If it is on AT&T you need to find a custom... If you have a Canadian or Mexican SGH-I747M then you can flash via Odin.
What exactly is your definition of bricked? What is the phone doing what is the phone not doing, please be specific on what you did to "brick" your phone.
Once you verify which model phone you have and a description of what it is doing and how it got that way we might be able to point you in the right direction.

EZ- unlock is for the T999 it is what bricked your phone. Our bootloader is unlocked up to the 4.3 MJB bootloader. As long as your phone has never been on the MJB bootloaders go to www.sammobile.com and go to the firmware tab in the search box enter "i747" Then find the rom you want download it, insert your debrick card get into odin/download mode and flash your heart out.
Use the stickies guide for rooting your phone cf autoroot works well before 4.3, do not flash anything if you're unsure if it is for your phone, ask if it supports your model. Not all galaxy s3's are created equal.

Hey Chris. I have the same phone. And just in case you have issues with flashing any roms I made this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552952
It differently helped and now I'm able to flash. Long story short that UCUEMJB bootloader is new and some roms even though are for 4.3 may not flash because the Dev hasn't updated the bootloaders. You may come across some people telling you to update your bootloader which you have to careful. I made the mistake of flashing the loader and it hard bricked my phone and that linked helped me and theramsey3 was very helpful to get me back and running. It can be confusing about what loader to update. My advice if you flash any rom either post or as the Dev if they updated to the UCUEMJB bootloader. But just in case If you mess up and hard brick your phone that link will save your phone.

Can someone direct me to a tutorial on how to root my Galaxy S3 AT&T (SGH-I747) running Android 4.3. All I want is to root it and have SU so that I can remove bloatware and use wifi teather.
I'm very worried about rooting and having my bootloader or Knox do something and brick my phone. (this will be my first time rooting) I just want to make sure I do everything right the first time.
flash it with CFAutoroot on Odin.. make sure you check your model and the file you are downloading.. if SuperSU crash after rooting update it via playstore and it will ask you to disable the knox then tap yes to disable...
when im on odin an doing the update for SuperUS do I put the update under Phone or PDA?

Quick Question about 4.3 AT&T In Download Mode (Bricked)

I have a Galaxy S3 AT&T i747 Variant, and it is hard bricked, can't even turn on.
if I am able to get my phone Unbricked and into download mode, what will I do from there?
I have the 4.3 Bootloader I believe.
I know there isn't any odin fw for this right now, but my question is can I use T-Mobiles 4.3 Odin file?
At least to re-root, and install CWM, and reinstall my bootloader & Correct rom?
Or will this just not work at all....?
Thanks, sorry for the annoying questions lol.
If you can get into download mode, you could try and install a custom recovery to install a custom ROM.
I don't recommend flashing a T-Mobile ROM because the hardware isn't the same.

If you use the T-Mobile Odin files you will absolutely need a jtag. You cannot flash bootloader for a different variant it equals jtag.

Hey, check out this post, its for T-MOBILE but if you get the requirements for the I747 and not the T999, this should work. Only way to do it without a Jtag, and that may not even work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439367
Ive never done this or anything. I was just wondering because TMO has 4.3 odin files but nooooooo not AT&T
Thanks for all the replies, Ive tried every last debrick image at least 8 times, Im sending it off Thursday for a JTAG

[Q] Network unlock request unsuccessful (SGH-I747M - Running SlimKat 4.4.4)

Just purchased an unlock code from Telus but it does not work. I know some posts mentioned it only works with a stock dialer app.
Is there anything else I can try before attempting that?
If not, what stock rom can I even use? And is there a guide available?
Sorry if this has been asked before. I had trouble finding any answers.
Thank you.
Just flash your stock firmware with Odin.
The boot loader on your phone will determine which firmware to load on your phone.
If you have the 4.3 bootloader, don't flash 4.1.1 or 4.1.2.
Flashed stock rom, booted with sim inserted, and entered the unlock code when asked. It worked! Thanks for the reassurance, I was hesitant.
Here are some links I came across that might help others.
Downloaded latest ROM for my carrier: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SGH-I747m
Got Odin from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722686
Followed these threads to flash with Odin:

