Basically this is what happened, I rooted my phone using TeamEpic-Root-from-Recovery-v5.zip and CWM-Recovery-LTE-SGS3-v5.tar.zip with Odin without any problems. Then I tried tampering with the framework-res.apk and I thought I did it correctly, I replaced it with the current res in the /system/framework folder of the internal sd. Then I rebooted my phone and bam stuck at the Samsung Galaxy S III screen. I've now tried finding a way to get into the internal sd card to replace the framework-res.apk back to original but my computer wont recognize it when in recovery or downloading mode. I have trying reflashing Clockworkmod several times and I've tried wiping the cache and factory reset. When I factory reset it says error mounting sd card, aborting. I am now out of ideas as to how to fix it and I'm not sure what to do with PIT files, which could be a possible solution. I am running Tmobile's Galaxy S3 T-999 16gb. All that being said, anyone who can help me get my phone back up and running I will reward you with $10 through paypal, because that's how desperate I am to fix my phone before someone finds out I bricked it!
Re: $10 Reward to whoever can help me get my phone working again! (SOFT BRICK)
Something similar happened to me. What I did was use a different lower version of Odin and reinstalled the drivers, and everything worked fine. It may not work for you but it's just a, thought, and try reflashing with the T-Mobile Stock ICS rom.

Thanks for the reply, what do you mean by reinstall drivers, like kies? I can't flash any rom's because I can't transfer the zip files over to the sd card since my phone won't recognize it since it won't go past the samsung screen. All I can do is flash clockwork mod from odin like .md5 and .tar. If I install a lower version of Odin what version did you use, and do you think flashing clockwork mod will be able to replace the framework-res.apk through odin?

Reinstall the drivers for Odin, and you can even try reinstalling Kies too. Make sure you restart your pc after you reinstall kies and the drivers.

Are the files you flashed for a I9300? They do not look familiar to me.

Uninstall Kies (and the drivers if the Kies uninstall doesn't do it).
You may want to Odin a stock rom. If you do, it it before flashing a recovery.

Thank you for the files, I'm now able to flash roms from my sd. I"ve flashed your clockwork and superuser. However, when I load up the phone I'm still getting stuck at the samsung logo
no external sdcard?
Did you try to flash another rom? What were you using, and what did you flash?
Why are you trying to fix a bricked ROM with CWM?
Just Odin a stock rom, and work from there. I don't know why you would keep trying to reflash recovery, that isn't going to do squat for you.
Go to the section/post in the general section on ODIN and pick a STANDARD ODIN image...Odin isn't that hard to manage.
Or use the S3 toolbox posting in the general section.
Most likely, this is because the rom has something funny in the cache...WIPE it to factory if you can get into a recovery...

Now that I updated my clockwork mod I'm able to flash from my sd card. Trouble for me is finding the right ROM that is compatible and appealing. I've tried a few now and whenever I flash them I go to boot up the phone and I get stopped on the samsung galaxy s iii logo. There has to be a way to wipe everything and flash a fresh clean rom. I've stayed up till 2 in the morning only to get up at 6 in the morning two nights in a row now totaling almost 10 hours of trying to fix my phone

From this quote it seems that you are flashing TWRP recovery and the flashing CWR right after it. That makes no sense. I don't use CWR on this phone but have used it before. So I'm not sure that LTE should be in the description as T999 isn't an LTE device. I could be wrong though. You can get an Odin-able version of either TWRP or CWR from this page.
Go here and download the stock image TMO T999UVDLJA. Follow the directions in the OP (make sure you unzip it first. Read and then read it again) . Fire up Odin and put the Root66 tar in the PDA slot (nothing in PIT). Flash the Root66. It will take about 5 minutes or so. Once it says Pass it should reboot. It WILL bootloop. If you have already flashed EITHER TWRP or CWR, then boot into recovery and Factory Reset. If you haven't flashed EITHER TWRP or CWR, then pull your battery and boot back into Download Mode. From there you put EITHER TWRP or CWR into the PDA slot and flash it. Pass. The reboot into recovery and Factory Reset.
First boot will take the longest bc it has to rebuild the /cache and /dalvik-cache. Let's get you up and running before you move on to flashing a custom ROM, OK?
I've searched both xda and Google and haven't been able to find anything.
Yesterday, I formatted everything possible via CWM6.0.2.3 (/storage, /data, etc.) and (of course) ended up having to reinstall the stock rom as I've effectively soft-bricked my phone.
After getting everything up and running again, I installed ROM Manager and it said that I still had TWRP still installed. What's more, the stock rom had the wallpaper and lock screen message I'd set up before formatting everything.
I later hooked my phone up to my pc and deleted everything from both internal storage and my sd card, though Windows showed that there was still some data left on the phone. I again did a fresh install of the stock rom and the previous background, message, and TWRP are still there.
I know I'm being a bit nitpicky, but where is this data hidden and how can I delete it?

