Ive been looking for an extra S-pen to do the "pilot g-2" pen-holder mod to make writing easier,
and it seems like note 3 s-pen replacements are half the price of the note 10.1 2014 s-pens.
Do both pens share the same dimensions?

The Note 3 S - Pen is shorter, if you need a thicker more ergonomically comfortable S - Pen, I suggest you get the Samsung Enhanced S - Pen with eraser.

As long as you don't mind an offset between the end of the pen and where the Note thinks the end of the pen is.

The Note 3 stylus is about 1/4 inch shorter and a bit thinner. The Note 3 stylus will go into the Note 10.1 2014 but falls out immediately, and the Note 10.1 stylus won't go into the Note 3 at all.

Agreed, I got mine through Amazon and there have been no issues with this stylus, nor the Bamboo Feel for Note v2.

Why not just get the S-Pen (larger) adapter? It comes with a extra 5.3 Note Stylus, so at least if you loose the one in your phone you will have a spare.

I use a Wacom pen with mine and the eraser works with it so I am also pretty sure that it will work with the 5.3
Now that we will have a choice between the pen holder or the 10.1 pen, i would definitely go for the 10.1 pen, reasons being:
1. Eraser
2. Thinner than the holder
3. The button on the new pen is higher up making it less likely for you to accidentally press it in use.

Rubber....you have to rub for about an hour and nothing happens.....oh wait I was using an actual pencil just kidding. The "rubber" end is normally just plastic but just sends a different signal to the screen I believe

Yeah, this works perfectly, as does any stylus from the Lenovo x-series convertible tablets (NOT the one from the Thinkpad slate tablet, which is N-trig and not Wacom).

I have this one and would not recommend it. It is the original one they made when they first released the phone version of the Note. Although the pen makes a big difference to using the phones small S-pen, there is a button on the side of the holder that gets pressed unless you hold it a particular way and causes your writing flow to stop.
The way it works is that you place the small S-pen inside this holder which aligns itself with the button and then you just twist the holder into place. It does come with a spare S-pen, the one made for the original Note.
If you want a full sized pen, you should go for any Wacom pen enabled pens that also have the eraser on the end, the eraser works well with S-note and other apps that support the eraser function. It may also be a good idea to order different tips and depending on your preference, use the one that suits your usage patterns.

You can have a read through arjag's other thread to get recommendations, I have the one for the Lenovo x61t which works well however I have not yet tried other tips yet which I will do, the original ones,I tend to find are not as smooth as the one fitted on the new S-pen of the Note 10.1.

I was really hoping that Samsung had actually released a pen holder kit that fitted and came with a n8000 replacement stylus.
As mentioned I my other thread, I am too disappointed in the performance of the Lenovo pen to use it.

Um, how would you write when you are on a call?
How about just using a BT headset as a BT headset and the pen as a pen?
This seems like a gimmick to me with few practical uses.

I agree that the bt pen seems to be a gimmick too. After using a dual mic (dsp) headset there is no going back. I am very happy with my Plantronics Voyager Pro.
It really does seem there is no such thing as a "Galaxy Note 10.1" S Pen holder kit and Samsung are just trying to get rid of un sold ones.
I think this is a bit rude of Samsung!

I don't believe there is one that will fit , But there are plenty that will not fit but are very nice.

My friend has a Tegra Note, and the Pen comes with an eraser. Wish we can do the same.

No, they will not. What you need to look for are tips that are completely straight and don't get any larger at the tip. I personally have not been able to find any that dont also come with a pen.
