Good Afternoon
Ive recently been given the Samsung Tab 3 7 inch and im having major issues with the 32GB Micro SD Card.
I can add folders and files to the SD card through a SD Card Adapter plugged into the card reader of my desktop PC and I can view these files once put back into tablet.
Once in the tablet I cant move anything around in the ‘My Files’ App I cant delete anything or add anything either.
Its like its just readable. I cant save photos from the camera to the SD card and I cant create any folders on it using the tablet.
It works perfectly in my friends Samsung phone…. I put his 8GB sd card into my tablet and it worked for a while and I was able to create folders and move files in ‘My file’ app. I removed it and tried it again and it became ‘Read Only’ like my 32GB
Also if I plug my tablet into the desktop PC using the usb adapter I cant change detele or add files to the card!
Very confused.
Im new to android so if anyone needs anyother info to help me out I will try my best to answer.
Thanks guys.

Try this app as a Device Manager
Did you try to format SD card in the settings ?
SD Card
Yeah, i re formatted in on the phone, on my desktop PC.
The only way i can get files onto it is through an SD card adapter plugged directly into my PC.
I cant get it to work through the USC, i tried Kies and also Android File Manager and i have no luck.
Android File Manager - Doesnt recognise the device
Kies - Locks up when i try adding something to the SD Card.

I have the AT&T Galaxy S3 with a Sandisk 64GB micro SD card mounted. I can see the card
using file explorers on the phone. But I would like to transfer files onto it from my Mac. The
Android File Transfer app does not seem to see the external card. Could anyone recommend
an application that I can install on my Mac which would allow me to transfer files between
my computer and the external SD card in my phone? I am completely new to Android
coming from iOS. Thanks.

if you look at the Android File transfer program there should be two buttons on the top of the window. Phone and card

Thanks. Sorry for being a noob.
No worries I didn't see it at first myself.
I'm not sure if this is related to the 4.3 bug or not but I have the tmobile galaxy s4 and I can no longer modify anything on my external sd card. Everything still reads fine but it seems alot slower than before.
I tried using es file manager to delete/write , but it dosen't work. It will say deleted successfully but when i refresh, it reappears. When i try to create a new file it says "sorry, operation failed"
I also checked the permissions file and it says it has r/w access for external storage.
Is my card just dying or corrupted or what? How can I fix this?
I just want to be able to use it again.
I also tried formatting. When i do it on the phone it just freezes. When I do it on the pc, it says write protected.
I tried gparted as well but it hangs during detection.
This is the default micro sd card that came with the phone...

Remove your external microSD and plug it into a card reader and or the adapter which came
with the card then plug it into your computer.
Make an empty folder on desktop of computer and copy all files and folders from the microsd
card into the empty folder.
Format your external microsd using this windows utility and copy all the files/folders back onto
the card from your computer and replace it into your phone.
Here is the direct download link for this fat32 formatter which is a windows utility:
http://download.cnet.com/MiniAide-F...815.html?spi=e1b6eca6ba2a9bfc9c74ffba47b88ad1
By doing the above your external microSD card should work find again.
Good luck!

Have you tried formatting the card in Windows Explorer when connected to the PC via SD card adapter (not while still in the tablet)?
You will need to format the SD card to FAT32
Hey everyone,
I know we all have our opinions on MTP, some like and some others don't.
As a Windows and Mac user, I think it is horribly implemented on our HTC One M8s. Large MKV and Flac files do not copy correctly (completely) to my phone's external micro sd card that is formatted with exFAT, and it's terribly slow. The problem also occurs with normal micro sd cards.
Is there any way to use a mod/application or system setting that removes all aspects of HTC Sync and allows me to mount my external SD card as just normal USB storage? I have 64 GB on my micro SD Card but cannot use it because I cannot copy over large files correctly because of this issue, and it's extremely frustrating.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Unfortunately, that's not really a solution. Android File Transfer is just an app that provides a connection between the phone and the computer. Additionally, it cannot transfer files over 4GB in size, which is absolutely ridiculous. I want a way to directly mount my SD card on the computer, so it is seen directly as an SD card in Finder. I don't care about accessing the internal memory.
What is the point of having an external SD card slot if you can't really use it properly? I'd rather not have to boot into windows to make this work.

And unfortunately, that is the only way wired to OSX ... Google changed the way storage is accessed (around ICS I believe) ... so MTP is the only protocol available ... even in Windows, the drives connect via MTP and not like a USB drive .... Try doing multiple actions like copy/paste simultaneously on Windows and you wont be able to

Remove SD card from phone. Put SD card into USB SD card reader plugged into PC. Profit.

Look, that makes sense, but it's ridiculous I need to buy a peripheral to use the external SD card on my phone. USB devices have been able to easily and quickly interface with computers since the 90s, it's absurd that I have to do that in order to do what I want.
And how reliable is that tray? How long before it doesn't go in properly because I have taken it out and put it in so many times?
I'm in the same boat. I use OSX as my primary OS and I'm just having to use AirDroid to transfer over files for now.
In http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54035979 I may provide a partial solution; depending on your exact need. Look for the post I sent a few minutes ago. More to come in the next days; I will test other apps, and report.
Hi,
I have note4 and I'm using micro SD card connected to an OTG device.
The micro SD is 256GB and when entering the device it says that I need to format it, after I'm doing that, I can see the card on ES file explorer.
After that I'm coping few files and folders and I still see it (I'm taking out the card and put it on my computer to copy files and then connect it back to my note4), but when I'm transferring more and more files and folders , there is a point when my Note4 does not recognise my card anymore.
Any idea why ?
Are there any files that Android system cannot see and thats why the device cannot recognise my card anymore ?
Maybe my note4 cannot see beyond specific capacity ? like 4GB maybe ?
i really need your help
Thanks,
Nir
