Updating Kies to latest version may solve your problem.
The lag is due to the problems with the latest update, to solve that you have to revert back to 4.1.2 and then to previous 4.2.2 builds..

[Q] Galaxy grand Flashing advice

Hi everyone, I have a Galaxy Grand that I flashed using the Russian version of the firmware, and now that the official Indian version has been released, I want to use that version. Importantly , I want to fix the contact bug, where if you search for a contact and when you tap on it, the next contact is selected.
So what is the procedure I need to follow to install the latest official Indian Firmware and links if any.
There has been too many firmware release which is causing confusion for me.
Other queries, mostly secondary:
1. Is there a linux version of Odin, or any other flashing device that can be used in Linux
2. Is there a working kernel that supports USB-OTG or USB-Host.
Thanks in advance
AFAIK, Odin does not work in Linux (Yeah I know its strange considering Android is based on Linux !). You could attempt it in VM probably. Heimdall runs in Linux but I dont know if it is compatible with Grand Duos.
There is no kernel which enables USB-OTG / USB Host mode in Grand. Might require hardware modifications.
I dont think I need to tell you about flashing. Pick any firmware of your choice and flash through Odin !
search sammobile site
As said ODIN works only in windows.
try with a VM if needed...
For the latest firmware for your country, search the sammobile.com site, they ll provide the latest firmware details and file to download.....
Well, If there's no kernel that can enable OTG, I don't think there is any incentive in updating the software.
I last update on 13th June 2013. Is it worth updating now? I mean has the firmware improved?

Sound problem in tab s 10.5 lte (sm-t805)

I have purchased a samsung tab s 10.5 lte when it was released in july 2014. After about 2 months I have noticed an issue with the device. When I play any media file from the build in stock apps or 3rd party apps like mx player or poweramp , Static sound of the content I am playing ( sound not clear- disturbance in sound quality) keeps coming from the speaker or from any earphone I connect to the device The only way to resolve the issue was to reboot the device. But after a couple of hours of usage this issue comes up again. After getting fed up with this I had given it for service in an authorized Samsung service centre. They formatted the device and in the symptoms the wrote "SW bug" and as resolution they wrote "SW updated". Now after 2 months after the service the same problem has started again. My device is not rooted and is running on android 4.4.2 . I have purchased the device in United Arab Emirates. Please suggest any other solution to this problem.
Model no: SM-T805
Build no: KOT49H.T805XXU1ANFB
Baseband version : T805XXU1ANF6
Android 4.4.2
Why not just update to lollipop and see how that goes. The firmwares in the lollipop thread should work for you.
Here in UAE, lollipop is not out yet through OTA update. Can u suggest how to manually install lollipop for my device without rooting it?

Even after updating to lollipop this problem still keeps coming up now. I had given it to the service center 3 times now , they just keep factory reseting and give it back. This problem is so irritating.
Same problem with me (Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE T805)
Have you found any solution ?
