Hey there,
Just tried to install the new Google Now Launcher / Google Experience Launcher on my phone. I am running stock first of all.
Tried almost all apks for the new Google search and Google home app. But when I select the Google launcher, I will just end up with forced closes. Changing the phones language and/or Google search language just won't work for me. Same problem with all settings and apks.
Anybody here using or having used the new launcher on their Gs?

Please try this. If this does not work then it probably doesn't work on stock.

Maybe try the new launcher that Google posted and see how that works? It's currently only for GPe and Nexus devices, but I'm sure it's been leaked on the internet SOMEWHERE.. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.launcher
I actually have had the same problem as the OP and would like the launcher, so I will be searching myself and seeing how this works. Will keep you posted.

No i will never try to flash an Lg, never again...
Strangely enough, I have the same problems. I want to know how LG made this not work without issuing a single update. -.-
Sorry to disappoint everyone, but I don't think that the new launcher will work on our phones until it is released for everyone via the Play Store.
KitKat only
I think the Google Now Luncher only works on KitKat Roms

Probably incompatible, missing libraries.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that both the launcher and the new google now seem to work fine on the LGOG.
Everything is pretty snappy and there are some cool new features.
Wanted to let you know, the new google now has something similar to the "always listening" on the Moto X and it's really cool.
Haven't run into any issues, but if any of you guys do, go ahead and post them!
Steps:
Manual
1.Download and install PreBuiltGmsCore.apk, Velvet.apk, and GoogleHome.apk like any other apk.
2.Using a file manager as root, copy libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so over to /system/lib and overwrite if prompted to.
By Flashing
1.Download and flash GOOGLEHOME.zip.
2.Using a file manager as root, copy libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so over to /system/lib and overwrite if prompted to.
New 4.4 apks including Hangouts, new camera, new keyboard, new google now and launcher:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-google-home-android-4-4-launcher-apk/
libgoogle_recognizer_jni_l.so:
https://copy.com/aGcxY (Thanks jblazea50)
Confirmed working on:
Carbon ROM
Slimbean
CM 10.2
Troubleshooting:
-If you can't find /system/lib, try a different file manager
-If Google Now force closes, try changing the language to English UK (though this doesn't seem to make a difference on the LGOG)
I can't seem to get Google now to go past "initializing". Tried changing the language to no avail

To get Google now/search to work, you need to take the file from the zip and place it in system/lib and change permission.

I am hearing that this thing is pretty ugly due to it being for a 1080 screen and most phones are still 720.
If you have it loaded can you attest to the "ugliness" due to the screen difference. maybe a screenshot?
I installed all 3 apks in the order specified but when i choose the new launcher, i get google search fc. I tried to change the language for google now while using the lg launcher but it didnt work. Also tried to copy that file to system/lib and it didnt work either.

Did you change permission on the lib file? Also, do a reboot afterwards. Remember you have to install the Google Services app also.
I'm on Optimus v4.4 and installed all 3 parts and get Google search has stopped working when trying to switch to the launcher.

I changed permission on the lib file to rw r r. Then rebooted and still the same. What is the google services app? Is that one of the 3 apk files or something additional?

same issue here I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling manually pushing the files and everything in it still force stops.
Seems to be tied to Android 4.1.X I am still digging around for a fix.

Has anyone gotten this to work? I've tried everything and I can't get this launcher to work??? I can get google now to work but when trying to open the launcher to work it says "google search has stopped" Idk I'm about to give up...
idk how i got here...
Same boat, FC Google Search when trying to use the launcher. Everything else seems to be working, saying "Ok Google" works if Google Now is open, but have tried all fixes for the launcher and still get FC's.
I'm gonna try to make a list of ROMs that the launcher works on (after file overwrite at /system/lib).
Could the people that it works for please let us know what ROM they're on?
Just as I suspected. Only works on AOSP/CM based ROMs for now.

Google Home Launcher. Files and instructions. Should work on most Jelly Bean phones.
Download the files.
1st - PrebuiltGmsCore.apk (Google Play Services) first.
2nd - Velvet.apk (Google Now)
3rd - GoogleHome.apk
Place the lib file in System/lib folder and fix permissions (owner , group and others should be checked under READ)
(ONLY owner should be checked under WRITE)
Reboot.
Thats all I did. If OK Google doesn't work do this.....
Settings - voice - offline speech recognition- install language of choice. I use English. - switch to english UK and perform a search and then swich back to normal language. That shoult make everything functional. If not.....I tried. Works for me!

Thanks for the icons. However, the backgrounds aren't transparent. Could you perhaps provide us with versions with a transparent background? Thanks again.
are the apk being installed just like regular apk's or are they being pushed to a specific folder?
Nvm got it to work, looks like it has potential, it would be good if we could set our own settings for the drawer and if we could hide certain apps

So when I tried to install PrebuiltGmsCore.apk, it said "application not installed", but I went thru and installed everything else, rebooted and it seems to be working ok. Should I be worried?
This hack is awesome. Makes the ROM 2 x faster.
One other question,
I've noticed on my home screen tile it doesn't have number indicators next to the stock e-mail and SMS icons to show how many items are unread. Is this by design? Any way to fix this?
i believe that is how its designed.. hopefully they will add that feature at a later date
How to make the status bar transparent?
Has anyone been having some random reboots? Seems to happen when the battery gets lower then 10%. Happens maybe once a day.

installed this and it looks awesome but search doesn't want to stay fixed after doing the language setting trick. I change the settings and it works great after that but after exiting the app it reverts back with force close. to be honest I'd rather just have the always on okay google search feature with nova prime launcher. the google launcher has little to offer in terms of customization.

Hi here is the dialer from newley released android 4.4.3.
In my opinion has a nice new UI
Just install as a regular app. Tested on xt1032 CM11. SHOULD work on any 4.4 ROM though.
Please Note. This will not replace the existing dialer, unless you manually copy to /system/priv-app/ and set permissions as -rw-r--r Then delete dialer.apk from same folder. Reboot. Done.

Pushed manually to Priv-App, keept standard CM11 dialer, cleared data and cache on both = Google 4.4.3 dialer works as it should!
