light leakage - LG Optimus G Pro

hi guy! i had this problem with my phone. it functioning well, but this light leakage thing keep bugging me. what i want to ask was that to fix the light leakage do i need to replace the lcd or only the digitizer i'm not really good at hardware so please help me out thank out. and here the picture of the problem sorry for the bad english

Pretty sure that's an issue with the LCD itself. Was the actual front LCD and digitizer ever changed out because of a crack or something. Could have been replaced with a cheap replacement

Use Nova/Apex launcher and set the top and bottom shadow in the desktop settings area. Might reduce it a bit with brighter coloured backgrounds

It sounds like they are sending you the parts for another phone.
You are right about being cautious with your wife's phone.
Can you call the shop you bought both of the screens from and verify the type of phone that they are sending the part for?
You may have 2 perfectly good screens for a Inc S.
OR, but highly uncommon that your video card has crashed in a way that it could be corrupting every screen that you throw at it.
I don't think there is any way that the screen can be damaged by the phone in a way that is causing BOTH screens to fail.
But just to be safe, I would wait for advice from someone with more experience on the matter..
That or see what the shop says.
When you heated up the unit could you have melted any solder connections around the components?
That should be lead free solder with a higher melting point than regular solder.
Good luck..
Thanks for your response and when I heated it up the logic board was already out of the phone so no heat was applied to it but I will call the shop I didn't think about it being and incredible s screen I wonder if that would make a difference although their website says the screen os for the s and 2 but again thinks for your response

LCD problems

Edit... I origianlly posted this in the general forum but was hoping to maybe get a little more input on this issue here.
So I installed a brand new LCD + Digitizer and it seemed to be working for the first few moments and then went back to doing its weird color changing.
Even with the new screen if I squeeze on the phone or apply a gentle twisting motion to the phone I can eventually get the color looking normal, but once the pressure is off the phone the color goes back to being a dark pink / redish color. Also I do notice a new symptom, the 4 touch buttons at the bottom of the screen do not light up with this new digitizer.
What are the chances that the new lcd is junk? Or could this be a more serious issue like the logic board being damaged? Are their any methods that I can take to ruling out the board? I payed 259$ for a brand new board 6 months ago and if its bad this POS is retiring its life!

OMG!!! Look at this thread - screen replacement ;)

Hi, I'm wanting to replace my HOXs screen.
There are yellow spots on the screen, does this mean I need to replace the lcd panel as well or if I just replace the glass/digitizer will this fix the yellow spots?
Also, I managed to fix a galaxy ace screen (glass/digitizer) by separating the digitizer from the lcd panel and the lcd panel is fine. I know it has been said it's not really possible to separate the two with the HOX but if I have managed to do it for the ace, do you think it's possible for the HOX??
Any thoughts would be appreciated
You don't really need to replace the screen if you have orange spots ,just put the screen on full brightness over night and your problems will be solved , if you want to replace the screen ,replace the whole thing as you said I have seen only one video out of 60 that the guy was successful in ceperating digitiser from LCD ,good luck
They will disapear after some time. I had the spots too.
Thanks for the replies.
Sorry I forgot to mention that the screen is cracked too. But my main concern was separating the lcd from the digitizer. I did do it for the ace and it was pretty easy buy if you think I would be better off to replace the panel and digitizer, then I'll do that.

The things is, the ace and the hox are very different devices. Just because you've managed to seperate digitizer and screen on the ace doesn't mean you could do that on the hox too. Just compare the space between LCD and digitizer of both devices and you'll see what I mean.

You wont manage to seperate the screen from the digitizer trust me, i tryed it and the glue is too strong + the lcd is too fragile.

Screen issues, need some help

During my daily walk last week, I was obviously sweating so badly that while talking it ended up getting sweat down thru the headphone jack. The bootanimation sounds, keypad tones for emergency dialer also. A faint purple tint can be seen while screen is in the "on" position but no graphics whatsoever. Is this the digitizer? If so, any other parts I should expect to go bad along with it? How complex is the swap out?
The moisture is just a theory based on the timing that the screen decided to stop working.
thanks in advance
It's not the digitizer buy I know what you mean, try pressing and sorta move the screen so it can come back, or replace the LCD, this phone is easy to take apart trust me

i have wiggled, pushed on, banged on, cursed at and anything else imaginable to attempt to get the screen back on. so this is a lcd issue and not digitizer? need to fix this device for the wife, so she will have something new to lose.

Just try all of the above on the wife. In the end it might work out better. Lol. Sorry. I've seen digitizers with LCD on eBay like $10 with free shipping. Honestly if you're replacing one you're right there on the other one.

[Q] Help: dropped devise-screen not shattered, but display is black only how to fix

Thankfully i dropped my nexus7 with a poetic case that i got in the mail yesterday. The tablet screen looks ok (no cracks). the back of devise has a crack near the power button about the length of the camera cut out. there is also a slight crack near the camera about half the length of the camera cut out.
the devise will turn on, but all i can see is a "lit" blank screen. I can't see anything else. It just displays white light. can this be fixed and if so how?
Your backlight works still, but your LCD has either come loose internally, or you have broken it so that it will not display a screen :\

so if i were to repair it i would need to only buy a LCD screen? how to check if the LCD is loose internally? can you provide screen shots and or a vid of someone pointing out the location. LCD can become broken even with no cracks to the screen
tyvm
If you need screens, you may not want to attempt the fix. Its not terribly difficult, but you should have a general knowledge of hardware repair and electricity. Ifixit has a teardown
