First of all, my phone is not rooted. I downloaded the Samsung official 4.3 Unbranded ROM for my country from HERE but I have no idea how to manually flash it without tripping KNOX and voiding my warranty.
Does anyone know how I can safely flash it?
I think that tecnically you can't... You probably have to install one of the ROMs in the development section that don't have Knox... You have some options... But that would imply rooting, changing recovery, etc etc... The thing is when you install the ROM you don't "trip" Knox... You only do that if you try to root it, change recovery etc. So if you're NOT planing to root or use custom roms, AT LEAST until you're warranty expires, you can install the software even via Kies Air and don't lose you're warranty... ow! By the way I can't confirm you if you're source is good... The "official source" for "official firmware" is http_etc_samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N7105T (can´t post links... just substitute "http_etc_" for the "htp://www"), at least for your model that I assume that is GT-N7105T and not GT-N7105 or GT-N7100... But even with that you need aditional software (on the PC: Odin, or, on the phone itself: Mobile Odin Pro, which requires root) Once again I can be mistaken...

I'm currently using stock MF6 firmware and there is no indication of the Knox warranty void flag in download mode. Does anyone know which firmware introduced this flag on the S4 mini or is it not implemented, yet? I'm asking because I want root access and need to know which prerooted firmwares I can choose from without this flag.

As far as I can tell, there's no Knox flag known on any S4 mini firmware or variant. Definitely mine has no sign of it either. And from what I read, at least ith the S4 it was never transparent, only when the flag appared could you kill it, in older firmwares no matter what you did the flag was never set until you upgraded and there was something considered wrong then.
4.4 is supposed to bring Knox for the mini so it may bring the flag, which could be easier, harder or the same to avoid as the S4, only time will tell I guess. If it's similar, hopefully enough will have been learnt by the time S4 mini get 4.4 that we can easily get around it.

(I9195XXUA)MG3 (which is 4.2.2 / JDQ39). It's currently the latest for my CSC. I may root soon perhaps using a prerooted firmware (since mine is so old) but I'm waiting to see if anyone has tried it on a 16GB version. I didn't mention before but I guess it's clear now I have an I9195 but I haven't seen any mention of Knox flag seen for any variant of the S4 mini on current firmwares.
My s4 mini (I9195) came with firmware MF7 and was upgraded OTA to MG8.
After that I flashed with Odin to MH2 (Android 4.2.2).
Thereafter I flashed a custom rom (Slim with 4.3.1).
Where and how can I see whether my Knox warranty void might be 0x1 now.
And what if I flash back with Odin to firmware MF7?
Is that still possible without a later upgrade problem?

New Rom XXUBMJ7 whit KNOX bootloader (aboot.mbn) and aplications.
After flash this Rom we have on Download Mode:
KnoxKernelLock: 0x0
KnoxWarrantyVoid: 0x0
Like on Note 3 N9005, if we flash something, customer, root, KnoxWarrantyVoid: go to 0x1 and this is not reversible.
To Root
The Root-Kit-V1 install all superuser, SU and busybox but after reboot the SuperSU can't access to system, KNOX not permit.
To solve this we must flash after, on recovery the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip from Chainfire. After we have root alright.
My case like on Note 3:
I not need the KNOX, the phone is only for me, then after root I delete all KNOX apk + odex from system/app.

My current device is a Captivate, and I'm thinking about upgrading to an i747. After doing some research in the forums I found out about knox, but find it a little bit confusing, let's see..
1) Has there been any known cases of devices that were shipped with a knox bootloader?
2) In a i747, what does a knox bootloader look like in Download Mode (as opposite to a non-knox one, does it say knox warranty void or something else?)
3) This is where I'm most confused. If you've got a knox bootloader, then you can't downgrade it, and can't flash anything except for new official otas? would anything except the ota void it? can you flash CM11 for example? and if it's void, that means that it's a hard brick? or does it still work? Can you go foward if it's void (again, like cm11)?
4) Let's say the one I get comes with 4.0, I can root and move freely between CM and stock as long as I don't flash 4.3?
I also have the option to go for a S4 Mini, but given it has the same issue and similar hw.. love the S3 screen

