Does anybody have any idea when the Samsung apps like Samsung remote will be updated so they work on the GN ?
Thanks Ross

Probably not until the next version of Samsung's TouchWiz comes out with ICS on their other devices. Otherwise they have no incentive to update them to work on ICS because they won't have any devices running it.
Samsung isn't in charge of the apps on this device.
If I managed to get the apk for the app do you think it would work ?

Sure you could try but theres no guarantee it works as it should.
But like I said above you're never going to get these apps officially supported on these devices. The software comes from Google, not Samsung (unlike a SGSII, for example, which gets TouchWiz).
You can download samsung remote free from market

You can't if you are running ics it does not appear. If someone has a link to the apk that would be brilliant

Most of those Samsung apps require touchwiz, thus will FC out of the box.

This app can't require touchwiz I used to have it on my Desire HD

Not all, I was referring to the replacement apps that come bundled with touchwiz and some of the additional apps included.

Try looking for the foxfi addon. I heard that it sometimes helps. Also read the instructions when your setting it up.

a lot of those wifi apps claims they work without root, but it is only for certain phones
root your galaxy s3, it is the only way
Ok do you know where I can find a link on how to root the phone? I dont want to brick it since I just got it.

Where are the settings? Not in foxfi?

I've read that foxfi is not yet ready for our phones, maybe in the next update.

If your on the unlimited plan you cant share the network. They block it that's part of the contract no tethering or hotspot.

Worked fine on my phone before I rooted.
Any updates on this issue? Does rotting help make Foxfi work on our S3?
If you are rooted why don't you just use the wifi tether app for root from the play store. I just set my device as a galaxy s2 in the device settings in the app and it works. I am on the unlimited plan.

What settings are you referring to? Foxfi doesn't have any settings options that I've seen.
Yeah there really aren't any settings for this app.
When I try it on mine seems to start ok on the phone but computer can not connection to it.
I have even tried on my old sensation and it dont work with viper rom. Or a stock one s.
I've had the same problem with FoxFi. Install SVTP and set the profile to Samsung ICS. Still $15, but only once and its the only hotspot app I've found that can get around Tmobile's blocks on my stock nonrooted T999.
Hey just curious I was at the Sprint store today playing with the Galaxy Note 2 and noticed a really cool app. A drawing app that allows you to change the outcome of your pictures it's really cool but it's not the S note it's another app. Do you think this can be ported over to our galaxy s3
EDIT: never mind I found it in the app section

Although this promotion will work with any device Dropbox will still reset your account once their system notices the promotion wasnt activated from a Samsung Galaxy S4 device... Just an F.Y.I.
Quick question has anyone got their galaxy gear watch to work on quantum 4.4.2 rom by pwncakes. Im at work now so I dont have the chance to search.
Sent from my SGH-I747M using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I believe the gear requires the TouchWiz framework, so only tw roms will work.
You may have some luck getting some things to work but most features will not work without TouchWiz. I believe the cell works, but you'll more than likely come across errors while downloading the Galaxy Gear libraries.

Thank you for the help I just couldn't justify going back to touchwiz and for the price of the watch to only be able to use it for phone calls. It just wasnt worth it so I returned it to best buy.
