That, I saw that there are some Bumpers in eBay announced as "Genuine" those are cheaper that the ones that you can find for example in Amazon. The thing is that those are coming from China and the huge difference in price makes me doubt if those are really the same that Google sells thought the play store.

I don't see why they are fake? You can't just talk with no logic.
The seller has 17000 feedbacks which are 98% positive. Im sure he wouldn't get such high feedback if he sold fake cases. And its not like the case is 2$, its more than 20$.
Plus , even if hypothetically , HYPOTHETICALLY, they were fake, i wouldn't care. its a cheap plastic case to begin with ! lol
Thanks for the share, i just bought me one!

I can, and I'm right. but since you can't believe without seeing...
for starters the official one doesn't come in blue. secondly, in the pictures with the back of the packaging you can see the n5 has the wrong wallpaper colors. on the official one there are 5 very distinct colors, as you can see with the phone renders, but on this knockoff packaging the yellow/orange is very close to the red. if you actually have the two in hand you can see that the type spacing, font size and UPC code size are all wrong too, plus the blue packaging is the wrong shade. lastly, the sticker seal on the bottom of the packaging is different. and that's just the packaging, I won't even bother going into the car differences since both the knockoff and original suck

Hey I'm not saying its genuine, it could very well be fake. But in the end, does it really matter where the plastic is produced? its not a Spigen or Otterbox, it doesnt make a difference to me personally if its fake or not.
In case anyone needs this, heres a link to a website that makes the highest quality fake cases:
http://dx-box.com/nexus-5-bumper-case.html
I actually ordered the blue one and gray one from Amazon and even though they're most likely not authentic, they're extremely close. The case itself is almost identical to the Google one, other than the rubber side material possibly being slightly thinner. Makes the buttons easier to press. But from the naked eye its almost indistinguishable from the real one. I'm happy with both. They seem to hold up against grime and finger prints a bit better than the Google cases. Worth it in my opinion. In addition they came in official looking Google packages that looked similar to the ones from the Play store but a bit different in design
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Who cares, the official bumper case is pretty crap and the finish peels apart super quick anyway. If the unofficial ones look the same, are cheaper, and come in more colours, bonus!
Here's a link to ones that cost even less. $12.55 with free shipping.

Exactly. When the official case is bad how can you expect a knock off version to be good? Just avoid these all together even $15 is too much for this crap.

Nice quality and phone nicely fits in it.

So you are saying that you think that those on sale on Amazon for about 38 USD are note authentic? I don't think those are fake, I think that price reduction on those came when Google sold accessories with 25% off.
But those on ebay I'm pretty sure are fake now. in Any case I'm considering pull the trigger and get one

Price isn't everything. If they think they can sell a knock off version for $38 they certainly will try. Even the "cheap" ones at $15 are over priced for what they really are but play on the fact that compared to the official price it looks like a good deal.
At least if you buy it from Google they will send you a new one free of charge if it starts to peel or fade as many seem to do.
the regular priced ones are genuine, but the discounted ones are fake. save your money and buy something else, even the genuine ones are crap and make the phone very boxy
So did anyone get any of this cases?
Are they peeling as the original?

I'm going to buy this one on ebay tomorrow I'll report about the quality etc.
Well, I just love this 'Nexus' logo on the back, but I don't want to pay so much for the official bumper which is said to be on too perfect actually :/

I bought a red one for like 6$.
And yes it peels, but not that much.
But there is something really bad. The camera cutout covers the camera flash, and in low-light photos you get a red blur on your photos.
I'll post some pics later.