Samsung s3, s4, Note 3, etc. that shipped with 4.3 will include Knox.
If the device shipped with Knox, you will see something like warranty bit in the text at the top of the download screen.
If you have a knox bootloader, you cannot downgrade to an earlier bootloader but you can still install a custom recovery and custom ROMs which voids the warranty but does not brick the phone.You can flash any ROM you want with a 4.3 Knox bootloader as long as the ROM does not try to flash a new bootloader.
If you have a stock 4.3 phone and try to load anything that is not official Samsung software, it will trigger the knox counter (change from 0 to 1 or 0x0 to 0x1) and void your warranty. At the moment, there is no way to reset the knox counter to 0.
Yes, if you get a 4.04 phone, you can install a custom recovery, custom ROM, and move freely among custom ROMs if these ROMs are support but the installed bootloader.
I have done all of this with an i747m (Bell version of the s3).
That's crystal clear, I was confused and thought that if you had knox and flashed anything else over it it would brick... but I see now, just avoid bootloaders.

Hi everyone, this is my first post on here, though I have read a lot of other threads on this site and just wanted to start by saying thank you to all the helpful people on here.
So, my issue is I have a Note 2 (N7100). I rooted it (using very useful guides from here) and installed the Slimkat custom ROM. I'm now selling the phone but the person interested in buying from me wants the original Samsung stock ROM (unrooted so that he can get the update currently rolling out).
I downloaded the correct official firmware (I'm in Thailand) from sammobile and I've tried using Odin just as instructed here and on many other sites. However it just won't work.
I select the md5 firmware file then and it does it's getting the PIT file and gets to the point where I just have to hit start. But when I do it says it failed and that I need an Odin supported file.
I suspect this is because of previous flashing. When I boot into download mode is says it has a binary count of 2 and that knox was tripped.
I read on here that I could use Triangleaway but that if I mess it up, it's goodbye phone. I know that you can't be held responsible etc etc but I would just like to know can I use Triangleaway on my phone (which is running SlimKat 4.4.2)? It says that you have to be using it with a compatible ROM.
If I use Triangleaway with my phone, following the instructions I've found on here... what are the chances that I'll end up totally permanently bricking my phone?
Provided that I don't do anything stupid and just follow step by step instructions, would it be ok? (yes, I know you can't be held responsible)
And would this solve the issue of Odin not being able to flash the file that seems to work for everyone else?

If you have better bootlader, than mj5, then tringleaway is not working. about knox. if knox varranty 1 the jor varranty is over
if bootlader mj5 then download original rom www.sammobile.com
Knox counter says warranty void 0x1 then forget about MJ5. You must have tripped with a bootloader above MJ5 therefore no downgrade.
You got to go for the newest firmware to get stock again, even (maybe) got to try indian 4.4.2 AND unrooted status will stay custom, so OTA won't work.
Seems that you pay the price for unconscious or careless flashing. Sad to state this...
I am using Omega 29 on my N7100, but now it has some Hardware-defects and i am worried they may decline my free repairs, because of that bootloader-status thing.
Is there any way to go back to original without any indications of prior custom firmware use?
They will update my Phone to the newest available firmware, which will include Knox. I already called them, there is no way around that. Samsung forces them to do that with every single repair. Is there any way to completely get rid of knox and that knox bootloader again after they updated it?

1. Flash latest stock via ODIN. Also wipe internal sdcard in case there is any folders that rooted apps may have created, just in case they use that as excuse not to fix.

Ok, First, for the p600 if you root, you will trip Knox which will void your warranty and there is no way around this and this is the only way to root your model (p600), If you don't care about warranty then continue...
1) Download this file https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11938873/CF-Auto-Root-lt03wifi-lt03wifixx-smp600.zip then unzip, you will see this file CF-Auto-Root-lt03wifi-lt03wifixx-smp600.tar.md5.
2) Turn Off Tablet, Hold Volume Down + Power. Follow the instructions on the screen to get to download mode (Odin mode).

