Burstlam's rom is famous in china,from android4.0 to android4.4,even named "the best rom for maguro".
I just build one from sources for gee without any mod.

KNOWN ISSUES and COMMONLY ASK QUESTIONS
1. Don't dirty flash over if you update from other genius works. Make a full wipe before you flash.
if you are updating from an old version of this rom, dirty flash should be fine.
2. Flashing kernels : 3rd party kernel that consist of CM ramdisk(ie flash with a boot.img image) is not compatible with this rom.
3. On restoring App with Titanium Backup: for those who switching roms all the time, it is recommend to wipe dalvik cache again with recovery.
dalvik cache generated by different rom build from different toolchains may not be compatible. You better do it prior to ART conversion.
4. If you flash SuperSu over this rom, pls checked "Enable su during boot" option in menu, otherwise, root privileges won't work
5. For dev reason I have switch on adb logging in developer options by default. Turn it off if you don't need it and somehow it save battery and get better performance.
6. Currently no proper ui restart function presents, dpi changes and some ui changes need to check the system ui restart option (under developer options) or even a reboot(using hot reboot option should work in most cases) .
7. Wifi Display Support : You need to check the option "Wireless display certification" under developer options to work properly.
8. Statusbar Carrier Label popup no matter how : still looking around and not yet solved.
9. Certain apps not showing up in Play Store(e.g. Facebook,Beautiful Widgets) or shows incompatiblity error.

I'm using it, so far so good, very good really. The only fail that I see is the weather notification with cClock and weather over carrier text (don't show) but in general lines excellent work. I was on AOSP because ir doesn't FC me on Dead Trigger 2 but this rom, compared with others CM rom doesn't close it

How long does it take to get past CM bootanim?
I don't know but I think there's a gpu driver missing or something related when I put DT2 in the highest config some textures looks flat

Yes jajaja, with CM gave me FC. But with this rom works fast, really fast. But when I put "OptionsGraphicDetails" to 3 with root browser, the water reflections appears but terrain textures are flat, when I put to 2 the terrain look good without water reflection xD I'm a lil' compulsive with that

What's Broken:
In call volume adjustment works, but not fully well in Speaker mode
MHL output is rotated incorrectly to portrait in horizontal mode (but workaround added since alpha 8 for hw decoded videos/youtube. Use bsplayer from playstore, almost all videos play with it in correct rotation in hwoverlay)
No FM radio app in ROM. But Spirit FM works (free version) - will be fixed in V2.2
ROMS
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy JB. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.

How to flash:
Either follow this BEST flashing tutorial especially made for ICJ by JKURL or follow these short steps:
turn OFF your phone
BACKUP your data using recovery (and SD on first flash just in case)
boot in bootloader
select fastboot mod
flash boot.img via fastboot that is located in the rom.zip: fastboot flash boot boot.img
run this command now: fastboot erase cache
go back to hboot screen
select recovery
full wipe is needed IF you aren't coming from other AOSP 4.2 rom and the best is to use this script!!
flash the rom
flash newest gapps (Google applications) from here -they NEED to be flashed after every ROM flash

How to flash:

The stock kernel in ICJ is from the great work of neo. This is a 3.1 kernel which needs atleast hboot 1.31. This ROM is protected for those who are on a lower hboot, it simply won't flash. More info and how-to use are here and here.

No, not native. But there is a app called Spirit FM on XDA that should work.

Yes (Since version ICJ42 2.5), but before you use it you need to turn of usb debugging under developer options. This also means you no longer have the /0/ folder on the sd-card.
Does Photosphere work on this ROM?
No, but there is a modded camera going around which can. You can find it here (credits: mattoffshore). Just flash it trough recovery. This will NOT overwrite the default camera from ICJ.
Are there even more mods included?
Yes, you also have a CRT-OFF animation when screen goes off. The settings for this are at ROM Control under the section General UI.
No way, are there even more mods included?
Oh yes, to be honest I lost track what is included and what not (good sign btw). PIE Controls is included since version 2.7(the link shows what PIE Controls is for).
Is this ROM Linaro compiled?
No, not anymore. It seems Linaro was giving trouble with atleast auto-rotation (and perhaps even reboots). ICJ version 2.5 is completly clean from Linaro.
Inverted Gapps:
The inverted Gapps by TUN_SD can be find here. Keep in mind this gets more regular updated then the original Gapps. It is reported on older versions some apps like dialer etc. won't show in the app drawer. If you encounter this issue it is wise to download a newer one. The upload date should be in the the title of the file.

