Follow these steps :
1. Enter Engineering Mode by dialing *#*#3646633#*#*
2. Once you are in the Engineer mode, you should go to “Location” and then to “Location Based Services”
3. Now, tap on EPO and check that “Enable EPO” is enabled and then press on “EPO IDLE”
4. “EPO IDLE” will change to “EPO DOWNLOADING” (Wifi connection required)
5. Once EPO DOWNLOADING changes back again to “EPO IDLE” press back and enter into YGPS
6. In the YGPS you will need to press on “Hot”, “Full” and “AGPS Restart”
Now you should find that it is faster and more precise!!
Press thanks if Helped !!:good:

I realise my GPS takes longer to obtain a fix whenever i reboot my device. Is this normal to you all out there? =(
If yes, how do you all fix this problem?

yes it happen to me too ..
the solution that works for me is, firstly install fasterfix (download from market) .. and set to custom server : for malaysia --> my.pool.ntp.org
after that, open gps status (download from market), then menu -> tools -> manage a-gps -> reset ... after reset , open back menu -> tools -> manage a-gps -> download ..
then let gps search for satellite , once lock , then you'll get fast gps lock after that ..
Hi hedayat7
Oh ok. I did not think about that. haha. Ok. Thanks for the suggestion!
Bada 2.0 S8500 GPS location Problem after Upgrade 2.0
Dear Friends,
i am facing problem in Location Service/GPS system my Bada S8500 after upgrade Bada 2.0. It's not working.
Please any one solve my problem...
If you just upgraded from bada 1.x to bada 2.0 and and now have problem with Navigation (Route 66), do this simple setting:
1. Setting => Location =>Location service (set it to on; i.e. green colour).
2. Back to main menu, launch "Navigation" (allow it to run for few seconds)
3. Then click on "More" (on Navigation menu) => Contents (download contents for Navigation, to sync your license; download maps; and download any other contents you have purchased e.g safety camera, etc).
4. That's all.
NB: In case your problem is not with Navigation (Route 66), please do well to explain in details what problem you are facing.

Normally when you install any location/GPS app manually, you need to also activate/include this app in the location service manually. Otherwise you will always receive the said error of 'Location service is disabled'
For Example, I installed the GPS Status app.
When I tried to start the GPS, it displayed error of 'Location service is disabled'.
Yes, even if I have enabled location service in my phone, but I have not enabled it for GPS Status app.
To solved this, I go to Setting => Location => Location service (already set to ON, if not, turn it ON),
then on same page/menu, scroll down to bottom of page where you will find your installed location/GPS app (in this example, GPS Status), and turn it ON.
Now go back and launch your location/GPS app, and it will no longer display the error. It will now work.
See screenshots below:
Hey all,
I was on CM for a while rooted and GPS worked with no issues at all.
I want to get the phone back to clean stock.
Triangled away,
Used odin to flash stock rom (UDLK3), wiped / reset everything.
everything is working except GPS does not lock, no GPS icon or anything.
GPS Test apps show no satellite fixes.
Here is what i have tried already:
Used GPS Test app to clear GPRS data and Request New - NO GO
Went to Settings
Application manager
Went to Google services framework
cleared data
Went to settings
Application manager
Went to maps
cleared data
uninstalled Map updates
Went to location services
turned off all location services
Powered cycled the phone
updated maps from android market,
Activated GPS and location services,
tested -- NO GO
Any help on how to get this fixed?
I'm in desperate need to get this phone working clean.
thank you

Woa Thank you dude! you saved my @ss,
I used the very first 'common fix"
Enter the Samsung service mode by typing this code into the dial pad *#197328640#
Then go to Mainmenu>UMTS>Common>NV REBUILD>NV REBUILD> (Important: don't exit the menu yet!)
Wait 30+ sec
Long press power button and select "Restart / Reboot"
Now check your GPS from any software that may use GPS like "Maps" or "GPS Status"...
and it worked!
thank you again both of you!
No problem I've been there before I guess it happens from switching between aosp and then back to Tw also when you flash multi carrier ROMs

Perfect! thanks
the fix i used:
GPS not locking: Unfortunately This is going to happen to some when coming from AOSP based ROMs and other carrier ports.
A couple common fixes include...