Knox is just a shortcut to the install link, Does this mean it's not installed or is the shortcut just extras (I don't know how to post screenshots).

I don't understand what you are saying???
When I said tripped Knox void warranty is that your device detected that you installed unauthorized software which tripped the knox counter. You can see this by boot into download mode (Odin mode) and you should see a line like this:
Warranty bit: 1 (factory is 0x0)

ok, now i'm getting confused.
my p600 is still on 4.3 jellybean. but from what i read, as long as did not update to kitkat firmware, i can still unroot and reverse the warranty bit bcoz they don't have knox yet. but it'll be too late if i updated to kikat right? btw, i used cf-auto-root.
just weeks ago i rooted my p600 and flashed stock recovery, so now my p600 thinks its stock official firmware, even say so in about device.
i haven't tried unrooting it yet to confirm that i can get warrenty back by flashing back whole stock firmware bcoz i don't want to redo all settings again. but thats the impression i'm geting.
anyhow if i can't really reverse that warranty thing i don't really care anyways. i warranty my stuff better than they do it, and since i think i can still get updates, it bothers me even less if its unreversible. but in the case if i'm right, and i can reverse that warranty bit. maybe one day i'd like to update to kitkat. then what? i'll have to have knox in my system and i can't reverse warranty counter anymore?
is there a way i can update to a custom kikat firmware (one day) and not have knox so i'll still be able to get warranty back?

Yes you're confused!!. Knox has nothing to do with warranty bit, once this tripped, you can't undo doesn't matter you on 4.3 or 4.4.
I'm a little confused on a few other issues. I have read over 40 pages on another thread here about rooting etc and I couldn't find the answer to a few questions. I've just successfully rooted using the most recent instructions (P600 - CF Auto root) but in earlier instructions (about a year ago) you had to also install the stock recovery file using Odin. Is that a necessary step? Is it needed for OTA updates? Since I've read that OTA updates will unroot and possibly prevent you from rooting at all, is it best to just forget about OTAs and flash up to date files from this site? Is it also prudent to turn off auto updating in the settings.
If I'm not installing custom roms and backed up using Titanium Pro do I really need to install TWRP? Any other benefits other than nandroid? Thanks

Once you rooted you can't use OTA update any more. So the easiest going forward is to flash TWRP and use it to flash pre-rooted rom from this site.

I guess I'm installing TWRP tonight. There are many versions up to 2.8 I think. Which one do you recommend for P600? I've tried searching for "installing TWRP" but there were no obvious hits like there were for rooting. Which is the key thread?
To my first question, I'm assuming that the later root methods automatically installs or leaves the stock recovery as earlier methods needed to load it. Am I right?

OK found the thread and I just read the last 55 pages (that took a while) and boy is it scary. So many problems. Touch not accurate, inverted screens, certain versions failing eg 2.7, can't access external SD card, continual looping, booting into the old recovery , OTG cables not working, time zones can't be set properly, some say turn off autoboot in odin and some say don't change default settings etc etc. the list goes on and on. I likened it to a bushfire or tornado. Some houses still stand and some don't and you want to know the silly thing here, I am an experienced computer teacher with a degree in computer science and I've upgraded firmware on over a hundred devices over the years and yet all this rooting and recovery stuff is another world. The rooting process, admittedly, was a piece of cake and the instructions for flashing TWRP seems easy too but after that there seems to be so many problems. So hit and miss.
All i want to do is load TWRP on a P600. I will only load custom ROMs when a new firmware version comes out. Can someone alleviate my fears who has successfully loaded TWRP recently on a P600 using ODIN without massive tweaking to get it going. What version TWRP did you use and did you turn off autoboot or not?

Took the plunge and loaded the latest TWRP 2.8.1 and it worked perfectly except I could only back to the main SD storage and not my extSD. I ended up, as a work around, moving the backup files to the extSD drive and PC.
I think I was worried unnecessarily.