Issues:
Baseband issues for Vodafone branded phones/Middle East:
Finally someone managed to get his hands on the complete Vodafone branded radio. As I thought this fixes issues for people who have bad GSM/3G/HSDPA on Vodafone branded devices, and in some cases for HOX's in the Middle East. You can grab the download at the buttom. Thanks to codexc for sharing the files!
Also the baseband from the 3.20.401.1 (5.1204.162A.29) update is included now in ICJ (version 3.1).
GPU Rendering "issue":
By default forced gpu rendering is off. This could lead to some graphical issues and sometime slower framerates (with gaming). To turn it on go to: "Settings" -> "Developer Options" -> "Force GPU Rendering". Turning this on could lead to the fact some pictures uploaded here on XDA are not actually shown when using the official XDA app. Disable this once again and to fix this.
Theme issues:
Some people are having issues while changing their theme. A known solution is switch back to system theme (and set back original DPI if you have DPI issues), do a reboot and then try to apply the theme you want again (and if you have DPI issue you can now change it back).
Toggles issues:
If they don't work at all, simply flash newest GAPPS (also mentioned at top of FAQ). Try again and now they should work!
Music lag (while screen off) issues:
Turn "Increase Audio Min freq" to on. It's located in IceCold Custom Settings.
GPS issues:
First see if the GPS icon appears in the notification bar. If it doesn't, there is a great chance that you flashed a custom kernel and didn't flashed the right modules (or a kernel with a broken GPS) or that it could be a hardware failure. If you do have the icon appearing in the notification bar and still have issues try this:
* Download app called GPS status from market (Note: I removed GPSfix due the new airpush ads.)
* Go to a place were you normally wouldn't have any problems with fixing location
* Start the app
* If your GPS isn't broke you should get connection to multiple satellites.
* Let it run and see if it gets a fix now
* it will also show the error value which indicates the correction of the measurement
* Now try again with any other app, it should be working now
ADB issues:
Sometimes for no reason ADB stops to work. This could have many reasons. First of all check if it is enabled at dev options. If it doesn't work after that it's mostly the shortest way to uninstall and reinstall the Android SDK. In some cases downgrades (older SDK) could work to.
WiFi issues compared to Sense:
Alot of users are reporting that they have less signal with WiFi on AOSP based roms. This is not true, I even tested it myself. It is true that AOSP displays less bars then on Sense, but the signal strength is still the same. If you really have WiFi issues perhaps check if you have one of the faulty batches which has bad wiring at the right upper corner of your phone (more on xda about this, not gonna explain whole thing again). Otherwise, set you battery icon to text only. You should see better values now.
Ringtone/Sound issues:
You missed a call because you didn't hear your ringtone? Or you did you put on a song in a noise free room and still don't hear it? This (AwesomeBEATS) and this (Acid Mod) could be your solution. How to install and how to use are in the linked threads.
Battery issues:
If you are experiencing battery drains you could use Wake lock detector to what apps are causing this. At start of the app you will see the stats at once.
* Disable locations services
* Turn off/delete Google Now
* Longer/higher auto-sync values
* Watch out for 3rd party apps/widgets draining
* Keep in mind this isn't Sense!!

Multi touch and gaming
This is fixed in ICJ 3.2, by default! Due to touch calibration some games that require multi touch won't work well. There is a simple way to disable touch calibration with a single command line for the terminal. Just execute the code below. To set it on again just echo a 1. Or if you are on a newer version of the ROM you can also disable it at "Settings -> Device options -> Calibration Control".

