5
boot into download mode
connect phone in download mode to PC via USB
press start to flash the tar.md5 package
normally, phone should auto-reboot into recovery.
If it reboots into main system and your recovery remains stock, repeat above steps and untick "autoreboot" in odin. Once flash is done, keep pressing the 3 buttons combo to for a reboot into recovery. You should see the new CWM
when in recovery, if you choose option "reboot system now" and you get "yes - disable flash recovery", select that option to avoid stock recovery overwriting cwm

Really, i don't know for sure, BUT in my previous phone (S Advance I9070) i have some errors when i flashed different baseband deodexed.
Make a nandroid backup after you have custom recovery, and you can try it. If something going wrong, restore your backup and all will just like before.

If you flash a custom recovery your device's Knox counter will be triggered to 0x1