1. Easiest and most reliable way. Try this first!
Enter the Samsung service mode by typing this code into the dial pad *#197328640#
Then go to Mainmenu>UMTS>Common>NV REBUILD>NV REBUILD> (Important: don't exit the menu yet!)

Hello all,
I just wanted to know what code should I enter in, to check the phones life history? I want to make sure my phone was never activated before I 1st used it.
Such as: ##INFO# type of thing, we used to do on our old devices.
Usually within this information, it will display, the date of first use. Which is very helpful.
Thanks a lot.

Here is the information you are looking for: *#*#4636#*#*
This code will display the complete history of the phone.
Have a great day and don't forget that it's faster to click the "THANKS" button than typing "thank you"

Here are a bunch of codes for you to check out...... (they do work)
1. Complete Information about your Phone
*#*#4636#*#*
This code can be used to get some interesting information about your phone and battery. It shows following4 menus on screen:
Phone information
Battery information
Battery history
Usage statistics
2. Factory data reset
*#*#7780#*#*
This code can be used for a factory data reset. It'll remove following things:
Google account settings stored in your phone
System and application data and settings
Downloaded applications
It'll NOT remove:Current system software and bundled application
SD card files e.g. photos, music files, etc.
Note: Once you give this code, you get a prompt screen asking you to click on "Reset phone" button. So you get a chance to cancel your operation.
3. Format Android Phone
*2767*3855#Thin *k before you give this code. This code is used for factory format. It'll remove all files and settings including the internal memory storage. It'll also reinstall thephone firmware.
Note: Once you give this code, there is no way to cancel the operation unless you remove the battery from the phone. So think twice before giving this code.
4. Phone Camera Update
*#*#34971539#*# **
This code is used to get information about phone camera. It shows following 4 menus:
Update camera firmware in image (Don't try this option)
Update camera firmware in SD card
Get camera firmware version
Get firmware update count
WARNING: Never use the first option otherwise your phone camera will stop working and you'll need to take your phone to service centre to reinstall camera firmware.
5. End Call/Power
*#*#7594#*#*
This one is my favourite one. This code can be used to change the "End Call /Power" button action in your phone. Be default, if you long press the button, it shows a screen asking you to select any option from Silent mode, AirPlane mode and Power off.
You can change this action using this code. You can enable direct power off on this button so you don't need to waste your time in selecting the option.
6. File Copy for Creating Backup
*#*#273283*255* *663282*#*#*
This code opens a File copy screen where you can backup your media files e.g. Images, Sound, Video and Voice memo.
7. Service Mode
*#*#197328640#* *#*
This code can be used to enter into Service mode. You can run various tests and change settings in the service mode.
8. WLAN, GPS and Bluetooth Test Codes:
*#*#232339#*#* OR *#*#526#*#* OR*#*#528#*#* - WLAN test (Use
"Menu" button to start various tests)
*#*#232338#*#* - Shows WiFi MAC address
*#*#1472365#*#* * - GPS test
*#*#1575#*#* - Another GPS test
*#*#232331#*#* - Bluetooth test
*#*#232337#*# - Shows Bluetooth device address
9. Codes to get Firmware version information:
*#*#4986*265046 *8#*#* - PDA, Phone, H/W, RFCallDate
*#*#1234#*#* - PDA and Phone
*#*#1111#*#* - FTA SW Version
*#*#2222#*#* - FTA HW Version
*#*#44336#*#* - PDA, Phone, CSC, Build Time, Changelist number
10. Codes to launch various Factory Tests:
*#*#0283#*#* - Packet Loopback
*#*#0*#*#* - LCD test
*#*#0673#*#* OR *#*#0289#*#* - Melody test
*#*#0842#*#* - Device test (Vibration test and BackLight test)
*#*#2663#*#* - Touch screen version
*#*#2664#*#* - Touch screen test
*#*#0588#*#* - Proximity sensor test
*#*#3264#*#* - RAM version
Good luck!

I can definitely confirm on my GN3 that *#*#4636#*#* does NOT work. In fact none of these codes work. Maybe because my phone is GSM.