Background
I buy exensive devices, but I never want to buy expensive or large cases for my devices. I personally believe cases wreck the look and feel of a device, so if I am going to get one, I go minimalistic as possible. This is where the TPU case comes in.
TPU cases are nice because they fit tightly around the device and do not add much thickness or weight. They are better than your typical rubber, plastic, or silicone because they do not attract dust and hair and whatnot, while also being much studier.
The main thing I wanted to do was find the cheapest case I could and this one came out to $10, which is much better than paying $80 for a Zenus Prestige, or a Melko for over $100. This case was $10 and had free expedited shipping from a US seller and got here in 2 days.
Now About the Case
It comes in different colors, like white, smoke, and black. I chose the smoke so you could still see through the back a little bit. When it arrived it was in a padded envelope which was fine. It fits my Tab 10.1 quite well with all of the cutouts for buttons, headphone jack, speakers, mic, and 30 pin directly centered over where they should be. The only issue I have is that it is a tiny bit loose on the long sides, probably due to the numerous cutouts. Even with that issue it seems well made and adds some protection against dings, scratches, and drops and it doesnt attract dirt and things like that when you set it down. For $10 you really can't go wrong.
This case is for people that want to keep the same overall shape of the device, but have a little protection. This and a screen protector would keep the device protected well. It is for people that do not want to deal with the flaps and folds from the stand cases and it is also for people that are cheap like me.

Thank you, this case is exactly what I want. I was unsure what it would look like, but thanks to your pics I can see that it looks great. I'm buying one now.
I went ahead and ordered the tpu case. I hope it's much better than the **** gel case I ordered a couple weeks ago. That Chinese black gel case on ebay is low quality and poor fitment.
I use the same case for my tab I got a good deal on ebay with some high quality screen protectors included.
I also use a cheap neoprene case I bought from amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/SAMSUNG-P71...2C/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1310663987&sr=8-11
This is useful when transporting the Tab in the boot of my car and doubles as a stand if I roll it up and prop the Tab up on it.
TPU is definately the material of choice for this kind of case and the grip pattern at each end of the case make it easier to hold the Tab.
R
Love this case. The tab feels better holding. More grip for sure.
Just got mine today from ebay, i really love this. It feel so much better than having a naked tablet i just will never let my tab touch the ground lol
I got a black version from eBay and it arrived yesterday. Very nice because it's not see-thru, it's totally black and makes the Tab very stealthy... Build quality is good considering the price of $12 with free shipping.

I do like this case and think I will go for this in the time being until incipio comes out with there silicyrilic case next month or so. How does the weight feel to it? Does it seem durable if it was dropped or banged around? I would like to be able to bring it anywhere outdoors and keep it protected fairly well.

It doesn't add too much weight and it does seem to be quite durable. I haven't really dropped my Tab yet though and I plan on not doing it.

I wanted to share these with everyone. This is the TPU Case I have. Its a little bit different design as far as the textured grip goes. The non-textured part is also clear instead of a matte finish like the case the OP has.

Anyone tried this? The price may appear a little higher.
It's beautiful but I don't really like that it won't stand on every surface.
Got my Aura today. The case itself looks very nice and feels solid, though I believe it does look a bit off on my white model. Very strong distinction between the phone and the case. (In the images in OP the phone looks far more gray than the actual phones - perhaps an optical illusion from the background?)
The case can be a pain to get off - partly due to the phone feeling so fragile when you start putting force on it. This is a good thing from a case perspective, as I'm sure it won't easily come off when it shouldn't. It doesn't add a lot of size to the phone, but with a phone this big (and small hands) you can tell every little bit. Not bad, but I did have to adjust.
NFC does NOT work. Which I'm disappointed by. I use it for all the vending machines/restaurants here at work, where I usually have my phone in my hands already. Due to this, I may look at another case option that allows NFC. If it wasn't for this, I'd keep the case for sure.
Pulling it out of the box I echoed the thoughts of "I'm actually paying this much for a case?" from when I bought it. No Snake Surprise in a can, or confetti was expected, but it was anti-climatic. I expect cases to earn their cost when the device is finally dropped. No, I will not drop this on purpose, but it feels like it will protect it reasonably well. I say reasonably because it does not wrap much to the front of the phone, so a screen-first landing will certainly still have a higher risk of scratching - but I like that it doesn't add much thickness. Plus, it does come with a screen protector.
I like it, and may keep it. If you use NFC, skip this and look into a silicon option... Maybe the vibes? (Someone please post if that allows NFC) If you don't use this and you have the cash burning through your pocket, I'd suggest this to a friend.

