Welcome to the "Energy" ROM Port thread !
This ROM will unlock your LS980 for GSM networks.
Original Thread
This development thread is the home of my "EnergyROM" custom firmware series for the LG G2 for Tmobile. Here you will find ROMs that I have created for this device over time. My main goal when putting a ROM together is stability. A second goal would be a good, professional look.
I build my ROMs with four main goals.
Stability through private beta testing before public release
Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
Speed !!!
Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go.

Deep blue highlights and theming instead of green/holo blue/ and stock LG white!
ROM is mostly HTC themed
Removed brightness slider
WiFi Calling (doh.. it's a TMO ROM.. )
Deodexed, zipaligned, tweaked
Busybox + runparts
Stock kernel
init.d support
No carrier IQ apps in the ROM
Debloated
#xdabbeb's improved camera app (props for the work man!)
Advanced Power Menu
Themed Email application
Themed lockscreen
Themed Messaging app
Themed Notification area
Themed Lockscreen (a little bit)
Themed Settings
The whole device is "inverted" so the predominant color theme is black/deep blue instead of white/cyan (like LG's stock)
Updated hosts file for ad removal
Disabled volume change sounds
Disabled package signature checking (themers should love this)
EXT4 partitions remounted with 0 barriers for quicker file access
init.d scripts support!
Custom boot animation (sound removed)
Battery percentage icons and charging animations
GPS, download, upload smooth animations in status bar
Tweaked autobrightness values
Added A TON of new notifications/ringtones to choose from
Smoother wait animation cursors
Install non-market apps checked by default
Disable touch tones by default
Disable lockscreen sounds by default
Disable package signature check
Smoother scrolling mod (scrolling cache disabled)
Fast... Stable.. and GREAT battery life, because it's based on a STOCK ROM.
Goes to @NRGZ28. His ROM is brilliant and I desperately wanted it on my device.
I would prefer if you donated to the creators of this ROM but if you want to donate to me, I would request you send it via google wallet @ [email protected]. Paypal doesn't like me.
PS: If you like this ROM and would appreciate others for your pleasure, hit that thanks button. :fingers-crossed:

Is this for sprint or t-mobile?
I noticed above it says t-mobile. We would really like to make sure no one bricks or breaks their sprint device.

I think that he meant that this is a Sprint LG G2 port of a T-Mobile rom... :silly:
question
Hello. What about NFC? FM Radio?
What about APN edit or remove?
You may want to let those know which radio this is. Zv8 or zva.
I am pretty sure I know this is zv8, but others may ask or not.

Also would like to know whether it's zv8 or zva.

I would like to know as well; I remember about a week or so ago, a user who I believe is no longer here (banned from website) uploaded a ROM that was supposedly international ROM for LS980 (sprint versions) of the LG G2 and SOOOOOOO many people bricked their phone. Not saying this is the case by any means at all, but .........(if the shoe fits)

No he meant kinda what he said.. He has a sprint Lg G2 unlocked running T-Mobile and this ROM is for anyone running the same configuration. As in if you have a sprint lg g2 and are using T-Mobile

I don't have time to test this, but 99.999% sure this is a Sprint rom. The section talking about T-Mobile is a direct quote from the OP form the creator of the Energy ROM.
Rombreaker is porting some of the most popular rom's (this and Rayglobe Flex), from other carriers to Sprint. I'm not sure what he did (and really curious about Flex... maybe just the apn's), but that is the goal of these rom's.

Doubleshot
Virtuous Doubleshot is a port of the ROM from the MyTouch 4G Slide, which features a custom version of Sense 3.0. It is based on the final/official base (Doubleshot_TMOUS_1.28.531.9). The custom Sense variant featured in this ROM is called Espresso, which is quite different visually from standard Sense UI. Additionally, the MT4G Slide is a WVGA device, meaning no re-sizing was needed.
Screenshots
Features
Based on the official MyTouch 4G Slide shipping ROM (Doubleshot_TMOUS_1.28.531.9).
Native rotating Rosie (launcher) support.
Ported for full functionality on each supported device.
Heavily optimized for fluid performance and usability.
Overclocked kernels with numerous additional kernel modules.
Built-in screen state frequency scaling (1Ghz-245MHz/ondemand screen-on, 806Mhz-245Mz/conservative screen-off), via custom built Virtuous_OC C daemon.
Trackpad wake support (DesireZ/G2 and MT4G only).
WiFi calling (T-Mobile USA only).
Fully functional device hardware, including wifi, bluetooth, camera, camcorder, etc.
Market-sourced applications (Gmail, Maps, Voice, etc) automatically installed on first boot into /data/app for easy removal.
Bloatware and unnecessary applications removed.
Supported Devices
myTouch 4G
Desire Z / T-Mobile G2
Porting Information and Credits
Virtuous Doubleshot, or any components therein, may not be ported to other devices without explicit email approval from the development team. We
will be approving ports, presuming the develop of a given port is ready and willing to follow the same revision control and release processes
currently employed existing devices.
Important Notes
For Vision users, the DesireZ hboot is REQUIRED. Rmk has written a guide for G2 users who need to make this transition.
If you are experiencing random freezes and/or reboots, this is likely due to your device being incapable of handling our overclocking defaults. Download and apply this flashable patch, which will reduce the maximum CPU frequency to 1Ghz and likely eliminate this issue.
You must complete a full wipe prior to installing this ROM the first time. We also recommend wiping between upgrades, but you are welcome to try upgrading without a wipe. However, no support will be provided if you file a bug without having wiped prior to submission.
Disconnect your USB cable prior to the first boot, otherwise the Market apps do not install. This is because the default USB connection mode is "Disk Drive". We will resolve this issue in a future release.

