Hopes for htc ONE X to update :
Before questions could even kick off, HTC revealed in their Reddit AMA that — although they may not have the best track record when it comes to delivering timely Android software updates in the past — they’re hoping to change this image moving forward. How, you ask? Well, HTC has formally announced their new commitment to support all their future flagship devices with major updates for 2 years after they’ve been released.
Pretty bold words, considering HTC recently announced that the HTC One X and One X+ would no longer receive updates past Android 4.2.2 (which just rolled out last month, by the way). But according to HTC, it was a lack of support from NVIDIA that caused them to drop support for the global One X and One X+ (which ran the NVIDIA Tegra 3 chipset). So then what happened to the One X/XL in the US that uses a Qualcomm processor? Apparently, they didn’t feel like it would have been fair to only update X, while leaving the X+ users high and dry.
But, after much feedback from the One X community, HTC is now announcing that they’ve changed their tune, and are “actively exploring” how they can upgrade the HTC One X to Android 4.4 KitKat.
http://phandroid.com/2014/02/14/htc...s-for-2-years-exploring-kitkat-for-the-one-x/
Seriously?!? And, of course, they would only update the One X using the Qualcomm chipset, meaning the AT&T One X and the One XL? And leave the X+ completely out?
Sure, it would make some HTC One X users happy, but leave MOST of us ANGRY AS HELL.
I don't get it, why not pressure Nvidia to give support for their chipset? They did provide support for the Nexus variant, why not resurrect support for our version as well?
Well fingers crossed ,may be some glimmer of hope still .
So really we should be petitioning nvidia as well as htc

HTC promises to explore Kit Kat possibility for one X. But explicitly stated that is the North American version. Can we expect some love for the international version too...

But what does exploring mean? I mean they are talking about the updates like they are going camping. How well it would run.... That is a joke statement i hope.
Edit: i dont think it is only for the evita btw

Made one for nVidia too Here
Sign and share this too because its actually nvidia who is not providing support.

That seems to be the right way to do it. Looks to me that Google already presured nVidia because the T30/T33 versions got 4.3/4.4 BSP and the AP33 didn't. Very strange since the architecture of those chips are almost the same. So nVidia has no reason not to release the same BSP sources for the AP33.
HTC should pressure them hard because theyve bought a lot of chips from nVidia and they cannot just cancel support after less than two years.

As this being the "general" forum of latest HTC's android flag ship, I'm asking here.
After HTC released only WP8 devices on the 19/9/2012, I heard they will have another release on 26/9/2012. I'm really waiting for their phablet because the Note 2 is very expensive and the GPU is old..
Thanks
Football often knows these things ahead of most people, subscribe to his twitter feed (football4pda or something) and you'll likely find out before htc release to the general public

The next HTC device could arrive quicker & more of a powerhouse than you think.....
----
Speculation is mounting that the next Google Nexus 5 will in fact be the HTC One X 5. GSMArena.com has received a tip saying the 5-inch display-sporting Android handset will be made by HTC, and has even been passed on some specs.
According to the tip-off, the Nexus 5 will house a Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, a 12-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper and a whopping 64GB of internal memory storage. It will also use a 2,500 mAh battery and will offer LTE connectivity.
However, what really stands out is the claim that the display will be 1080p – a huge task for a screen size of 5-inches.
Of course, it being a Nexus-branded device, we can expect the phone to run on the latest version of Android, with GSMArena citing the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 operating system, providing bug fixes and Project Butter for a smoother user experience.
Pocket-lint has been told that the HTC One X 5 is real (also known as the HTC Droid Incredible X), despite the handset having yet to emerge from its hiding place. When it does finally appear could it be in the shape of the Google Nexus 5?

Now if that is the case I'm sure this could be a huge success for HTC! We all know the device is real and out there but the question is what will it be a nexus or a HTC Sense device?

I personally prefer HTC Sense over AOSP but let us S-OFF our device

Paul O'Brien over at Modaco has already stated the 5 device from HTC is in actual fact a Verizon One device
@PaulOBrien: I'm confused by 'claims' the HTC 5" device is a Nexus. It's a 'One' for Verizon AFAIK...