Disable Caller ID:
The setting for Caller ID is located here "Phone App --> Menu --> Settings --> Additional Settings --> Caller ID"
Changing kernel and modules:
For some reason you might want to switch the kernel. First of all, DON'T FORGET THE MODULES AND REPACK! You can use the online kernel repacker, but there is also a option to do it yourself. With this guide you should be able to do that. What they don't mention is that when you install Cygwin you need to install the perl libaries to get this script to work. You only need the working ramdisk of ICJ and the kernel without ramdisk to get this work. If you split the boot.img the ramdisk is located in the out folder, generated on excute of the extractboot command. Copy this content to the kernel you want to use, so you replace the content in the out folder (you need to extractboot the other kernel to). After this run the packboot command and your new kernel will be named boot_new.img.
Changing governor and cpufreq:
For tweaking cpufreq's and voltage I recommend to use Trickster Mod. Also Performance Control is removed again from version (2.5.1/2.6) as it turns out to be a battery drainer again.
3-dot button:
"Settings" -> "Rom Control" -> "General UI" -> "Show menu UI overflow".
Fast charge:
Fast charge is a charging method for USB which makes charging faster by highing up the voltages levels, it now is compared to AC speed of charging. To use it is quite simple, as fast charge is activated by a statusbar toggle. Just enable the toggle (Settings -> Rom Conrol -> Enabled Toggles -> Fast Charge). If your phone is now connected with a USB it will "fast charge".
Change bootanimation if option in Rom Control doesn't work:
The bootanimation of this rom is located at system/media/bootanimation.zip. You can simply change it by overwrite the bootanimation.zip before you flash the rom. Altough do make sure you have a bootanimation with the right resolution. If you want a nice black and white AOKP bootanimation from djcsurf click here. Here is the original bootscreen of AOKP located (from old ICJ builds). Just flash in recovery!
Changing DPI - Play Store Issues (Multi DPI Play Store):
If you change the DPI of your phone some apps won't show up in Play Store. For this issue there is a multi DPI Play Store. You can find it here. In case you want to know what a "Inverted Play Store" is, this is a Play Store with the opposites colors (white = black, black = white). Also keep in mind that Google can autoupdate your Play Store, then you need to reflash a NEWER version of the multi DPI mod. Also make sure you flash multi DPI Play Store after you flashed GAPPS.

what I figured from the rest.. it's either GPS or BT... very dependant between... but BT still wasn't fixed by anone..
Trip's BT turns ON, but it can't connect to any devices...

Maybe you should make two versions: one with BT and one with GPS. Or if that's too messy, you could make a poll and see what is more important to the people.

it's patch originally made for my Desire HD rom IceClodSandwich by Robin... I just did Setting option so you can chose it
I'll be adding that to ROM of course, but I want at least for the first version to be as pure aokp as possible.. it lowers the possibility of bugs and issues... at least until we sort OneX bugs on 4.2 base.. clear?

Yea, but I saw Trip's post about an either-or situation with GPS and BT. And I think that you'll have the BT up and running in no time, so it's gonna be either GPS or BT. That's just an assumption, it could be wrong and you could make both work

1. Don't dirty flash over if you update from other genius works. Make a full wipe before you flash.
if you are updating from an old version of this rom, dirty flash should be fine.
2. Flashing kernels : 3rd party kernel that consist of CM ramdisk(ie flash with a boot.img image) is not compatible with this rom.
3. On restoring App with Titanium Backup: for those who switching roms all the time, it is recommend to wipe dalvik cache again with recovery.
dalvik cache generated by different rom build from different toolchains may not be compatible. You better do it prior to ART conversion.
4. If you flash SuperSu over this rom, pls checked "Enable su during boot" option in menu, otherwise, root privileges won't work
5. For dev reason I have switch on adb logging in developer options by default. Turn it off if you don't need it and somehow it save battery and get better performance.
6. Currently no proper ui restart function presents, dpi changes and some ui changes need to check the system ui restart option (under developer options) or even a reboot(using hot reboot option should work in most cases) .
7. Wifi Display Support : You need to check the option "Wireless display certification" under developer options to work properly.
8. Statusbar Carrier Label popup no matter how : still looking around and not yet solved.
9. Certain apps not showing up in Play Store(e.g. Facebook,Beautiful Widgets) or shows incompatiblity error.

Are you by chance running Exposed Framework? Exposed Framework is not compatible with ART.

I believe the OP is on the other side of the International Date Line from us Verizon users in the US, so most of his references to dates will be different. What doesn't vary is the version, in this case 2.8.2.