Changelog pls.
Does the keyboard light up properly on the G2 with this rom? Downloading it now to try out.
One more thing. There are alot newer radios listed for the G2. Seems like this is a downgrade radio? Not questioning your work, as i cant do what has been done here. But im trying to learn and asking questions is learning.
Thanks
just did the HBOOT successfully.
This indeed looks very interesting..How does this compare to Virtuous Unity (Beta 2.33) speed and ram wise? Can anyone tell me before I wipe and flash? I kinda wish there was not so much pink...Themers? =D
DOUBLESHOT!
that's what she said!!!
all jokes aside, great to see an update to the doubleshot rom!
Well if we got rid of all the pink, the little bubbles around the icons, and added a market I think I've found a good rom to stay on =]

I don't think themes work across all the carriers. So this theme for the AT&T version might cause some issues for Sprint waiters.

Just as an fyi, if you don't know, all of the Sprint carrier information in the framework must stay in order for sprint users to use any of the sprint apps.

thanks for the info. mostly image tweaks to start off with in beta and then i'll get to tweaking colors in regards to xml edits, etc.
also, as it currently stands, there are only ROMs for T-Mob and AT&T for me to create a base. in other words, those will come first, then Sprint, then Verizon respectively.

I'm guessing that the drawable and layout folders will be exactly the same on all 4 version. The differences will most likely be in the strings.xml and probably some smali differences for carrier specific stuff.

i shouldn't have to touch any smali code right off. this is purely for ICS colors so mostly SystemUI, framework-res and Settings tweaks. just not a fan of the grays, greens, etc. this is 4.0, not 2.3 lol

Still trying to figure it out. I was able to mod my systemui and get status bar ICS icons but was having script issues and an unknown issue where I had no radio. Scary feeling (thnk you nandroid lol) when you have no Mobile data and the phone keeps asking for a sim card. But I did change out the power toggle and status bar icons to ics blue and they looked good.
Im try again later.

I can add support for LS990/VS985 but well, from my experience with G2, people will spam the thread with CDMA faulty (such as MMS issue, Roaming icon, Network mode option) and dont know that they're using an international base which support mostly for GSM devices. So maybe I will add support for them later or provide separated patch for those who want.

Im not sure how xda's repository works so i worry about downloading before you are able to check it and verify its good.

Now that my M9 is here and shipped off to *cough* have some work done by a nice gentleman, I'm wondering a few things ...
Until our devs from the M8 like andybones and Π€O start pumping out ROMs, what ROMs will work for us.
One I have seen is Insert-Coin stating for all variants.
I also see where some kernel guys changed to a hexacore by removing two of the faster cores to reduce heat/save battery supposedly without a perceptible performance hit.
Are these types of things what we can expect ?
What are your opinions?

I personally love a minimalist stock roms. That way everything works perfectly fine, no bugs, and its optimized with minor tweaks/theme options. There was a God by the name of Santod on the Verizon M7 forum that could do this. And I have heard he has the M9 =)
maybe @scrosler will show up with clean rom dont know if he is getting a M9
Another vote for ViperOne Rom
We should have a SkyDragon Vzw based ROM out for m9 in next few days. But to answer your question most sense Roms won't work with you doing a little work yourself
SkyDragon Vzw Dev HTC M9
echoing what else has been said, viperone works fine with verizon (been using it for a few weeks) m9. insertcoin supposedly supports it as well, but i cant speak from personal experience using it.
the m9 variants are all so close that its not hard with a few files from the stock rom of each device to do multivariant roms like those developers/teams are doing.
i think the international based roms are a better base than verizon stock roms anyway, but thats just my opinion
OK I installed ViperOne just to check it out. So far , so good.

For now I've settled in on Insert Coin and using the LeeDrOid custom kernel that includes the KCAL module for color calibration.