Read the CyanogenMod guide to install SlimKat: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_d2att
SlimKat XDA thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2758209
Root: http://slimroms.net/index.php/faq/slimbean/441-how-do-i-enable-root
Downloaded Texdroider DPI from the play store to change to S3 default (320)
Then I thanked everyone I could! :victory:
Notes
* I forgot to wipe my device before and it still worked.
* TWRP would not read my SD card for some reason.
* Good info threads:

Glad to hear you got it to work! Couple things for extra knowledge. ..
You can also get firmware from http://sammobile.com/firmwares. Their downloads are much faster than samsung-updates IME.
Easiest root method ever! - Towelroot (shouldn't trip the warranty bit either)
If I'm not mistaken, the recoveries having problems reading the sd card is due to your hardware version. I believe they found a solution in the Sprint forums, but I haven't had a chance to read up on it yet. If its something I can do I'll probably try to fix the T-Mobile and AT&T recoveries. I may be mistaken on some of that, but its how I understood it after a quick search the other day.
Need help for flashing stock rom
Hi,
Can you please clarify few things for me?
I have an ATT Galaxy S3 (SGH-i747).
I am running CM11 Android 4.4.4 Baseband I747UCDMG2.
I need to go back to stock to SIM unlock the phone.
Latest ATT stock rom is 4.1.1 with I747UCDLK3.
Will flashing to stock ATT ROM brick the phone?
What is the best way to go back to stock ROM?
Thanks,

Thanks for quick reply.
Bootloader on mine is I747UCDMG2 which is from 4.1.2. Hence I should be ok to go to stock 4.1.1 ROM.
I am reading few other posts before making the move.
Flashing the USA version of the s3 (i747) with any i747 firmware from sammobile in Odin can brick your phone us you have a 4.3 bootloader or higher.
Since you are on 4.1.2 bootloader, flash the stock ATT 4.1.1 ROM from sammobile.com using Odin. After flashing, do a full wipe in recovery. Boot the phone and use the free method to permanently sim unlock your phone.
After unlocking your phone, you can run OTA updates to get to the latest stock ROM, bootloader, and modem.
Just confirmed bootloader and baseband are I747UCDMG2.
I will update here how everthing goes.
PS: I DON'T want to go to I747UCUEMJB bootloader after unlock. That will mean, I will not be able to downgrade in future. AFAIK, I747UCUEMJB bootloader is also locked.

correct in that you will not be able to downgrade (serious risk of bricking your device).
bootloader is not locked on the S3 AFAIK. (bricked my s3 on mj2 trying to 'unlock' an already unlocked bootloader.).

I agree that the bootloader is unlocked.
I think at times people are calling the newer bootloaders locked because they are unable to downgrade them. Whereas we are calling them unlocked because we can still root them and flash custom/unsigned ROMs.
ATT has been locking the bootloader on other phones such as the Note 3, HTC One XL, and the Moto G so I'm not surprised that owners think their bootloader is locked.

Thanks all for the assurance and support.
I was able to ODIN to stock ROM and SIM unlock the phone.
Background: My ATT S3 i747 was running CM11 Android 4.4.4. Baseband and Bootloader was I747UCDMG2.
Steps:
1. Flashed rooted stock ROM (root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3.7z) using odin from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
Followed the steps in OP.
After flash ODIN showed PASS and phone rebooted. It was stuck in Samsung logo. I booted into recovery. Performed a wipe cache and factory restore.
Phone rebooted successfully after that.
2. Inserted non-ATT SIM and it asked for the unlock code. I had obtained the code from ATT before. Used the code and phone was unlocked.
The same code did not work while I was running CM11.
NOTE: When running stock ROM you can follow steps in below threads if direct unlock did not work for you.
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58671214&postcount=152
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38767845#post38767845 This works only with stock 4.1.1 image (LK3 modem).
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59029460&postcount=323
NOTE: If you need TWRP recovery, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 and search for "Odin Flashable TWRP Recovery" in OP.
You can download ODIN flashable TWRP from there.

