Please look for one in the Play Store and post in the correct section. This thread does not belong in Development. It belongs in General.

this is app for overclock cpu, but you must have custom kernel...
long and complicated story for you... is not for the beginners
And i'm afraid to try it myself .. Maby it break the phone .. As u can see the home screen of it !!
Sent from my LT15i using xda app-developers app
Is it Q n A section?????
you can try it, you will not damage the phone...
now you can only select max freq 1024MHz... for real overclock you need custom kernel and then you can choose a higher frequency

You have to root your phone to use no frills. Look in General Discussions section to see how to root your phone or Google it

Its a potential battery saver if u use it to UC your CPU and can be a great battery drainer if u choose to OC your CPU.. For me, its useful..
I use to UC my ArcS to 768max..so it can last 2days or more without charging..

"No-frills cpu" what is that app ?? >> Overclocking Tools (ain't that obvious )
Is it useful ?? >> Depends... do u still need more cpu clock (which consume more battery, etc) , or satisfied with current clock.
So how to use it ?? >> Just change the clock, it just that simple. (but of course, u need, kernel that support it).
*Before u do overclocking, google it about "governors' and 'IO' first....
This thread needs to go to questions.

it`s absolutely vital to the phone, is one of the main cores of the android system.. i cant recall exactly what is doing tho, but i remember that you cant disable, or anything like that.. from what i have read other ppls using different roms seem to have the same problem with netd eating up the cpu, and some of them said that it was somewhat related to some specific governors...so try to switch from whatever governor you are now to a different one and see if it helps
the thing is, that the lib isnt needed for gio/ace/mini/fit ...
Maybe the try to load it makes more ram consumption, but it can be easy disabled in source

How to disable it ? Because my gio was very smooth, and suddenly laggy after its appear with high cpu usage.
And what is the bad effect if we disable it ?

It has something to do with the wifi interface. I had netd-hangs everytime I had wifi & 3G on while no known wifi network was around me. Since I'm disabling wifi when I leave home, I didn't had any hangs anymore. Changing governor doesn't help, tested by myself.

Updated my baseband from XXKT7 to XXTKA to see if this would improve this odd behavior
So I noticed this switch in the submenu of Settings -> Battery
Quad Core Control
It says turning this on can help to extend the battery life, but what does it do exactly?
Also, when I did the tests on Antutu, there were no significant difference between having it on or off.
Anyone knows? Thanks in advance

Quad core control is a built in governor controller that LG decided to let us have. When turned on it pretty much changes the Governor to either "Powersave" or "Interactive." When it's off the Governor is either "Ondemand" or "Performance."
Right. And I am not 100% sure but I thought it also controls on how many cores it uses.

So it is not like the CPU control found on S3/S4/Note2 which undervolts the cpu and save energy that way?
Hmm. Is there a way to undervolt the cpu without rooting?

Major battery draining is done by sensors like AUTO BRIGHTNESS and other just switch it off coz it consumes lots of battery and kill the apps..
If rooted remove all bloatwares to save up ur battery..