Pretty much...
I like the look of these, fairly unique.
With that said,i already sent my refund request due to the nfc issue.
I bought the D3O case from tmobile, similar to this with a gimmicky "military grade" padding inside but so far i like it a lot. Nice grippy rubber coating on the outside and its fairly thin. Makes the phone not cramp your hand

Got a reply, and it was worth the $40. They are sending me a vibes case, and will contact me when their new NFC compliant version of the Aura is available to send to me. I'm always willing to pay a bit extra for a good company, and I certainly wouldn't have gotten this from an ebay seller. So while I'm not thrilled with the NFC issue initially, iSkin handled it perfectly.
Confirmed-No workie!

I tried NFC today for the first time with my iSkin Aura on my Samsung Galaxy S3. It definitely does NOT work. I held it up to my Nexus 7 several times with the case on in many different positions. Damn, I really like this case too. To confirm, I took the case off and tried sending a pic from the S3 to the Nexus 7 and presto chango, there it was. Now I need to decide if NFC is going to be used enough to have me looking elsewhere for a case. Anyone with any Option "2" cases for me? Anyone want to buy a Black/Red Aura? LOL! [email protected]
Peace, Out!

I have it on my schedule to call them today. Thanks for the heads up. I have purchased a few products from iSkin and they have always been great to deal with. I wouldn't have known about this if I didn't try and transfer a pic to my Nexus 7 yesterday. I was like "WTF"? I know this is supposed to work. Take the case off and presto/chango it works. I'll keep you posted.:good::laugh:
I wanted to share my experience and a review of a fake Spigen Neo Hybrid case I bought not too long ago. I got the idea from a few people who suggested getting the fake case now that the authentic has been discontinued so if you're still looking for this style and want to know what the price, quantity and shipping times are like keep reading.
The design of the case is obviously its main attraction and I have to give Spigen props for taking design cues from the handset itself and making it smooth, modern and overall aesthetically pleasing. The case itself is composed of a TPU shell with a polycarbonate color band that is interchangeable if you purchase more than one case.
I ordered a total of 3 cases and didn't see any visible manufacturing defects. At one point in the video above I point out that the band bows out a bit near the volume rocker but after closer inspection I noticed the band wasn't sitting flush with the TPU cutout and the problem remedied itself after I pressed it in properly.
I've done some intense gaming as well as normal charging to the phone and haven't noticed any sagging of the TPU on the back. The Volume rocker and Power buttons press in perfectly on all three of my cases which is good to hear considering the manufacturing problems Spigen had with the authentic ones. The quality of the materials used is top notch when compared to other hybrid cases I've used in the past but I can't compare them to the real case because I don't own one.
The case came in a nice packaging and included a decent screen protector but a really crappy microfiber cleaning cloth. I didn't mind to much considering I've got others to fall back on but just wanted to give you a heads up.
I paid $15ish for 3 cases shipped for free from China and they arrived in exactly 12 days even though I placed the order on a Sunday. The merchant included a tracking number and payment was held in escrow until I confirmed the arrival.
If you were as disappointing as I was that Spigen discontinued the Neo Hybrid style case for the Galaxy S3 then you may want to give the fake cases a try. At the dirt cheap price and good build quality it makes for an easy purchase even if you're usually conservative on accessory purchases.
Below some pics I took of the case and packaging.

The words on the color band aren't noticeable unless you're like 6 inches away from it. The grooves aren't deep enough so it doesn't catch much light at all making it hard to see. The MEGR on the other hand is noticeable from about a foot away from your face. The seller seemed really easy to work with. During my chat with him before I placed the order I asked if he could do a blue band with the blue back and he said yes and sure enough you can see it in the video. Didn't look as good as I thought it would in my head but at least he understood what I meant.

Do you have an authentic case or is it a fake as well? Feel free to share the link if you want, I know a few peeps would maybe prefer they not be mispelled.

Fake or so i think. The pakage it came in had errors all over. No authenticy card inside and cheap screen protector. But the case looks identical as the oem, or i think it does.
Dont have link anymore. Cant seem to attach anymore pics other than the one on the bottom

I left the link out of the review since I didn't know if it was appropriate to include it. Better safe than sorry, don't want the thread to get deleted. Check out the in depth review link and you'll find the source at the bottom.

