Hi
I tried to install twrp with flashify and then philz but I only see a open android with a red exclamation mark. How can I get into recovery? Thanks.
You will have to follow the return to stock guide unless you can get one of those recoveries working.

Thanks, but just in the meantime I had success- Followed this:

Hi guys I am a semi n00b so wondered if anyone can help.
I have unlocked the bootloader. and tried to flash cwm, but this didn't work for some reason, so i redid the root. and then installed CWM through rom manager. This allowed be to install the search icon patch.
But now when i try to boot into recovery i just get an android with chest flap open and exclamation mark.
Bound to be something simple, but any ideas?

DOH!! can a mod move please.
Update I have reflashed clockwork using fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.2-maguro.img
this allows me to boot into CWM recovery once. I installed the autobrightness patch now does the same little android.

I recently went through the steps of the S-Off for my HTC One on Verizon (thanks beaups and jduck)! Everything went perfectly during the process. While it says my phone is unlocked, when trying to go into my recovery to flash a rom, it goes to the white HTC screen and then to a blank screen and then just boots up into the Verizon screen. I installed TWRP and tried to go through recovery this way, and it still is not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Try re flashing a recovery through flashboot follow instructions from here

I have the same problem, and can only get to TWRP if I use "adb reboot recovery."

What process did you take to get TWRP installed?
It sounds like your recovery didn't install correctly.

After getting S-Off for my one, i also tried to use TWRP. I followed all the steps, but it wouldn't work, kept getting stuck at Entering Recovery or whatever.. Ended up trying clockwork, and it worked. Not sure what the problem was, but you should try cwm if you're not absolutely set on twrp
Are you guys getting twrp from the thread in the original development section or somewhere else. curious if you got the wrong version or a bad copy.

Upgraded to 4.4.2. Re rooted. I was able to do a twrp recovery to my laptop.
When I went to do a routine back up via twrp I get a supine android with an exclamation point in a triangle coming out of his chest.
booting into recovery takes me to the recovery/bootloader menu. Choosing either takes me back to the recovery screen.
I replied with the nexus tool kit,; maybe it isn't compatible with 4.4.2?
Advice?
Just trying to be 100% clear here...can you get into both bootloader AND recovery without any problems? Can you reboot directly into recovery (power + vol up)? And do your partitions load up correctly in TWRP? Have you tried flashing a new Rom from any version?

you could use fastboot to flash the recovery again. the red triangle android thing is probably stock recovery. when you are on it try pressing power then vol up. if a menu pops up then it's stock recovery. you may have just erased your twrp.

Yes, it sounds like the first reboot after you installed 4.4.2 automatically flashed stock recovery. Just reflash TWRP in your bootloader.

yup. in CWM there is a prompt that the OTA will try to restore stock recovery and it asks if you want to prevent this. i'm guess TWRP doesnt have this or OP didnt do it.

you should try twrp recovery instead its simply better with more features than cwm
just get the img file from teamwin site and make sure you get the right one then flash it via fastboot
Did it work?

have you tried hitting volume up? I believe if you have no flashable files in stoage older versions of cwm will show a blank screen.

Unable to Unlock
Hey, would you guys know how to unlock the recovery. I've tried stuff from the HTC website, but the recovery remains locked. Any advice?
Thanks.
Ok, So I just bought the Tmo Note 3 and was looking to root it
I went on youtube and found the Auto-root method
I downloaded the auto-root files, open Odin, put the CF-Auto root.tar.md5 in the PDA section of Odin and clicked start.
when it was done my phone rebooted into a screen with 3 lines on top saying
RECOVERY BOOTING....
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
Can anyone please help me?
Phone was on 4.3
I can also still go to Download mode but cannot boot into android or into a recovery it just boots to those 3 lines above.
Help?
The same thing happen to me when I tried installing clockwork mod recovery and twrp recovery. I had to go to the website sammobile.com and download the original firmware MD5 file (2,218,421kb) put the phone in download mode and re flash the whole thing and start over. I still can't get a custom recovery to work. Can anyone shed light on this? Thanks
Reflash the recovery.
Mine shows the same, pauses and then boots into the recovery (TWRP in my case).

Download philz recovery and flash with ODIN. The warning about recovery is normal once you have a custom recovery installed.
This thread should help you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2672393

Thanks for putting on the right path.
Thanks to everyone who helped me out
I would highly suggest twrp 2.7. Less compatibility issues. Its more than just a personal preference thing.

Today a miracle occurred.
I have a n900-p Sprint that was rooted months ago and today I stupidly was messing with ROM manager and hit "reboot into recovery"
My phone went in to a boot loop with this "recovery is not seandroid enforcing" message right before bed time and I was in boot loop hell.
Some quick googling brought me here and gratefully I used some of your info to save myself on first try.
Step-by-step for any Googlers passing through:
1. Download Odin and your stock android rom (by pure dumb luck I remembered the last three letters from when I was screwing around on the settings screen earlier in the day.
2. Run As Administrator Odin and put your phone in download mode (pull battery, wait ten seconds, hold down VOL down + Power + front key)
3. Plug in your busted phone
4. Hit AP button in Odin and find your stock android rom you d/l earlier
5. after you get a blue box under ID:COM in Odin, hit start
6. pray
7. boom, when its done everything is back to normal.
If a monkey as dumb as me can pull it off, so can you. Good luck internet strangers.
