[Q] How to change font size of Samsung stock email - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Does anyone have problem of Samsung stock email for the note 10.1 2014 displaying the email message body in a very large size?
I used settings to change the font size to small, extra small and even tiny and the mail body font is still way too big.

Yes, I have an issue with this as well.
Email font is just way too large compared to everything else.
Has anyone found a solution or work around?

I ended up finding the solution on AndroidCentral, you just need to go into the settings of the email app. Under "General" and "Display" and uncheck "Auto fit content". You will then be able to resize content to you preference.

[Q] Large contact photo's on homescreen?

Hey all, a while ago I was browsing threads for my old Moto Milestone, and saw a screenshot where the person had large contact icons on his homescreen (about equiv to 1x1 widget per contact). I thought I had read they were using either FolderOptions or BetterCut, but when I try to setup either, the contact photos always come out tiny. Am I messing up the setup of either of these, or could someone who has done this either either program, give me a hand.. Or even could someone point me to a way to do this? I always found the HTC People/LauncherPro Plus one kinda lacking, and REALLY lacks customization.
All I'm really looking for is a Contact photo on my homescreen that when I click it would either popup the little contact slide bar(phone/txt/email/etc) or just take me straight into HTC People contacts. Ability to turn on/off contacts name text would be a bonus!
Any help/app suggestions?
Wow.. 46 views and no one has a suggestion or even a comment?
How about this.. anyone know if it's possible, or what I'd have to hack, to increase the thumbnail size from the original Shortcuts -> Contacts or Shortcuts -> People to increase the size and remove the frame? (either full 1x1 widget size, or even 2x2 would work beautifully)
I believe you can use an app called "desktop visualiser"
Haven't used it for that purpose myself but i don't see why it shouldn't work.
Hope it helps.

OMFG That was EXACTLY what I was trying to find something to do! You are a life-saver.. I had given up finding something to do it, and just started learning to write an app to do it myself LOL Oh well, maybe I'll keep writing and see what I end up with.. but this is seriously the perfect tool for me.. It's gonna take over like 65% of my homescreen space now lol

HTC One X Font Size

Hi there. Just received my HTC One X today and it's a really nice phone!
One thing that really bothers me is the gigantic fonts!
I have set the font size to "small" in the settings but when I opened up apps like Email or Messaging, the font is still sooo big. I cannot zoom out.
Have you guys experienced this?
I used to own a Galaxy Nexus and the fonts are much smaller when you set it to "small", but on the One X small is actually Large on the Nexus.
Is it a One X issue or is it something to do with the HTC Sense? Is there a solution? Or is there a setting somewhere else that allows me to decrease the font size?
Thanks in advance!!
Push
Please HELP!!!
None of you thinks the fonts are too large?

The font size in the email app is too big...I wondered if I were the only one who is annoyed by this. Changing the font size in Mail Settings doesn't do anything at all. This and some other bug definitely should be fixed!
Not sure about the email app, as I only use gmail, but you can change font size in the htc sms / messages thread view by using 2 finger pinch and what ever the opposite gesture is called - just like to can in google maps and gallery.
Found out by accident
Yes there are more of us who are affected with this bug... I think it is a shame that phone of this calibre can't render HTML e-mail readable...
I was hoping this OTA update would have sorted this, but it looks like not enough people are complaining about it.
Probably the only thing that annoys me about the phone.

You can use pich-to-zoom in email, but you can't zoom-out to a reasonable size..
Setting font size in Mail Settings to small helps a little if there's a plain text email, but if it's html or smth, it doesnt do much..
I just hope HTC would fix this

I have noticed the same issue with the Font size not staying Small when you set it to Small.. it's very annoying and for sure a software problem that they should fix. I posted a message on AndroidCentral as well and I also opened a support case on HTC's website.. Maybe if we all do that it will get attention. Its quite annoying the font is HUGE
I agree, font size is way too big. It is definitely a Sense thing. In pure ICS the font size is changed throughout the user interface. A solution for now, until HTC fixes the problem, could be to use a different launcher e.g. Apex. Unfortunately we'll lose the HTC widgets...
the first thing I do every time I install a ROM is change LCD Density to 280. This helps. I then change fonts to small also.
LCD density modder pro is a couple of quid - well worth it tho - it fixes thye market too.
I have this problem as well. I can pinch-zoom to make it larger but it won't go any smaller and its still massive.
Any ideas? http://elektro.c0.pl/
There have been 3 updates already since I bought the HOX but none of them solves the front problem...
It's been a month & a half and I've started to give in and am less bothered about it now...
Still hope HTC would add a "tiny" option to the font size tho.