Sweet! Thanks for the in-depth review. Gonna buy 3 of these babies and try em out. I really love the blue and lime green, not sure what my third colour should be though. Perhaps white?
I've just buy one in blue version for me.. It's a good fake spigen case But real problem for me is power button.. Very hard to press! Volume buttons are good. What can I do for making it softer?
Just recieved my black/green case. All fits great, my only gripe is that the side dont fit quite snug like im use to seeing. You can see it move when pressing the sides. Its a very thin tpu so dont expect much drop protection lol. Other than that its a great case. Would this case replace my zoogue tpu? Hell no! Would i rock it? Hell yes! Looks great. Bought it on ebay from seller nima22. Overall its a great replica case. Great color variances to choose from. Thinking of ordering black/red and black/white for my white gs3. Sorry only have 1 camera at the moment. Here are some pics of the case itself.

Seems reasonable to me, considering these are being sold in low volumes. If they were selling 100'000 of them they could bring the price down. But after the cost of designing the mold, making the mold. packaging, transit, employees, advertising, taxes, etc... you can't just sell them for what the actual price of the plastic is (which is actually the cheapest of all expenses).

Do you have any evidence of sales numbers or are you making it up to prop up the rest of your apologist argument?
It's still $14 for a bit of plastic. It's still gouging.

Well the fact that I am good friends with the owner and own a competing business, yes I have a pretty good idea what the sales numbers are. The same could said for any product.. "oh it's $50'000 for a piece of metal"
This company has always charged on the upper end. But people buy. For me, the difference in tpu cases doesn't warrant that much money

I personally buy at least a dozen different cases for any phone that I have, and I've never really put much thought into the cost of them. We are talking about products below $20, which to me is a very marginal amount. Otterbox gets away with charging $50 for their products (which ARE mass produced) I think Cruzer can get away with $14 for a limited run product. I suppose it depends on your income though, if you are a college student or unemployed maybe the price of a phone case is more important to you. Personally it's to my benefit for you to not by the Cruzer case, just pointing out that the margin isn't as high as you are implying after everything's considered.
I never got into buying multiple cases. They may be under $20 but it adds up. Otterbox is ridiculous, my friend buys the knock offs for $5, showed them to people and how similar it is to the real thing and sells them for $20. There is clear quality difference with small details, but they protect it the same and once it's on, you don't know better.... I don't think cruzer is overly expensive, but it's on the upper end. It's high enough for me that I would want more from my case than just tpu
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
damn that looks pretty good. Its between this, the nillkan slim or bear motion case, all less than 15 bucks each
and hey my first post. Now you all know about the phone case I may buy
These look sweet. It's worth a few bucks to rep some XDA pride. Besides, I just got 10% off with promo code "xda". Thanks google!
Cruzer lite always has sales anyway, and if you add them on Facebook they give away cases too, I have 4 cases for my n4 that were free from cruzer lite. They are not your typical "eBay" tpu, they are great quality, sturdy, and still look new even a year later....I have their nexus 7 cases as well, those were $20 but they always have buy two get one, break that down and its $13 a case, for me, that's cheap.
Diztronic cases are right up there with cruzer lite quality, I actually prefer diztronic, just bought a pink glitter case for my htc one They have a coupon code of "xda" to use on their website and give a "returning customer discount" as well in emails they send.
I don't think either of these companies over charge and both have phenomenal customer service.

But I'm not sure you can use that along with their "b2g1" code. I believe it's only one code at a time, I remember trying one time and it only selected either or. If you're buying one case then great, but we might as well spend an extra $12 to get 3 cases

Was anyone else able to purchase a Nexus 5 bumper case? When I ordered my phone from the play store all of the cases EXCEPT the gray bumper said "coming soon". I assumed it was a glitch on googles website so I purchased the gray bumper to see what would happen (expected a "sorry this is backordered email").
But! Sure enough I just received my shipping confirmation email for both the phone and bumper case. Am I the only one? Just curious if this happened for anyone else?
How are you able to purchase the bumper when it says coming soon? How did you add to cart?