Same. Never buying HTC again.

Well, it's not really a surprise now, is it? HTC had to to something with a flagship that's now 6 months old. Seeing how Samsung is selling its Galaxy range like hotcakes and they keep churning out new models, HTC has to keep up.
I'm actually happy that they've kept the overall hardware setup similar to the One X. For us One X owners that should mean longer ongoing support, since there is no technical limitation for One X+ updates to be applied onto the One X. At least they're not launching a gazillion iterations of the same phone like they did in 2010 and 2011...
I must say the larger battery annoys me, though. But I take the One X's looks any day...
It's worthy to buy HTC OneX?
Is the Tegra3 Development have full source?
How is the true tegra 3 performance?
Is the HTC One X is future proof?
ask google
It's future proof but updates are slow. but yeah its powerful.if your a fan of pure android though better getting a nexus device
But then you still got miui also

Im the sort of person who won't buy something for the sake off it so I'll probably run my one x into the ground before I even think about a new phone.

can we start calling it the two x? can we make it a new thing? pretty please? lol
Well, what I always do is buy the successor then decide which one to keep a month later...this year the One X has grown on me....so it may be a keeper for another year
Probably give it to my partner... She's been eyeing it up ever since I got it. I'll probably go for a Nexus 4 before my contracts up and I'm fairly certain this will be my last hTC device even though I love the build quality and design. That is unless their policy with regard to s-off/updates becomes a lot less sucky.
My next phone would be HTC Two X, then HTC Three X and....
Yep same. Stuck in a 24 month contract but I'm already starting to think about a new device. The One X is great but I'm pretty sure this will be my last HTC. Again, the s-off nonsense and laxidasical approach to releasing sources coupled with being spoilt with the openness of Nexus have all made me reconsider

Depends on what the 2x has, is its too hard to pass up ill sell my one x and get one, if not ill keep the one x and honour my whole 2 year contract

I'm probably done with HTC, I'm waiting a while because I think Google will release a 32GB Nexus 4. At that point I'll buy a 16GB Nexus 4 for $300 instead of $350.

For now i'm happy with one x,what can they do more ?

Keep the One X+
Like several others, I'm on the 2yr plan. I really like the One X+ so far.
I had an Aria, then an Inspire 4G before and really like HTC build quality.
Much better than my dad's Samsung Galaxy SII.
I think I'll get a nexus device for my next phone. I actually really wanted a galacy nexus but was spec struck by the one x... And quicker updates wpyld be nice. That said it would be interesting to see what they come up with next.

Like other people said when I'll change my hox I'll jump ship and probably buy a gphone. The problem is not the s-off itself but the warranty matter that comes without it. It's a pity cos htc always made really good phones and I'm with it since the good old htc magician with windows mobile 2003.

GUys I need some advice from you.
As you know HTC will be releasing HTC M7 in Q1 this year (2013)
I'm considering whether I should wait for the M7 (or other new models release this year) or just get the One X+
We don't even know what the merely-codenamed device looks like yet...
Why not the butterfly?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Wait for good! There might be a Tegra 4 HTC device in Q1.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
ok i sell then the HOX and buy the tegra 4 HTC device

Love mobile game.
Wait for M7+
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
If I was you I'd skip the X+ and wait for something newer.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
If I was the one getting a new phone I would have waited for a new device possibly tegra 4. I personally would wait for a possible new phone to check how it will be and for the price drop after a new model released. Unless your are in a new of a new phone now or don't care about the money.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
If the M7 comes out, then One X+ price will drop. If price is not the issue for you, then definitely wait for M7. With Butterfly flying around, I wouldn't even consider X+ at all. It'll be Butterfly or M7 for me to make my choice.
Looking at the specs of the Butterfly.
It does not seem a big difference and upgrade from the One X+
And besides, I also own a tablet which i will use it for gaming instead.
I don't think HTC will be a good choice.Maybe lumia 820 920(820has better performance cause of 800*480)One x+ is not so good.Maybe M7(if tegra4)

Why go for a windows phone? The platform is not sold yet better to stick with an android device if the op wants it. Just wait for the next set of handsets due very soon.