The icon is there, but it looks kinda like the data icon on the unofficial M8 roms.
It says it's activated but why I just tried it with my buddy it came up that I wasn't activated. I may not have given it enough time to provision.

i tried yesterday and i couldnt get it to activate for the life of me, i can fix the icon via vrtheme but the advanced calling is great, i need that. Is the leedroid kernel working for you, i was thinking of trying it out myself
Lee droid works fine and so does the other custom kernel in that sub-forum.
Name escaped me but it's 3 letters long. Like AOC beta or something similar.
Although I haven't activated my M9 (sending it out to @dottat for S-OFF, was planning on today but really sick so staying in bed, and will either ship tmw, or just wait til Monday so the phone doesn't sit somewhere on Sunday) but IIRC, you need to log into the MyVerizon - I'd use a PC, and activate the advanced Calling on your account.
Here is a cut and paste from the MyVerizon site:
How can I get Advanced Calling 1.0?
First, verify that you meet all of the eligibility requirements.
If you're eligible, follow these steps to get Advanced Calling 1.0:
Sign in to My Verizon.
Click Manage My Account and select Manage Products & Apps.
Click the Get Products tab at the top of the page.
Click Get it now to select the product or service you wish to purchase.
When the checkout window opens, choose the compatible devices you'd like HD Voice added to.
Click Confirm Purchase to complete the checkout process for the selected devices.
Click OK on the confirmation screen. If applicable, a free text message with a link to download the app from the App Store will be sent to the device/s you've selected.
Note: If you don't want to receive a text confirmation, uncheck the checkbox before clicking OK, and no text message will be sent.
You've successfully added Advanced Calling 1.0.

Quick heads up. No need to vrtheme it. The icon looks like that because Vzw uses their own settings.apk so you can just swap out settings.apk from none Vzw based Roms an your icon is fixed. Also ask the ROM Dev to add the Vzw settings.apk if the ROM supports Vzw.
Also I didn't have to go to my Vzw to turn on advanced calling. I activated thru my phone an phone only on all 3 of my m9's

i recommend you use BaNks Gapss. don't use CWM from recovery Philz_Touch or recovery default from CM. TWRP 2.8.7.0 is better

I use open gapps aroma mode. Once you setup the way you want things, it remember all your preference, and then you just keep upgrading your open gapps zip.

I have to test this one out. So far looks like the closest to the SlimRemix ROM i am running on my Note4. Dont see any of the other LP with SlimPIE. Looking forward to checking it all out! Would love to see it dual-booting, but my old DerTuefel's Devil Kernel wont work I'm sure. Anyone here dual boot on i317 with lollipop???

Well no. AT&T isn't solved yet, but thats not the device I have. Sorry for the confusion and this is a bit off topic but I have Canadian phones so i317m which is basically the same as AT&T i317 for the Note2..... But my note 4 is n910w8 which is closest to Tmobile's n910T (which is probably the way to go for an unlocked Note4 on AT&T.)

Thanks for clarifying. I was thinking the same thing, but I am leaning towards upgrading to note 4 that 2 is serving me well, and not in hurry to. Just going to wait if note5 comes with no replacement battery or external storage.

My dad was telling me something about that on his note 4. About how it would uninstall apps and wouldn't allow ad blockers, etc. Have you tried it for yourself? And if so, what does it actually do?

Wonder what it does exactly. I've seen this in a few changelogs on a number of ROMs. I mean, if it helps prevent pirated apks from being installed, some people wouldn't mind that if it'll protect them from potential problems/trojans/malware.
well based on what my dad was telling me, this software was implemented in aicp for the note 4. My dad has a few pirated apps, and when he installed them I guess the software automatically removed them. Now I'm not for piracy but something like that, that removes the choice from the user, that's kinda not okay with me. And it's kind of hypocritical, to include anti piracy software but also include an ad blocker
Sent from my GT-N7105 using XDA Free mobile app
Well not really but since you feel that way I'll be sure to pull ad blocker out of cyanide since it will be shipped with the anti piracy as well. We can put anything in the ROM we want, we build them, we maintain them. The devs on g+ whining about get no sympathy either. Android is open source, not free to steal stuff source. The people complaining because they can't use lucky patcher to get paid stuff for free, well too bad. Soon the only rom with decent amount of features that won't have it is Bliss, have fun with that. Oh and DU of course but not exactly a feature rich ROM. Not bashing du by ANY MEANS, it's just not on the feature level of many others including my ROM. By mine I mean CyanideL not Tesla. Developers include what THEY want in the rom because it's theirs. We do this for ourselves not users. Users are just lucky enough that we share our work because we do not have to share with anybody

Amen, @rogersb11! Since I'm not skilled enough to do what devs do, all I can do is try all these ROMs and use whichever works for me. As I say in my forum sig, you and other devs continue to make my old phone fun to use!
