Is there any way to fix the Auto-rotate delay - G Pad 8.3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I don't think that this is an issue of only mine tablet, because I watched dozens of YouTube reviews and hands-ons and it seems that this is a common feature. Is there any way to boost the time required for the tablet to rotate the screen? It's not quite a big problem but I find it really irritating... Maybe some build.prop tweak or a xpsosed mod?
Thanks.

Is there any specific time that it takes a long time to rotate? Or just the general time it takes to recognize the rotation. Personally I think the LG has one of the best rotation detections. My samsung devices are terrible. My LG takes less than a second to recognize and respond on the homescreen, some high CPU apps cause some extra delay, but typically it's very quick.

I've found giving it a little shake helps.

I guess the software has to decide whether the tablet has actually rotated or if it's just a temporary horizontal acceleration.
It would be super annoying if screen rotation was too aggressive, causing unwanted rotations when moving around (with) the tablet.

mine does it too. it rotates fine. it just takes forever to rotate the icons in the new position.

I'm with you on this one, I prefer it to be less sensitive, however I think the animation could be quicker. I always have the problem over-rotations on my phone with slow animation speeds, especially when I want to change it back to the mode I was in.

Well this is just a matter of taste whether someone likes of or not. I don't, I find the waiting time frustrating, especially when by accident I change orientation and then I have to lean it back for like 1,5/2 seconds to come back... I'm sure there's a code that defines the delay, the questions is whether this code can be modded?
Ps. it is clearly seen when looking at some YouTube reviewers gestures, as they have a contact with plenty of Android devices it can be seen that the waiting time is a bit longer than in the other devices when

Old thread yes!
Does anybody else have any problem with the rotation delay?
I have a 5 second delay from the device is rotated 100 %, and the screen rotates.
And i'm not joking, i took the time with a stopwatch (Several times)
It all startet with KitKat. Anybode else got this problem, or maybe a solution?

Lag switching to landscape orientation

I am getting significant lag when switching from portrait to landscape orientation, which was not present on my Galaxy S2. Anyone getting this as well?
Yes, me too. It's even slower than my Desire. Only got it yesterday afternoon so haven't played with it a massive amount, but I have a gut feeling it's an ICS issue.

I am getting this as well but I don't think its an ICS issue.. it seems more like an ICS feature.. who knows.. its not that bothersome though.
I remember with my orginal desire I wished the rotation was less responsive.
Are you referring to the animation lagging or that there is a delay before it starts the transition?
If it's the latter, i do believe it's considered a "feature" to prevent accidental changes in orientation.
Theres going to be a whole host of errors and issues... brand new os barely out of beta.
Should be fun!
I started a thread about this yesterday its my main issue with the device.
i actually prefer it taking a while to spin, my Desire used to annoy me so much the way it was so sensitive i ended up disabling auto rotate most of the time :/

It's the latter. Transition animations can be turned off and it doesn't change a thing. Probably a good thing to prevent accidental orientation changes, but I would give users an option to set it the way they want.

Yeah - I wouldn't class this as "lag", it's just a delay to stop accidental rotation.
This used to annoy the hell out of me too on the Desire Don't have this problem anymore.

Yes, it's the latter. My Desire didn't bother me, so it's a personal preference thing. With this in mind, surely there should be an option to change the delay time? Maybe something for 4.1!
I suppose everyone has their individual preferences; for me it's a bit annoying with the delay especially when looking at photos in the gallery, where I want the transition to be pretty quick.