ready to breath new life on my s3-sgh i747m

SGH-I747M rooted, but still original rom
Carrier - Rogers
Ready to ditch my original Samsung/Rogers rom and flash a new one
Can someone please refer me to their choices
Hopefully no cellular/modem problem and no camera and sd card problems
Thanks in advance, any other tips will be appreciated
Research a bit,
first unlock for free from Rogers if you're still on 4.1.1. After you've moved up it costs.
Then update bootloader, I'm no expert, research.
I would highly recommend. Matrixzones L with a twist. It's for our phone specifically.
Works awesomely for me.
Sips at the battery. Every thing works fine for me, and I've tried a few
The safest way to move to a new ROM is to confirm the bootloader and modem currently installed on your phone. Once you know that, you can then determine if you can unlock your phone using the free method and which ROMs will work with the bootloader that is currently on your phone.
Okay, getting closer and confident
Device type - d2can
Bootloader/Baseband/PDA- I747MVLDLK4
Modem board- MSM8960
Will use EZ-Ulock to unlock the bootloader
Phone was rooted long tome ago
CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4
After a few more search, ill go with the suggestion of using matrixzone
Not sure if I still need to update my bootloader
Thanks for any more tips
well my confident just drop down
i have 4.1.1firmware so i installed the ez-unlock app to unlock my bootloader
i thought everything went well - "that was easy", but now it wont turn on
hopefully someone here can help
Have you tried the holding down volume up, home and power buttons at same time to get into recovery, then restore back up?
---------- Post added at 12:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:17 PM ----------
I'm no expert but I understand you have to have original Samsung firmware running on phone then rogers has to do it for free, chime in anyone who knows more. I'm at knowledge threshold.
The bootloader on the i747m and i747 was never locked and using the bootloader unlock app bricked your phone. You will need to unbrick the phone using the method described in the unbrick thread or have the phone repaired via jtag service.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549068
With the i747m or i747, you could have flashed a custom recovery and then a custom ROM.

What error did you get in Odin? Sounds like you tried to flash an older ROM over your existing ROM. Try downloading and flashing the latest ROM from sammobile.com.
what is latest rom i can download and install - my rom was 4.1.1 before i messed up badly
well i just tried the next up - 4.1.2 Rogers Image and still Fail! (auth)
I will now try to latest from SamMobile - 4.4.2 and hopefully this work
well sucess - download the latest sammobile 4.4.2 and used Odin to install.
after 30mins my phones back to normal
thanks for all the help - now i'm more confident
now i will try to root / install cwm / and continue with matrixzone w/ a twist - hope to have a better result
No need to root first. You can install custom recovery and flash a rom.
can someone please provide insight on how to root my phone
i'm seeing a instruction to use Odin and CF-Auto-Root.tar
is this safe - since now im on 4.4.2
thanks again
Try installing a custom recovery and flash SuperSU from recovery.

Can't install 4.1.1 o 4.1.2 on my Note via Odin

I moved to another country to find out that my Note 2 is carrier locked.
I googled how to unlock it and found that option of accessing ServiceMode with *#197328649# but since my Note was already OTAd to 4.4.2, this wasn't working.
I decided to try and flash 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 to it with Odin but every single time I tried, Odin gave me a Fail, stating that Nand write start - fail.
I flashed a CM11 on it to see if it can do anything (with CWM) but something went wrong and I couldn't get pass the "Galaxy Note II" screen, so I flashed 4.4.2 with Odin and it worked.
So I can flash 4.4.2. but not 4.1.1 or 4.1.2.
I'd hugely appreciate any help! Thank you

You can't flash firmware via odin which has older bootloader than yours must have the same version bootloader or newer. Samsung rules, sorry. Look if you find any custom 4.1.1 rom to flash via cwm and unlock it but be careful because 4.1.1 has sds bug and is possible to brick your device. Another way is to try to flash it via mobile odin which don't flash bootloader flashes all the rest but is dangerous for sds too. Maybe you can find at Internet any cheap unlock code also.

Bootloader sorry but is not possible to downgrade, about 4.1.1 rom I haven't any link, take a look at old posts at forum if you find any. You can also try mobile odin the free version from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899 you need to have root access to your phone and to download the correct addon (kernel for mobile odin) from the end of the page. You can flash with it the original 4.1.1 firmware which you have already. It flashes only the firmware without bootloader. If you haven't use it before read carefully the instructions and use it. It is absolutely safe, the only which is not safe is the firmware you trying to flash because of sds (sudden death symptom).
