I asked him how can I update this device to 4.2.2 because this update arrived in
Middleast only I think

Last news was that g pro will get 4.4 in Q2, how than g can get in few days 4.4 and g2 in end of Q1? Because of that we will see

What are you guys talking about??
They are just joking.
Just to make it clear: There IS NOT update for Optimus G for a while, if ever.
Every post about "kitkat is relased soon for our device is bulls***.
Answers from LG is just way to keep people away for a while asking annoying questions about updates.
80% of people can't answer for question "Why do you want kitkat on your phone" anything else that "Oh its new, i want it"
I can answer, so what? I will get update?

Well actually as of late LG was pretty good with updates. I took my lg 4x HD from Europe over to the USA and this phone was updated to jelly bean even thought it wasn't over the air rather then with the lg software it still was updated. So I would say that mist likely international non carrier branded versions, could possible see an update. Carrier branded version's on the other hand specially in the USA ? I wouldn't guarantee on that. That's why we can be thankful if developers provide us with the newest software when carrier and also manufacture NOT.

Personally I think it is ridiculous for any manufacture to abandon a flagship before atleast 1 year of regular updates. As the xda community, we should make enough noise with LG so that they take note and deliver updates for some time to come ..not sure how but...maybe Facebook / twitter will be the place to start

I send by email to LG:
"Recently I got the Optimus G PRO E989 in Brazil. The Android is still 4.1.2. There is expected to launch an update to Android 4.3
The LG OPTIMUS PRO never received an update. I would like a report from LG LG. OPTIMUS GN2 comes with Android 4.2.2
I called the support in Brazil and nobody knows if it will be updated and when.
Is there any date or timeline?
Thank you
Here is the response I got from LG on the subject of an OS update..
" ------Reply to Your Inquiry-------
Dear Mr. Simon,
Thank you for contacting LG Electronics!
By the moment there is no information about any upgrades on the OS for your phone. An extensive evaluation needs to be done by LG, Google and the carrier for your phone.
In case LG Electronics together with the carrier for this model decide to release any updates you will received a notification in your phone.
Once again thank you for contacting LG! In case you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again either via email, or by calling our customer service division at your convenience. At the bottom, you will find a survey where you will be able to score your experience with me. Have a wonderful day!

So you ask a question in the other thread about kitkat, which is the thread about official kk and didnt get a reply quick enough sooo you open this thread......If some one knew it would have been in the original thread.I cant stand trying to follow one subject from 2 different threads that can easily be discussed in one thread.

ATT will most likely be the last to get an update out of all the Optimus G Pro derivatives. Reason being is that the US is generally very far behind Asia in updates and ATT has to load all of their bloated garbage into the ROM before they will release it.

Going by the release history of the phone, after Korea the first country to get the phone was US, followed by other countries in Asia, Europe etc... I guess US version should therefore be the next in line after Korea.. There was a new bit about 2 weeks back that we will get knock on and quick window as part of Kit Kat, so maybe AT&T is taking time to get that included (pardon me if it sounds delusional )

No, the most powerful recognized developers in their monthly meeting in a secret location decided that the G3 will be ignored and all mentioning will lead to a permaban.
There will be no development for the G3!
Like the phone never existed.
It name equals to an iPhone in these parts.
....You can't predict those things
However the G3 is not a worth bump for most of the ppl in here.
Would say you should have stayed with the G2 in the first place.
But my best guess G3 will have a better future in here as the current Flex. Hopefully not as good G2 because I do not plan to go to the G3

Easy answer, Android "L" has not been released to the masses at all..
I think your refering to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat which should be released any day now.
Likely and wishfully they will give us 4.4.4 instead.. But "L" Has not been even announced yet

Why wishfully do they you want 4.4.4 so bad over 4.4.2? It's a few minor security updates, nothing functionally different from 4.4.2
And "L" has been announced. I was being sarcastic being usually with an announcement like this, people start up already asking when will my device get it.
Pretty sure Towelroot wont work as of 4.4.4. Maybe even 4.4.3. Not sure on that one though.

I read somewhere, I think it was in the S5 Forums, if I find it.. I'll post it..
but it read somewhere that the Towelroot was NOT affected by the update..
Can't quote, but I think I saw it on a XDA Youtube Video..
EDIT: and at the time you mentioned when will "L" be announced..
At that current time, Google said they would make their "official" announcement the following day..
EDIT2: Here is all the info needed on Towelroot: http://lifehacker.com/towelroot-roots-android-kitkat-devices-in-one-tap-no-p-1592226618
I have a feeling that our beloved S3 won't be able to handle the L. I know it's only a dev preview but even the Nexus 5 lagged quite a bit.

I'm late but that's not the case. Nexus 5 at least had an update to a kernel past June 6th to 4.4.4 and the exploit is still unpatched. Some devices may have it merged or not but rest assured this will be patched by July's end. This will certainly not work on L when you guys get pushed AOSP to state the obvious. Here's to hoping you guys don't get an official update that breaks root.
Seeing a stupid comment on Google Play about an app you love and marking it as "spam". You've done it too.
I doubt we will get an update like that, though I won't discount the possibility. If what ive heard is correct (and I have no reason to believe its not), Samsung sent T-Mobile the final build for our updates weeks ago. Just for whatever reason they seem to just be sitting on it. Its not like T-Mobile to do something like that, but considering we were usually the first or second to get updates on the S3, and just about every other variant has been updated, I dont see any other viable explanation.
In the AT&T forums, a couple of the Canadian carriers (Rogers and Fido I think) got another kk update from NE6 to NF2 a couple days ago. Those who updated are reporting Towelroot and Framaroot no longer work.
Not that it matters too much for us here though. Our bootloaders are not locked so we can still root by several other methods if need be. I feel bad for Verizon and AT&T S5 owners though....they may have to start yet another massive bounty thread!

Haha geohot is known for making every tech company look like morons. I'd give it a week before he does it again.

*sigh*
The S3 probably won't be able to handle Android L anyways considering the Nexus 5 becomes laggy with it.
I couldn't delete the post so I changed it to something thread relevant.

I'll delete my post tomorrow. I'd rather not argue on here. I just can't delete from my phone.
OK all you developers rock!! Again I say you all Rock!! playing with all these ROMs has been awesome.
I read on Google+ that our LG G3 will be getting Android Lollipop this week (at least Poland for sure) so I'm psyched!! So I'm looking forward to see the what flavor lollis you all create now that we may be done with chocolate
Quick question if I do one of the stock ROMs (I think I saw a 10c and 10m here) and kept it rooted am I to take the OTA to android L?

First of all, this shouldn't be in this section ?? not trynna be rude... And i wouldn't recommend doing the OTA if you're rooted and have a custom recovery.. I mean if ya wanna mess up your phone that's a pretty good way to start ????
No
