[Q] Any KitKat ROM w/o speaker problem ? - LG Optimus G Pro

Is there any kikkat rom available for lg-g-pro without "speaker issue" ?
Let me explain: when i make a call and bring the phone to my ear the speaker mutes. Also there are some posts with the same issue in Viber.
I've tried several CM-bases roms (10.2, 11) and all of them have the speaker problem in Skype.
Any suggestions ? Stock looks awful after glossy KK =(

that's odd because skype runs with no problems, but i'm getting speaker/mic problems with regular calls when headphones plugged in, and with CSipSimple app.
Thanks for help anyway.

I'm still fighting the in call low-volume mic problem as well. Apparently is not uncommon among other cm11 builds. I have yet to find a rom where its working properly. I tried downloading a few sound recorder apps and they record mic volume just fine - so it appears to be constrained to in call usage.
I also tried modifying an xml doc at the system level, as some had success on the nexus 4 with the same issue, but no luck for me.

HELP PLEASE! I can't hear caller voice

All of the sudden I can't hear caller voice, but when I put on speaker then everything is ok. I then switch back to regular mode and can't hear. As if I am on mute. Anyone have the same problem? or help me pin the problem. The phone rings fine.
Please help the old guy out geniuses.
Thanks in advance
hi,
i think that your problem is not software but hardware...it happend to me...just the little speaker broked....you have to change that or you can use with bluetooth headset....
Keep in mind that this is my experiene , i don't know if it be the same for you..but i think so
How many speaker are there on the phone? I thought only one right? the music, handfree speaker is fine. If there are more than one speaker, please direct me a site where I can order it. Thanks
For some reason, I think this is more software problem then hardware. The phone is in my case and never drop and taking really good care of it.
Hi!
I have same issues here.
I think there is a rom problem or somenthing like that...
Here I have to reset.. make alot of calls to test .. raise de volume up.. change speaker and works... its really annoying.
BTW.. I was using Cloudy 1.3 and was flawlessly. Changed to Gen.Y D2 R2 , issue is back .. =(
I think it's a software problem.Have you installed any software like codec or some other audio/sound application? If so try to uninstall it and resart your device. If not try a hard reset.

i believe there are 2 speakers in diamond, one is for ringer and speaker phone the other is for calling.
try switching back to Cloudy 1.3 and see if problem still exist?
if there are then your speaker is broken otherwise it's the rom problem.
Guys, just FYI the same issue appears when you install SRS WOW HD sound driver v1.5.1. Version 1.2.1 was working smoothly on diamond, but once i installed this new one, all sounds are mute for some reason and once i uninstalled it again, it was back to normal. Don't know if this will help, anyways with this issue you don't hear anything (ringer, alarm, caller)...
Actually I had the same problem, it was the internal speaker giving problems... u might hve to give it in for repairs if u can....
Hearing aid batterys? lol
I also have this problem... I believe that some of the ROMs that I've installed before set the speaker volume too high which resulted in the speaker blowing. I suggest you either send the phone in for repairs or search for software on XDA which turns the speakerphone on automatically when you make calls, that's how I get around this. You just put it by your ear like normal and you can still hear the phonecall =) Seems like HTC uses really crappy speakers in their phones...

People with Headset volume issues after flashing

Can I get a show of hands for the amount of people who have this issue. I've tried numerous 4.3 & 4.4 roms and the e950tmobile fix and I still have the same issue. I can hear them, but they can't hear me. I'm trying to figure out if its limited to me or a small group of users. I'm so tempted to go back to stock and wait for the official 4.4 update.
I have what may be the same issue using T-mobile. If I use a 4.4 ROM with the handset mic, my voice fades in and out and is quite garbled. People describe it as sounding like I'm underwater. The behavior is somewhat different based on the ROM as follows:
4.3 ROM - no handset voice at all
most 4.4 ROMs - no handset voice without the Tmobile Kitkat fix. With the fix, voice using handset mic is as described above
ROMs based on stock - handset mic works fine.
Based on a little experimentation, I think the issue is the noice canceling mic on the top of the phone not being set up correctly by the ROM. If I block the small hole on the top of the phone, voice from the handset clears up somewhat, but is still very faint.
I think disabling the noice canceling mic may fix the the problem, but I haven't found a way to do it yet.
You can count me among those with volume issues on the AT&T E980. The only ROM I could count on was SlimBean, and thanks to recovery issues I can't even get back to that anymore. So I'm back to stock and hoping that we actually see an update to KitKat.

I'm currently running the V5 version of this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462453
But apparently, I had the same issue last night on this ROM. I received a couple of calls where people kept saying they couldn't hear me. I tested it this morning against voicemail, and the same garbled voice was back. I rebooted the phone and it cleared up.
Still think it's the noise canceling mic and would love to be able to disable it.