KNOWN ISSUES and COMMONLY ASK QUESTIONS
1. Don't dirty flash over if you update from other genius works. Make a full wipe before you flash.
if you are updating from an old version of this rom, dirty flash should be fine.
2. Flashing kernels : 3rd party kernel that consist of CM ramdisk(ie flash with a boot.img image) is not compatible with this rom.
3. On restoring App with Titanium Backup: for those who switching roms all the time, it is recommend to wipe dalvik cache again with recovery.
dalvik cache generated by different rom build from different toolchains may not be compatible. You better do it prior to ART conversion.
4. If you flash SuperSu over this rom, pls checked "Enable su during boot" option in menu, otherwise, root privileges won't work
5. For dev reason I have switch on adb logging in developer options by default. Turn it off if you don't need it and somehow it save battery and get better performance.
6. Currently no proper ui restart function presents, dpi changes and some ui changes need to check the system ui restart option (under developer options) or even a reboot(using hot reboot option should work in most cases) .
7. Wifi Display Support : You need to check the option "Wireless display certification" under developer options to work properly.
8. Statusbar Carrier Label popup no matter how : still looking around and not yet solved.

this rom is so good it just might cure my addiction to flashing
Possibly a small bug... when I reboot it shows the carrier even though I have it selected not to... to fix I just go into settings select and then de select the carrier setting
I have had several good first ROM impressions over the life of this phone but DAMN this is a GREAT build (latest in OP). I just finished setting it up but every feature seems to be working and its flying right from boot. The color settings are pretty much identical to how I would set mine. GREAT JOB and THANKS!! Keep them coming and I will keep carrying this phone along with my HTC One running ViperROM KitKat. Its as if this phone got a second life!

I love this ROM and so far it works great but....nearly all of my games such as real racing 3 and candy crush and a few others shows they are not comparable with my phone..this happened in the 21 version by the previous developer and the problem was corrected in the 22 version..I would keep this ROM but without the use of my games and a few select apps its a deal breaker..can you fix this?

Nevermind I fixed it myself..I'm amazed how developers always miss a few simple things..I guess you guys just work on so many builds at once you kinda overlook a few settings by accident.. Its understandable.. Thanks for all your countless hours and hard work because without you guys us toroplus users wouldn't have KitKat!

What was the fix? I want to get my NBA JAM going and I am not changing ROMs. I am loving this setup!
Edit...I am testing Djdarkknight's upcoming KlearKat theme. After he releases it will be his famous inverted black and white BlakKat:thumbup::thumbup:

its actually an easy fix..change your LCD density to 320 which is stock on the toroplus nexus if your on a different phone then youll need to find out what you standard density (DPI) is.now go to settings..apps...all...google play store...clear cache...clear data..I did the same thing with google play services but im not sure you really need too..now that your dpi/density is set to stock size reboot then go to google play and install your game..once installed you can return your density to what it was and your game should still work..my games did anyway..on the downside to changing your dpi to stock this will rearrange the icons on your home screen..you will have 4 rows of icons instead of 5..it was worth it to me because several games that I play did not work with this rom....after I did this all the games now showed compatible and downloaded and worked love that theme!
did I see your battery time right at 21 hours? im burning 10% of battery life and hour if the phone is sleeping! that's with everything hibernated using greenify..please share your secrete

Well like I said I test for Djdarkknight and Team Blackout. They have an app called Team Blackout Updater that's usually in the Play Store but currently isn't for some reason. Go to TeamBlackout.com and switch to as many inverted apps as possible.
. it has been shown in testing to nearly double battery life on SAMOLED screens. Here's a sample from the app of what is available. Unfortunately there are 2 versions... A free one and a paid one. Mine is the paid version so I can't post the app link. I may have the free version on my NS4G. If I do I will post a link then you can update to the completely redone app. The site has all of these and more...

Also as far as getting good deep sleep, make sure you use the screen lock with the "zzz's" it puts phone into deep sleep immediately. I literally tap that last when I turn my screen off. Its 5th from the left in my screenshot.

