Hello.
I am new with Androids, and i accidentally erased the OS.
Now, when i start my phone, its just "SAMSUNG" screen on, and i tried to install OS with Odin, and its same...
If someone could help me, it will be nice
Do you have a nandroid backup? If so, you can easily restore the phone by turning it off, turning it back on, and then hold the down volume button. You can restore it in the options provided. If that doesn't work, try a factory reset and then try the steps to install another ROM.

1: Don't panic!
2: Did you install a custom Recovery (CWM or TWRP)?
3: Please describe exactly what you were doing, were you trying to update your phone to ICS,(the latest official firmware)
I installed new ROM...
It's all cool now
But thank you anyway

I do nandroid back up but it says that "E:unknown volume for path [tar xvf/sdcard/nandroid/blah blah. but my nandroid is at the sdcard internal one, then i reboot it and it just never rebooted, it was stock at the Samsung W logo i need help.
i tried to research on what happen to the sd card on why it says unknown volume and i saw that it can be because the usb debugging mode if off, is that what made the problem? is there any way to enable the usb debugging in recovery or using pc? i cant turn on my phone because im afraid that it might go low battery before i flash the stock firmware.. i need help.
Okay I assume you have a custom recovery installed?
Well unplug it, Pull the battery out wait 10seconds then put it back in hold the Home (middle) button and volume up and hold the power button till the screen comes on, continue to hold the volume and home button until you get into recovery and then from there you should be able to re-flash a rom as it's somehow got corrupted

how can i re-flash a rom there? i did the flashing on odin the whole flash with firmware, baseband, kernel, etc. and can you tell me why the restore ddnt work? is it really needed to enable USB Debugging Mode when restoring a back up? and one more thing, i flashed the wrong firmware last night, i think the asian firmware on THE-E thread was for chinese and its 2.3.5 only, i found a firmware for the philippines at samfirmware.com, i would like to ask if i can flash it using recovery? or i still need to use odin? however the stock rom from THE-E's thread was smooth, smoother than my previous stock.. ill try to hang on this rom a lil bit and if i got satisfied maybe i won't flash anything again hitted thanks

There are roms flashable in CWM. Roms that are compiled as zip. Just place it in your internal storage, reboot to recovery, look for the "name of rom".zip then flash away. There are cases that your back up isnt compatible with rom you just flashed. Hope this helps.

my bad, i mean firmware not rom.. and the back up is from the rom that i use, its just the USB Debugging mode wasnt enabled that cause the volume to be unreadable.. the sad thing is there no one who knows or its really impossible to enable it without the phone turning on made me opt to flash a new firmware just to revive from bootloop

I dont think usb debugging is necessary for creating nandroid backups. Well if thats the case, try flashing the same rom, by then you can bypass bootloop and tick usb debugging and try restore again. Btw I assume youre using CWM.

What app did you use to make your nandroid backup (so we can avoid it)? Have tried CWM nandroid backup and it works without having to enable USB deugging in both stock and rooted configurations (DXLM3).
I seem to have messed my SGNII again I didn't do anything strange - just wanted to reboot into recovery, but instead of pressing pwr+volup+home I thought it easier to do from an app. So I searched for an app to do that and found that Titanium backup as option to reboot into recovery. So I selected reboot->recovery, and my phone rebooted and now it is stuck on SGNII GT-N7100 screen... I pulled battery out and nothing, tried to press pwr+volup+home, nothing, pwr+voldn+home works and gets me into dowload mode.
What should I do? Pls, ASAP I need my phone!!! Thanx!
Really strange. I suggest you to boot into Safe mode to see if you can go to the OS or flash wia Odin your custom recovery if you have one or your stock version.
The global solution would be to flash a stock firmware of course.

You have Andromizer, Rom Toolbox, Rom manager...
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
There are some more apps that you can go into recovery for example an app called "Quick Boot (Reboot)" if you don't want to use rom manager, or rom toolbox.
And I had strange issue with Titanium Backup too, just when I used SlimBean Weekly Rom and I wanted just to backup my Nova launcher and power toggles apps, so strangely my phone went into bootloop and I had to wipe everything to get it to work again...
I was running Hyperdrive and ota update came out so i downloaded it to the phone and installed it. it updated ok but it wiped everything off the phone. I had allot of valuable info especially my passwords and usernames and bank info in the app M Secure. So....I did tell it to back up my info before starting the update. so I went into recovery ( TWRP) to go back to the old version. when the process was done it said it was successful and I hit the reboot button. It never rebooted, just turned off and now it wont come back on. not even into recovery, Any Ideas would be appreciated.Thanks.