Only select Auto-Reboot. There should be a one-click that will prevent disaster. It is right here. Be aware of the 16 vs 32 GB option.

I've tried having Auto-Reboot and F-Time Reset checked and I still have residual files.
After trying the one click method you linked, absolutely nothing changed except I was no longer rooted. Still had same apps, lock screen, wallpaper, etc.
And you've done a factory wipe? What apps are remaining? I guess I should get more specific.

Yes, I've done a factory wipe. All of my apps remain; I still have Chrome, ROM Manager, Nova Launcher, etc.
If I delete everything, everything goes to stock except behind the scene things like TWRP still being installed (according to ROM Manager).

I'm relatively certain I followed the directions properly, and it works as far as getting back to stock. Though in the video he mentions that data wouldn't be wiped and that's what I was aiming for: wiping absolutely everything so that the phone is as when I first got it. No custom recoveries, no saved lockscreen message, nothing.
You may have to manually delete them then.

I have a " RESET_LJ7.zip" that will delete everything including recovery and reset flash counter, but it's a huge file, I'm not home, and I haven't uploaded it anywhere. Where are custom recoveries stored? And is there some way for me to access it? I would think right clicking "Phone" from Explorer and hitting "Format" would delete everything, but apparently it doesn't.

No I'm not sure where the recovery is restored, I didn't make the zip I just have a copy of it because I needed it when I returned 2 phones to Sprint Like I said search that name for the zip, and if you still don't find it I'll upload it when home, that could be VERY late though

Here's stock LJ7. I assume you know how to use Odin so here's the file as posted by Skunk Ape1. All credit goes to him.

Oh and also, the files you delete while "formatting" the phone on the computer are only the extra app data (like back-ups and such) and other extra files. Things like recovery are in hidden system files that I believe can only be deleted through a specific clear (like system/data clear in TWRP) or by flashing a complete stock tar through Odin. Well you can also manually delete them but that takes a while.

That is correct, the recovery is stored on a separate partition from the OS, so you cant clear that just by formatting system and such. Its also best to simply replace it and not clear it, because if you clear it you are completely removing everything from the recovery partition and that may or may not cause issues
@OP, One way you can remove your custom recovery (and replace it with the stock recovery) is by flashing a full stock tar. In the general section there is a thread titled "MA6 OTA!!!", read through there because some people posted links to how to get the stock recovery back on without having to ODIN a full stock tar (they needed to flash the LJ7 to MA6 OTA through the stock recovery)

Ah, thank you so much. The main thing that was bugging me was that I couldn't seem to get rid of CWM and TWRP, but now I know they're hidden.
But I've flashed CWM, TWRP, then went back to CWM and whenever I open Recovery Setup in Rom Manager, it says that both CWM and TWRP are already installed, which is what's bugging me. Rom Manager works just fine and all, but I'm just really curious about why/how I can have two recoveries installed at the same time (I thought flashing one would delete the other).

This is why I hate the dependence that people have built on touch recoveries and recovery controlling apps. It makes people forget that the recovery works like a computer bios. It's not hidden. It's just on its own partition. When you fire it up, it's essentially booting a separate partition so that you can control everything on the main partition and nothing from your rom or kernel are in use at the time.
How could I in Odin insert a PIT file to remap my filesystem.
Is there one for the TMO S4 or could I simply use one from the gt9505?

You don't.
Remapping the file system is not a current mod and is not recommended to try. One of the 95xx variants had a remapped PIT file done to add a little bit of usable space. (You can't use that one. It will break your 919 device) The risk was high and the benefit was low. It's just so cheap and easy to buy a 32 or 64 GB external SD card that accomplishes the same thing.
I guess basically what I'm trying to achieve is for my phone to be able to install custom roms again. Randomly one day I was unable to install any, for it would just install a few apks from each CustomRom installation zip.
I've tried reinstalling stock and it doesn't fix my issue that most likely lies in the file system of my phone.