Hopefully it will continue. I know burstlam just took it over from Justin Xu and the most current build is running flawlessly for me. I imagine as new commits are added by the CM Team there will be new builds of this ROM.....fingers crossed

Dirty Unicorns is a custom ROM built with stability in mind and optional customization. The idea to start this ROM began out of pure boredom around 4.1.2 on the EVO 3D and later turned into a form of an addiction (a good one) to see where we could go from there. We have since expanded to more devices to include the HTC One, Nexus 5, SGS4 and many more. We quickly realize that users loved what we were doing as well as other developers because it was done the right way. 3. Move anything that you think is important over to your Desktop or upload it to dropbox or whatever (pictures, music, etc)
4. Backup your apps via Titanium backup or equivalent app and either upload them to dropbox or onto your Desktop
5. Reboot into recovery
6. Wipe everything. This doesn't mean just system or factory settings. This means EVERYTHING!
Tap on Wipe/Advanced Wipe and check the following and swipe to wipe
- Dalvik Cache
- Cache
- Data
- Internal Storage
- System
- MicroSD (some devices don't have this option)
7. Move the ROM zip over to your sdcard either by mounting USB storage or adb
8. Flash the ROM zip
9. Let it boot
10. Reboot back into recovery
11. Flash whatever GAPPS (as long as it's 4.4.X)
12. ENJOY!!

Tempted to give this a try, which gapps package is most similar to the liquid gapps? That package has everything I want, and none of the stuff I don't.

The ROM looks great in the pics but I cannot get it to flash. I did a complete wipe and I'm running TWRP 2.8.0.2 which is the latest. It seems to sit on the formatting /system when I try to flash. Gave it 40 minutes and still no change. Any ideas?

Twrp 2.8.x.x for m7vzw is awful and I do not suggest it for installing any of my roms, or any rom really.
I highly suggest using what works and works well, which is Twrp 2.7.1.2 from MDmower or most any other 2.7.x.x version.
2.8 still has major issues with most of the current roms for m7vzw and will either hang forever and eventually install or simply just fail.
This rom flashes in less then a minute using Twrp 2.7.x.x, as does any Aosp based rom.
Didnt see a Q/A thread on this rom yet but, is their a way to turn off the slide up for google search. it keeps happening to me when im trying to use the HTC logo as a menu. Other than that, this rom is a nice twist on AOSP. i actually uninstalled xposed framework because it has everything i want in a rom.
What Gapps do you recommend with this Rom?

There is no built in option.
You can install the kernel app of choice.

Have to root your device, install build.prop editor and replace "Lt26i" to "nozomi" before installing the rom.
Remember to do wipe full data.

i am on stock partition...so can i use the bank gapps you recomended..its about 347 mb and i think its too big for stock partition...waiting for ur reply to flash...and is the double tap to wake function included in this rom?
You can flash any gapps as you like. Since I don't own this device, can you help me test to flash the gapps on stock partition? thanks

i am on stock partition...so can i use the bank gapps you recomended..its about 347 mb and i think its too big for stock partition...waiting for ur reply to flash...and is the double tap to wake function included in this rom?

I installed recommended gapps. Its to big, "google play" and "google" is the only apps that got installed (no calendar, browser, etc..)

Double tap to wake function is in this rom and it works ... (not sure if it works bad or im just taping to often and it starts to ignore taps)

Yea, I think the gapps file comes big in size because of some specific files for Google devices and the Facelock. It will not install everything inside for this phone.
And ya, simpleaosp does not include some aosp apps like browser, calender. They prefer the Google ones maybe.
But don't worry, S♥NE will make a flashable zip as an addon at post #3 for those who prefer aosp apps

have u also the stock partition?if yes and u flashed the recommended gapps then plaease share ur experience here so the OP can solve or recommend the right gapps to the users having stock partition. i am testing with some other gapps and will share my experience soon.

Installed from stock firmware (with root, busybox, CWM v6.0.3.0)
Problems i had:
1. Had to edit build prop (from device lt26i to nozomi).
2. Recommended gapps was too big to fully install but no errors in installation (it's the only problem with gapps i see).
3. Used "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip" for root, failed (after that, installed superSu from market, still cant get root ).

1. I will remove this line so that no need to edit build.prop anymore when coming from stock firmware.

If you want to integrate WakeUp application to control tap to wake you can sync :
https://github.com/mickybart/android_packages_apps_WakeUp
and include WakeUp application during the build.
Installed ROM with pa gapps pico (uni) 43 mb only with no problems and the ROM running smoothly. But I could not see SMS app on my app drawer...please take a look on the attached screen shot.and although I flashed SuperSU 2.49 but there is also no SuperSU app is there

Yes, there is no app for sms and superuser is embeded in settings. I think the launcher has been configured to hide the super user app. You can install google messenger app for sms.
