there may be some third part apps that don't let your screen turn off
make sure that Proximity Sensor and Ambient Light sensor are not blocked in any way (dust/dirt)
do a factory reset / fresh install of the rom

ahead do what you want!!!

Can't remember the thread but there is a thread on fixing the sensor if you search for it. It's a dialler code I think. Try installing android sensor bar as well to check the sensor.

Disable TalkBack.
Are you saying that it tells you (via voice) or shows the key letter popup on the screen?

ok heres a goofy problem, just for the heck of it, talkback was disabled already still did it, so I disabled light flow and it stop doing it, once I enable light flow it starts doing again, I have had plenty of android phones, S4,S3 and other high end phones and always enabled light flow have never had this problem

yeah, i just tried that, once it rebooted, i disabled talk back and still does the same thing, could it be setting in lightflow?
It might be a setting in LightFlow but have you tried to clear data in the app?. Settings > General > Apps > Light Flow and clear data..
well I uninstalled light flow, problem went away, as soon I install light flow and enable it, the problem comes back
maybe I need to root and see if root mode of lightflow works better, I have always rooted every phone I have had but I havn`t yet with the G pro
I had the same problem with the note 2 and a lot of users with the note 2 and s3 have this problem. It's not specific to the lg optimus g pro but it is something that can happen when other apps like light flow need accessibility.
I worked around it by disabling Google tts in applications and one of the Samsung voice apps (can't remember which now)
Anyway by just doing a quick Google I picked this website http://howik.com/Disable_Talk_Back_Mode_in_Samsung_Galaxy_S3 which gives clearer instructions. Don't dismiss it just by reading the first paragraph and thinking "done that" keep reading and it tells you which apps to disable
Hope it helps

Turn off knock on?

Hi guys, does anyone know how to turn off knock on on the G3? Tried looking for it in gestures settings like in the G2 but can't seem to find it. The g3 keeps waking while in my pocket making it feels constantly warm. Anyone else experiencing this? I don't mind just using the button at the back to wake it. The placement for the button is quite comfortable actually.
I'm sorry to hear this is a problem on the g3, I have this problem on the double tap to wake code on my Nexus 5 and so I just turned it off. I know for the galaxy 2, sorry g2, voice dictation, they released firmware fix for this I think

Can you tell me how you did the wake code on the nexus 5?
And to the op, isn't there a setting in the screen gestures section of the phone to turn it off?
You can turn it off in the hidden system settings menu
Dial 3845#*855# to access it.

It is the very last setting in the list, just scroll all the way down to the bottom.
If you have the Korean model replace the 855 with 400
I turned this feature off as it will save battery life too as it needs to keep the screen driver awake happy using the back button.

855 opens my hidden menu. But I still can figure out which option to choose after scrolling down to the bottom. The screen shot shows my menu. Could u let me know which option should I be disabling?

we don't have that functionality by default, it's patched into custom kernels and eats 2-3% battery per hour (another reason I turn it off)
Just so you know, I had issues with Knock On unlocking my phone in my pocket so I turned it upside down and the issue is 100% gone !
I think it's due to the light sensor not being 100% in the dark then the taps on the lap unlocked the phone. When it's upside down the light sensor is kept in the dark
I just can't find that setting... Ive looked everywhere. My phone is rooted with towelroot. Is that the problem?

Is it really the light sensor? I think the proximity sensor would make more sense in this case! Otherwise you wouldn't be able to use the knock on feature in the darkness...
Screen wakes in my pocket whichever way up I put it in and I don't want to have the screen face outwards. This is very annoying and didn't happen on my G2 - The screen is clearly very sensitive. I don't want to turn off knock on and I don't really like knock code.

Same here. Upside up or Upside down makes no difference for me. Display from body away seems to be the only real solution...
Looks like a few of u are experiencing the same problem. I have been facing the screen away from me as a solution but it feels so awkward when I m so used to have the screen face in. And I can't find the hidden settings to turn knock on off. They really hid very well I guess.

any option to shutdown screen will charging?

i sow it can damage the screen ..

You can also go into settings > about and tap on the Build Number about 7 times and activate Developer mode which will add Developer to settings. In Developer, you can disable "Stay Awake When Charging." Don't forget to reboot your watch after changing that setting.

Yep, the method that @neilrl79 works. I actually made a video tutorial using that same method in case you need some additional help, here you go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2IWDoiBasU
Edit: Actually, the method on the google plus page is almost correct. The only difference that I suggest, and that I mentioned in my video is to check always on/ambient setting before putting it on the charger.

No, that does not work. Please check to see if something works before posting it. Sorry, if I sound a little bitter I'm just tired of people constantly posting this solution that they clearly didn't try because it doesn't do anything.