I find it odd that they're calling it a "bumper" case - I went to check it out because I hadn't already and it's a full body minus the display cover, when the concept of a "bumper" case means it's just "a big rubber band" of sorts that covers the edges of the phone.
I see it, I find it interesting in a way I suppose, but for $35 I'd spend my money on one of those Spigen Slim Armor cases myself - their Neo Hybrid one is pretty nice as well and still cheaper than the bumper from Google.
It's amazing just how much money these companies are making from these cases nowadays... few cents worth of raw materials, some CAD work to design 'em, few bucks for fabrication and packaging costs, wham bam profits man!
Also: that "red" one ain't red, that's orange... weird.

When I first went to the page. The gray one said "in stock - ships in 1/2 days". I assumed it was a hiccup since the other colors said "coming soon". But I purchased it anyways... And I just received my shipping info for both the case and phone... Weirrrrd. I feel like I'm the only one? Hah

The bumper case is actually a hybrid case with a hard shell on the outside. I think they call it a "bumper" because the back is plastic and the edges are rubber inside... Either way I'm hoping its quality. I guess we'll see when it arrives Tuesday with the phone.

So basically it's a copycat of something from Diztronic like this:
http://tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=46_99&products_id=368
$35 for the Google bumper or... $10 (or less on Amazon) for the Diztronic, I wonder, I wonder. I could understand and deal with $19.99 for the Google one, but $35? Man, they must be learning from Apple nowadays or something.
I ordered one of these a few days ago, should be here on Tuesday:
http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Google-Unicorn-Premium-Protective/dp/B00FN13EJK
Had one for my Galaxy S4 Active and loved it, it's such an awesome case, perfect tight fit, not loose anywhere at all. And it's a hard plastic shell (the yellow portion) merged with the TPU material (dark grey).

That appears to be a plain old TPU case... I have a diztronic tpu case for my N4. Googles bumper is hard plastic and rubber. A bit different. Doesn't justify the price... You definitely pay for the brand "Google". But hey... I'm a fanboy. I was just curious who was able to purchase one.

I was also able to order one as well. Shipped out at the same time as my Nexus 5.
I managed to order at 11:06pst, but then saw the bumper was available. So I ordered again at 11:13am with the bumper to save on shipping.
I also got the gray case, it shipped at the same time as the phone but with a separate tracking number. I know it's expensive but the LG bumper for the Nexus 4 was so sweet and kept my N4 in perfect condition through much abuse. So if this one is as good, it's worth it in my opinion

Same tracking number for me.
If I'm ordering an accessory without any reviews it will be a first party accessory.
Both should be here Tuesday or Wednesday. My new micro sim from StraightTalk won't be here until Tuesday so I'm not in a huge rush.
I tried and it was greyed out darn it. I'll buy one from someone if they don't like it

Looking foward to some more reviews. AC has the first one up:
http://www.androidcentral.com/nexus-5-bumper-case
hmm from looking at the AC images... kind of wish I'd waited for the black one, instead of getting the gray one. oh well, looks pretty sturdy and protective
I don't know why they aren't released yet. However, I will get the black one when I can. Yes it is a lot but I'm also a Google fanboy lmao
I wish they made a true bumper like they did for the nexus 4. It was such a great fit and made with quality, that will be hard to find in 3rd party cases.
My N5 and gray bumper showed up today. The bumper is great! the back is hard plastic and the sides are soft rubber... hence the name "bumper" im assuming.

mine came today also. though the case has grown on me, it does add some bulk. the back does not taper to the curves of the nexus. has a very slight trapeziodial-like shape. it seems that google was going for a simple block look. seems that it will protect from falls. buttons don't have the feedback that i look for though they're easy to press.
edit: the case is a snug fit and does had some grip that's missing from the panda nex.
can recommend this case.

I'm really loving the case as well. May seem over priced... however it fits really well and the materials feel top quality. headphone hole is a good size, adds a lot of grip. and its nice looking! The gray color almost comes off white... which is actually a pleasant surprise for me.
Heres some pics of the N5 in the Bumper for anyone interested. (not the greatest quality... taken with my Nexus 4)
