I have searched the forum, and I can't find out if any of the rooting methods don't trip the Knox warranty bit. Or if they all do, does the ota survival from supersu pro work when upgrading from 4.1.2?
Sorry if this is in the wrong area, can a mod move this to the q&a forum?

I'm not sure I understand correctly. Are you on 4.1.2 and want to update and then root? If so, I advise against that. Root now and then flash a 4.3 rooted rom. Unless I totally misunderstood your post.
Currently rooted 4.1.2 stock with stock recovery. I guess I am looking for a rooted touchwiz based/stock 4.3 rom without the Knox junk

All MK3 roms can be flashed as is. You don't need to take the OTA or do anything more than flashing the MK3/MK5 modems to get data working.
Thank you Jairsantana for the link, and CNexus for the rom. Now I have 4.3 mk3 without all the Knox garbage.

The only way you would trip Knox is if your S3 came with stock mk3... like mine, I tripped it cuz I bought my device outright

i still had flash on 4.3 update. i tripped my old note 2, but now have a new handset and sticking with 4.1.2
it's worth is up to you. i like how it looked and performed but won't go back until their is a work around knox.
I installed it on every 4.3 Rom I've used. It has the option to enable plugins.
This is SWARM Rom.

The knox workaround is to use the old bootloader and either flash wifi patch or devil kernel. I'm running Devil kernel and could only be happier with Tweaked 4.3

Hi!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 i747m android 4.3 with stock rom rooted and I want to install "S3Rx 3.0 TouchWiz 4.3 MJB (4-13-14) Full AROMA" but the thread says that I need to install a bootloader and modem but here is my question, Do I have to install the "Official MK5 bootloaders and modem" that are mentionated in there when In alredy have kitkat? Or I already have them in my phone and I have to ONLY flash the rom like in the past?
After a hard brick of my phone and iI have fixed it, I want to do things in the best way possible, thanks a lot for your help!

I also have an i747m from bell and could not get the ROM to run, even after altering to updater script. In the end, I went with a custom kk ROM.
I think it would not load because I did not have the mjb bootloader. Loading the mjb bootloader could brick your phone.

Thanks a lot! Yes I think is better to use a custom kk rom.
So you couldnĀ“t flash the rom in the way you said?

I just want to update but wouldn't that change the boot loader to the newest one also?
I stayed on MK6 because I was told I'd be stuck on it when i downgraded to 4.1.2 by Zen Arcade.
I have already trip the knox count so that doesnt matter to me anymore.
Help, Would still like to know what to do to Update.

Ok if you tripped Knox then you can flash what you want.
For the link you asked about above, you can flash the one I highlighted in the pic below OK.

Same one I flashed on my Tmo with the 4.1.2 bootloader. But I did remove the modem since it's for att. No need for you to do if you have a att phone. It'll just upgrade you modem to the Ne5
Again, this is a Virgin Mobile edition. Kinda confused about the whole Knox thing specifically.

If you plan on using KitKat, yes, that will make things a whole lot easier. Knox doesn't effect anything unless you are planning on sending it back to Samsung for a warranty claim... Sprint and it's subsidiaries don't care. There is a thread called Knox and You in the General section if you would like to read up on it.

Thanks. I do plan to use CM11, so I'm gonna go ahead and get the OTA updates before flashing it.

Has anyone else had an issue with the modem not updating? I just did a full Odin flash of the newest lollipop build ( uvfol1 ) and the modem still shows as nf9 which is a kit Kat modem. I wiped everything in twrp, then odin'd the tar..... just curious here. Hoping my partitions aren't messed up or something lol

You're gonna need to find just the baseband and flash it with Odin. You need something like FOB6. Sometimes it will be listed as modem. As soon as I get home I'll search around some and see if I can find it for you to download.
I'll try flashing the fob6 baseband I have. I figured flashing the entire new tmobile uvfol1 should have updated the whole works. Thanks for your input though wondering if everyone on uvfol1 is still running fob6 as their baseband then. Maybe since it wasn't a big upgrade they didn't change it from then.

Quick update. I pulled the battery and then odin'd the latest uvfol1. All is good now. Odd that a regular reboot into download mode didn't work right. Had to kill the power completely