remnant icons

Hello all,
I hace veeb seaching the web for this but didnt find anything, so am sorry if the answer is out there.
Here is my problem : when i open app with white background (gmail gtalk), i can see remnant desktop icon like the bottom ones or the ones i added on the desktop.
Any one got this issue yet ?
I guess i will have to change the screen, but any tips welcome to solve that.
Thanks
guyiom
sounds like burn-in.
make a video with pure white background, as bright as possible and make it for about 30 minutes long. play it on the device full screen with the highest brightness setting.
see if that clears it up.
hello svtfmook,
thank you for answering me.
it sounds like a good try.
do you know of any software i could use to generate this video ?
ciao
guyiom
any video rendering program like vegas pro would work
If it is there all the time, then it is a screen burn-in and possibly result of too long screen-on times. This happens with majority of screens out there to some degree and there's not a lot you can do about it. It will happen to every device sooner or later, though usually should not become evident before a year or two, depending on use.
But if it is temporary and 'fades' after ten or so seconds, then that's perfectly normal.
Hello,
In fact it is there all the time.
Do you think warranty will work ?
Thank you

Screen rotatiton lag

Ok, guys.
Everybody knows about screen rotation lag on Android. Somebody has 1 sec, somebody 5 sec lag.
At code.google.com people say it is intentional. And I do believe so. Just try landscape in browser and press home without rotating device, my screen rotates super fast and without any lag.
So does anyone know any possible way to change the delay between the phone being put in landscape and the screen start rotating?
BTW I'm on AndroidME 1.5 CM10 ROM and I did my own research with google with no luck.
Rotation lag has completely disappeared for me since I run JB.

Which ROM Do you run? I'm on JB as well and I do have 1 sec lag.

I have about a second of lag too, but it's hard for me to consider this lag. The orientation is dependant upon the accelerometer. The hardware recognizing an adjusted angle and switching the orientation all within a second seems within the confines of reason in my opinion.

The lag you speak of I believe is to make sure the user actually intended to rotate their phone. Its never really bothered me to be honest. Back when I used my Nexus S, CNA had an option to increase the response of this rotation. Not sure if that's included in their JB release though.
But that lag bother me a lot, try rotating phone while in camera you'll how amazingly fast the rotation can be.
Well yeah. It's the camera. Like I said, that tiny bit of lag is to make sure the user intentionally rotated the phone. I'm sure you can edit this via the build prop or something else.
That's why I want to know how I can do this, but I can't find the answer anywhere.
The camera app itself doesn't rotate.
Try holding the phone in landscape then click next where the onscreen keys are, you'll see that they're sill in the portrait orientation.

[Q] Notification bar fail

Every time when I try to swype / roll down the notification bar / panel. It stops after 1cm and jumps back to the top. Than I try for the 2nd time and it rolls correctly. Very annoying to repeat the move every time... Anyone experienced the same? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Try to grab at the left side of bar or right side and on center. Maybe is touch issue

Which firmware are you on?
I cannot remember which, but one of the older FW had this bug.
It is gone with the latest .757 for me, so may be update, or do clean intall.
Have some hope, because I know what you are talking about. I had it for a while. But after rooting/upgrading the FW it is COMPLETELY GONE. So lets believe it is FW and not hardware for you too!

btw. just bought the phone and after unboxing it offered an update. so the phone is 1 week old and maybe with the latest FW.
only 2 bugs so far: that crack in every notification sound and this notifiaction bar bug...
I use an LG G2 and I didn't have ANY problems with that... so annoying that is Sony's nr.1 phone has bugs... VERY disappointing...
Mine did this as well with JB out of the box, and continued after both KK updates. It has become somewhat less frequent over time.

[H815][v29a Nougat] KnockOn the way it used to work on MM/L?

Hey guys, I really enjoy new Nougat on H815, it's all fast and fluid, battery life better, audio quality seems to have improved but there's one thing that kills me, KnockOn. Why? In MM it used to disable itself when in pocket or proximity sensors were covered, here it doesn't seem to work like that. I put my phone in pocked and it opened few apps, added new event to my agenda, almost called my last contact... Is it due I didn't flash bootloader? Can anyone confirm it doesn't work way it worked before or its caused by MM bootloader?

For me, quickcircle was the cause for this problem, as I stopped using it, I don't have this problem anymore.