That is weird. Did you try to reflash back to stock using Odin? Or by flashing a nandroid of a stock ROM?
If using Odin to flash a stock image doesn't work I'm not sure a pit file would help. The stock .tar image for Odin contains the proper PIT file. So it's getting the PIT file anyway.
I'll try again..
I've tried coming back from Odin many times but I've noticed Odin is pretty sketchy because honestly most of the time oI get FAIL status near the end of stock installation but I keep going until it passes and I've tried going back from NAND. I was going to see this phone because no one on XDA nor me could figure out this tricky issue. Someone pm'd me claiming he has the same issue and I told him I haven't solved it yet. I think tomorrow I'm going to maybe try stock install and then wipe data factory reset after and then boot and then go back to download mode and install recovery and try install wicked or maybe gpe. I woke up the other day with my phone stuck at the Galaxy Note II bootup screen.
Great!
So I've been trying for days to solve this issue that's driving me insane.
I'm running TWRP 2.8.0.0
It starts and can't mount any of the partitions. Attempting to mount internal storage or SD card is impossible, it says it has 0 bytes.
Obviously something corrupted something. But now I can't get anything working.
I can't format from withing TWRP, it fails.
Tried using KIES emergency firmware update, but its supposed to show a list of devices that need emergency update, it never shows up.
I was able to flash a stock rom with Odin. Except for that it doesn't repartition the device's internal storage and it never is able to boot into the new ROM. If I check TWRP after installing with Odin, it shows that all the devices are still unmountable.
So I flashed the new TWRP 2.8.6.0 with Odin. Except when I boot back into Odin it shows 2.8.0.0 still.
Anyone have any ideas? I've been phoneless for a week now!

On your advice I just flashed i317.pit with Stock ROM. Succeeded in flashing in ODIN as well as looking like it rewrote the partitions. However, upon reboot to TWRP, all partitions are still unmountable. Tried flashing pit along with TWRP 2.8.6.0. It remained on 2.8.0.0 when I rebooted into TWRP. Again experienced the same issue and could not mount any partitions. Tried flashing PIT alone and then booting into TWRP. Same.
I've attached a picture too. This inability to mount also prevents me from formatting, factory resetting, loading from external microsd, so on and so forth...

Man I really thought the pit would work! Just 2 days ago I had the unable to mount data error and flashing stock with the pit file worked for me
A few questions-
1. I wonder if that old old old issue of eMMc brick bug is present in your device. The symptoms are very similar from what I remember of it but I do highly doubt that's what's happening.
2. Do you have more info about your device prior to this breakdown? Ie what rom + kernel were you on? were there any hints of anything failing? did you flash anything and if so what was it?
I'm hoping the information might help point us in the right direction. I'll look into something a well, but I'm also hoping that someone else with more experience with this problem will come help. @sawdoctor didn't this happen to your note 2 once also? When mine refused to mount data the other day it wasn't quite as bad as this, so it was an easy fix. Hopefully we can get you sorted.

I had a similar issue when porting a s3lte 4.4.4 base to the n2 I couldn't mount data even odin didn't fix it but I was able to format internal with recovery. A full wipe of everything fixed it. There's a stock tar thread in general forum with md5 to verify against the downloaded zip. If you have a download that you can verify md5 for then use it verified good.
Once you verify the md5, extract the tar.md5 by opening the archive and dragging tar.md5 to Odin folder. Flash that in latest Odin with Odin defaults.
You should backup keepsakes, wipe everything but extSdCard, factory reset and format data partition and then power down your phone and pull battery before Odin. Let it auto boot and go through the setup wizard. If you're not Sprint, I'm not sure what you do but maybe just a data zip flash in recovery and deleting the Sprint activation application is all that is required. Dunno because I'm on Sprint, myself.
If you're downgrading from Marshmallow, there's been recent reports of having to factory reset in stock recovery after flashing stock tar. For those reporting that, they reported phone not booting after tar flash. I've downgraded with success but factory reset and wipe internal memory and used bootloader and TWRP backup to restore. Wasn't a problem.
It's also been reported in Nexus forum that efs partition shouldn't be restored. I don't think this works for Note 4 either. Don't restore efs partition.

Which stock tar are you trying to update to? Did you verify the md5?
Does the flash complete without error?
Are you managing any connection to your carrier? Could be hardware failure or a corrupt partition. I've seen suggestions to use a tar with PIT included. For Android 5.1, that would be OG5 stock tar. For Android 6, PC1 has PIT. Have you tried either of those?

efs fail
i have this Problem same you and i have collect 4 N910P efs.img user please add my facebook name(cai fa Hork)
I haven't had this issue. I don't know if the thread below is relevant for Note 4 but if you don't have a backup try the easy fix first (CM):
Some in the thread have noted that flashing CM nightly resolved this issue for them.