There's a mod in the development section that installs smaller fonts via cwm

the large(r) font was a plus for me when i chose the OneX over the OneS.
Font size changes randomly
I've also had the font size issue, but for me it seems to be random. I'll open a text and the font will be tiny, and then without leaving the messaging app I'll open another text and the font will be large. I can even go back to the first text and it will still be tiny. I've tried resetting the fonts and the pinch-to-zoom, but when the font is big there's nothing I can do to make it small.
The default size is very large, but I'm fairly happy with it on small, then again, not everything adheres to this "small" policy. I'm interested in changing the DPI of the screen to see what more I can get out of the 720p screen. That would, of course, require root though.

Take a screen shot and post it and lets see.
(power and home)
I definitely have the font size switching [1.88 Stock]. It's particularly egregious in the default SMS messaging app, but as pointed out, pinch-to-zoom works great.
Also, as the lesser of two evils, I've set System Font Size to Small (which is just a bit too much space for me), so that the SMSes I get aren't ginormously sized at time-zero (maybe 10 or so lines per screen).
But what I'm trying to figure out now, is whether HTC's default Mail app has configurable font size for replies. It's currently set to 'Small', but when I look through my work email at my desktop, I can see that HTC mail reformats not only my mail but also the preceding mail header in the chain to Arial size 12pt. (yes, horrifying)
Besides switching to a third-party app, has anyone found a workaround for a stock phone?

Email Font Size

Finally got the stock Email App working for Yahoo mail and prefer it to the k-9 App I was using previously apart from two issues;
The font size when reading emails is too large
It doesn't seem to be possible to get images to load automatically when opening an email.
I'm pretty sure there is a way to fix this but cannot find anything in settings.
1) In the e-mail account you maid, Menu > Settings > General Settings > Mail body font size.
2) Try Menu > Settings > Sync, Send & Receive > Receive Setting, Try increasing the Mail size limit & make sure its set to HTML, might work.
Doesn't solve the problem.
Some mails you can't even scroll left and right to see the whole mail.
Another quality HTC application
I have the same issue which is annoying since it was fine on my Sensation. In Sense 3.6 you had a setting to set the font to smallest which was perfect.
Anyone know if the stock ics maill app is any better. This is the only thing I Hate about the phone.

I am indeed using the ICS Stock email app for this very reason. However I find that the system-wide minimum font size is still too large and even though my mail text size is set to tiny, using the smallest font size in ICS settings still renders the mail notification text to be large.
i have the same issue. the font is just too big. if you carefully watch it when you open an email. the font starts out normal size then goes super large.

Email font very large

Is anyone using the stock email app (non-gmail)? When you reply to an email, the font size is huge. Turning down font size to smaller in system settings only makes the font size of the inbox smaller but seems to have zero impact on the font size of email replies. Thoughts?

Yeah ... been struggling with this myself. It's during email composition... I can't find anything that will reduce the size of the email during response. Nothing.

Are you using the default application as there is a menu bar under the CC/Bcc with formatting options, turn down the text to 9p and it should help.
That only helps marginally. What's more surprising is that changing the email applications DPI does not seems to alter the size of the forms during email composition.
Very odd.
I wish someone more versed in Android UI design would comment.

Anyone know how to actually change the reply font?
I see the size but not the default font. It isn't a big deal but I don't particularly like the serif font

[Q] Strange font input

Hi
My htc One has just been upgraded to Lollipop and I note that all the descriptive text (such as the snippets of emails , unread counts on icons, etc) is showing up as outline only as on attachment. I cannot find a setting which allows me to modify this although I have tried a number of different fonts and also looked for some means of editing on both Android settings and my Nova launcher as well. I'm sure there's a setting I can use SOMEWHERE, but so far I'm unable to find it. Any ideas out there?
Thanks