I'd start with a clean slate. If you have a custom recovery then take that, wipe everything and then re-flash last known stable version. If the recovery is gone then start with Odin flash of the recovery in download mode.

Thanks. It seems my recovery is gone so im going to try start over with Odin,
After running hyperdrive, it may not boot without a factory reset once you Odin flash the Stock firmware.
Alternatively, you can first try to flash CWM or TWRP with odin, then try again to get into it. If that doesn't help, then go with the stock firmware.

Dude i had the same problem the first time i flashed hyper drive my fix was i had to load a stock firmware for our phone non rooted and reformat using the pit file for our phones i dont know why it happened but it got probresivly worse and its wierd becasue mine would stay on in download mode if i kept pressing the power button. Befor some says that was my issue bs because as soon as i reset my phone with the stock tar and pit file the probl disapeared.
First off, i want to thank those of you who have helped me out. I am going to go back to stock with odin but its been a while since i used Odin, I have 3.7 on my lap top now. I cant seem to find a food reference with the correct links to get the things i need to go back to stock or even to try to put in a new recovery. I also have both CWM folders and TWRP on the computer also. If anyone can point me in the right direction for a good guide on using Odin I would be grateful.I have looked and looked but everything I find is instructions for those who have a recovery, Thanks again
There's plenty of them here on xda. On this forum search for root66 , a thread by Mr Robinson. It has a good guide.

Hi, I had a similar problem a day ago, I corupted CWM and couldn't boot into android, When i started my phone a samsung logo appeared and then black screen, I could access download mode ( Power button, Volume - and home button ) So all you do after you enter download mode is download Odin multi downloader, and a flashable ClockworkMOD recovery, ( PM me if you want links ) and flash it into the phone, after that just reboot the phone and you will be just fine.
Press the Thanks button if i helped

I did this but, still not succeeded. Do you suggest to try to download the stock ROM instead of the CWM?
I'm trying to download the CWM not the stock ROM.
Thank you guys.

Hey,
First put your phone into download mode and plug it in to your PC and make sure Odin recognizes it, then add Ancora.ops in the OPS window and the recovery.tar.md5 in the One package window. Also make sure that One package , Auto reboot and Protect OPS are checked, you should uncheck reset time because i've hear that it is causing some problems. Then just click the " Start " button and sit back, you phone will be back on in few minutes.
Just a question : Did you have any android installed when you corrupted the recovery? If yes, after you flashed the recovery the phone will reboot and will boot into android, if not then just flash the rom file if you already have one in your sdcard/internal storage.
Your phone is soft-bricked, don't worry, it will be back and running again
I just corrupted my recovery on my phone on purpose to try if the cwm recovery works. And yes, it worked, so it should work on your phone too.
Good luck flashing your recovery, Please answer back because I want to know if this method worked.
Here are the files, just extract the rar file
Finally i have KitKat!!
Finally Solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After long days and hundred tries, it works finally. The story is as below:
1- I failed to download the CWM 6.0.4.5 directly in this state using ODIN,
2- I downloaded the stock (Yes old 2.3.6 ginger bread ROM) using ODIN. However this version keep rebooting and never completed the start up.
3- With ROM installed now (even it's not booting), i tried to download older version of CWM using ODIN (CWM 5.0.4). It was successful!!
4- I tried to do the restore for my old system, but it failed as i did backup with newer version.
5- I flashed Monster ROM (4.2.2), it works wonderful.
6- I downloaded the CWM 6.0.4.5 finally using ODIN.
7- Now i'm using 4.4.2 on my mobile finally.
Advice: Never do a flashing to your mobile when you are not fully concentrating what you are doing. Also, make sure to download the right tool and ROM for your device.
Thank you for everyone who tried to help me.

If the phone freezes after Aroma installer starts it is probably a bug with recovery. Try flashing older version of Philz (v5.x).