It's not too bad, just follow the directions closely (I think they're in the general section). After having done it so many times recently, I don't need to look at them anymore. Although it was difficult to go back to stock after having used Slim for so long!

[Q] Garbled "alien" voice when making/receiving calls

Hi, I am currently using Slimbean 4.3.1 on my phone with a baseband version T989DTLMC4 .. When I am making calls I hear a garbled "alien" voice .. sort of like it's coming from underwater.. and the guy from the other end hears it too!! I have tried enabling the "noise suppression" from phone settings but didn't get any result! but the catch is when I restart my phone it becomes okay for a while and then it happens again!! I would really appreciate if anybody could help me ! Thank you !

Best to just try a different ROM then and see how it is.

As I don't flash my s2 anymore, I can only suggest trying a bunch and deciding what you like best.
I always seemed to return to 4.1.2 based ROMs. Usually no glitches.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
sadly I have the same issue here...it has to do with calls over 3g. If I switch to 2g that tends to eliminate the alien noise. this can be a nuisance for me since I use GPS and the browser for work quite often, and 2g can be pretty slow for those. so anytime I get a call I have to reject it, switch to 2g, and then call back.
Are you using the speaker phone when this "alien" voice happens?

[Q] No audio in phone but Skype/Viber OK?

I've got a head scratcher that I can't fix. I can't hear anything in calls and the other end can't hear me. My speaker and mic work perfectly in all other applications - I can record video and hear the audio in that, I can make and receive calls in Skype and Viber and the speaker and mic work flawlessly in both but the standard phone just doesn't work. I hear the rising been after dialling and then nothing - I can't hear it ringing and can't hear anything once it is answere and the other end don't hear me.
Phone was totally stock (not even rooted) when this first happened and I figured I'd fix it through a new rom so I rooted and first one I tried was an old familiar ARHD (I'd used the equivalent on my last phone) and it was odd as I think that seemed to fix it for the first test call and then stopped again. This seemed to be an oddity as no other rom I've tried even worked once.
I figured something Samsung was still updating after the install and causing the problem so next I tried Cyanogen 11 - didn't work even once. Tried Cyanogen 10.1.3, same thing. Just tried the AOSB rom and still the same thing...
Really not sure what to do now - any ideas?
Thanks,
DF
Hi,
Custom ROMs can be difficult and might be a source of the issue itself. Since your issue was present before installing the custom ROM, we might be able to assist. Please open a support ticket at this link: http://bit.ly/1aOwGy2 and a support agent will be in touch.

Hi,
Thanks for the offer of help but Viber actually works perfectly - it's just the built in phone that stopped working. Unfortunately GiffGaff don't seem to support Viber In for all calls otherwise I would just enable that and not worry about the normal phone not working...
Thanks,

Callee: very bad audio when calling

Recently I have been getting very bad sound when calling someone.
I can hear the callee perfectly but they can barely hear me, I sound like a 'fish in the water' or with a very big 'echo'.
This has been the case after updating to Lollipop.
Hi,

I Am Assuming you are using Stock Lollipop FW from Sony
Head to Settings>Call
Enable Microphone Noise Suppression, Set the Equalizer to Bright and enable the Speaker Voice Enhancement
Also make sure you are on Max Volume when In-calls

Nope, I only tried the solution suggested above, I have yet to encounter the problem again.
I just tried same thing with equalizer. I will see if this will work. @Devenda, any news since 2 days ago?

Nope, still stable, I tested it but the audio was clear.
Problem is that this issue comes and go's randomly, so all I can do at this moment is wait...
None of the suggestions described worked for me. This bugged me so much I was forced to run to RR rom.. Problem solved but I miss Sony's great battery life ??
I have the same problem.
Only the equaliser was different (normal), I've changed it to bright and will see.
Don't you think it is a problem with radio reception ? I'm not sure but I think I have not the same number of bars than before. I haven't got an other 4G phone to compare.
Equaliser doesn't work for me.
I have changed prefered network, it was 4g prefered. I've changed to 3g. It seems to be working.
Can somebody try ?
I solved my problem during the calls when i unchecked the improvement of voice
If you have tried all the other options and still not working but you have v4a sound mod installed, this might help - http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/help/viper4android-deactivates-mic-t3124764
I had same problem after update to lollipop and try everything mentioned before and nothing helped. Then I low down speaker volume ( volume key down) while call is active and that worked for me. I suppose that lollipop have some problem with duplexer. Level of sound in speaker is litle low but at least caller can understand me normally.

Greetings, I hope you are fine.
I'll just let you know my experience with that, I had a similar one to yours. Instead my voice was stuttering and ghostly, like something came out of Paranormal activities. xD
The only solution I found to this was that it was a problem with the hardware itself, IE. the mic of your phone. Maybe you wanna give your phone to the warranty company and see what they say about it. In my case, they fixed it and it's working fine now.
I hope I helped
Yours.
