For those who haves boot problem(custom roms) ENTER if you want a solution :)

Hi guys
Firstly: special thx for (deadly46) and (devwithcookies) for helping me (I was have boot problem)
I will write this subject for those who have a problem with booting (in custom rom) like stuck in boot animation in cm roms or miui roms or any other rom
So your problem will be solved.
Firstly u should to have cwm
Secondly: download this ext4 formater ( http://www.mediafire.com/?8p6s9mlpqwowq51 )
Then flash any rom you wanna
Here's an detail steps :
1-Go into cwm recovery
2-wipe system
3-wipe chace
4-wipe dalvik chace
5-flash the ext4 formater
7-flash the rom you want
8-wipe chace
9-wipe dalvik chace
10-reboot system
11-enjoy
That's all...

Theres a problem in step 8.
You shouldnt wipe system after flashing, as this will undo the installation of the rom.
1 ext4 formatter(only if on RFS)
2 install
3 reboot
Should be enough.

[Q] Best CWM for Gio?

I want to know what the best CWM for the Gio is?
I don't want PX-Recovery just CWM Recovery
I am new on XDA and just want to know somethings
And i want to know this because I want to flash Jelly Bread CM7.2

I don't want CM9 (where the rom is based on) because its laggy (my friend say so)
And I can't find CWM 7.2
And I think with cwm 7.2 you mean CM 7.2

Can I please get some help? I would really appreciate it! And I would really like to install the ROM!

RFS Filesystem
EXT4 Only Filesystem
Download & Place this recovery on root of your sdcard
Power off your phone
Enter recovery mode (Hold Home + Power button)
Install this cwm from recovery
Reboot and enter recovery, now you have CWM !

*You sayed that the gio s3 lagy?!!!!
I'm using it now and its awesome. and in 10 times 1 time lags a little
So that's is not lag..

No I'm saying that CM9 is laggy and that is where the S3 ROM is based on.
But what CPU settings are you using?

I'm using ondemand ( if it will lags alot I will change it to a faster CPU)
* I know its based on cm9 and cm roms lagy but with this rom I didn't found any lag and if my phone lag it lags a little..
But I had a problem with it and the problem is root... I don't have root
So can you help me with root ??
(Android 4.0.4 ics)

Which recovery do you use?
And you can try to re-flash the ROM.
And did you ever had an other ROM? And did you ever had this problem before?

1- cwm 5.0.6
2- yes I was have cm9 jb 4.1.1(haves alot of problems)
3- yes I was have the problem in cm9 jb 4.1.1 and still now I have it in this rom.!!!

CWM 5.0.6.?
And CM9 is not 4.1 but 4.0 because CM10 is 4.1
And what baseband do you have? You can find it at Options and then About Phone

Oh am sorry for the mistakes
Am using cwm 5.0.2.6
And yes its cm10 am sorry

I tried to format my phone and the root problem has ben not solved

First try updating to CWM 5.0.2.7
And if that fails try the original Samsung firmware for a newer baseband on your GIO and then you have to root and then you have to re-flash CWM and the S3 ROM.

Cwm version 5

when i flash it again i flash firstly the cwm5.0.2.7 then i reboot my device
then i go to recovery then i flashed the rom
but........nothing solved
your way is a little difficult but i will try it ... and i will post a reply

[Q] Black Screen No Launcher on new Maclaw CM11 12/16

Can anyone please ADVICE me on what I'm not doing right?
Please, my problem is I just installed the new Maclaw CM11 on top of your CM10.2 for Ace II.
I followed the usual instructions, but after reboot I get a black screen. No launcher. I can only access settings from the drop-down tile panel.
What am I not doing right? Please advice. Thanks.

I have even flashed back to stock via ODIN and reflashed via CWM to CM11 but systemui is still broken.
Any suggestions on what could be wrong?

I finally fixed it. I had to download the full stock Gapps from the Gapps thread and when I flashed that together with a reflash of the CM11, it worked!

i have the same problem what gapps do you use Ps: i have samsung galaxy s plus but with the same problem

I use the Full Google Stock Gapps from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
That is the 11/26 one. Not the full modular Gapps but the Full Google Stock Gapps that includes the PhotoSphere and the Google Experience launcher.

From Stock to RR?how?

Srry for the dumb question...I am Running On 4.1.2 stock rom and kernel and wanted to jump to resurrection remix and i am a bit confused what all i have to do to get to RR... if anyone can please provied a step by step tutorial ..it will really help:fingers-crossed:

You want RR 4.4 or 4.2. I'll answer depending on that.

well i dont really even know which offer what benifits :crying: but which ever is better for gaming will do as mostly i use my grand for gaming :fingers-crossed:

Then you have to upgrade to 4.2.2 to flash kk ROMs.

ok so first step is to update to official 4.2.2 rite?

1 more stuid question....u see this is gone be my first attempt to flash a custom rom ...if by mistake smthing goes wrong...i can reflash a official stock firmware to correct it rite? or flashing roms can also brick my device? kinda scared

+1....has been smooth sailing from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 to RR.....jut have to follow PROCEDURES with a good quality usb cable for sure....one u r in to your custom recovery......voila.............:good::good::good:

Just download RR latest build and RR gapps and put them in external sd. Now go to cwm and do a full wipe and flash both RR ROM and RR gapps. reboot. You're good to go.??

Ok Finally gained the courage to flash my first custom rom!!! I AM DOING IT :victory::victory:
1 last question do i need to do anything else after i flash the RR rom And gapps?? or just reboot? Like i have read many threads where they say to clear cache and dalvik smthing ( i dont even know what it even means)

Before flashing rom and gapps. You have to wipe data and while cache partition and go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache.

Hello, i've been using 4.4.2 CM11 and Carbon ROM i don't know if i'm doing something wrong but they are very laggy! scrolling is choppy and laggy even the stock rom 4.2.2 is way smoother, please help.

this should not happen
i have tried carbon on my grand and everything was quiet ok even scrolling was nice
you may are running many unwanted crappy apps in background which cause such problems
try to wipe cache in recovery and see if everything is fine or not

Trust me i have tried everything, and even after a complete factory reset everything is choppy, Even without downloading a single app

reflash stock rom and then have a fresh install ofcarbon rom and you will have no problem brother

Do this
*) Wipe everything including internal SDcard (backup everything before that).
*) Flash KitKat ROM.
*) Use LagFix (available on play store)
