Questions about bootloader - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Could not find any info using search.
1. Is BL locked in pre-ordered device ?
If answer is YES:
2. Is it unlockable ?
3. Does Sony provide on demand unlocking codes in a way they did for other models ?

All phones came with their bootloader locked, some phones from network carriers will not allow the bootloader to be unlocked. However, if you have a sim free phone then you can unlock the bootloader via Sony site. There is a guide on the forum, it's basically same as Z1.

[Q] unlocking bootloader on my arc

First of all my phone came simlocked from carrier but i unlocked it free cause now on my country every carrier has to unlock sim
so now my phone is simunlocked but it still says
Bootloader unlock allowed: no
So iam kinda confused, can i use this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034087
or the only way to unlock my bootloader is via test point?
thanks =)
Asked and answered... SEARCH.
SIM/network unlocking and bootloader unlocking are completely separate and independent.
Carrier-branded phones are ONLY bootloader unlockable through the paid method.
Guide, Frequently Asked Questions:
if you only wanna unlock bootloader .
you can proceed this way .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034087
if you wanna remove simlock too then see BluechipJ reply .
offcourse simlock removal is paid .
Contact jinx13 can unlock sim and bootloader

Bootloader & SIM Unlocking:
PLEASE NOTE: The ONLY WAY to Sim Unlock your Phone is to PAY for it, so do some Googling and read which services have been recommended in the past.
- Know Your Android Bootloader - What it is and Why it Matters
There are three ways to Unlock yours, the Standard/Official method (For SimFree/Un-Branded Phones) which is explained HERE, (PLEASE NOTE! - You loose DRM when using the official method but not with the TestPoint) but if your Phone came from a Carrier then chances are (99%) you won't be able to use that method. There is a simple method of checking if you can or not which you'll find HERE.
Standard Unlocking:
Then there is the TestPoint method...
TestPoint Unlocking:
Two members - Alejandrissimo or Jinx13 offer a Remote Service which isn't free, but cheaper than anywhere else on the net, and when you take in to account you will also SIM Unlock and retain DRM using the Remote method it's worth it.

AW: Unlock bootloader not allowed, what to do.
Try flashing a global / european generic firmware with flashtool. My phone had a branded t-mobile firmware with the same problem. Flashing a global genereic solved the problem for me... No problems so far..

Hi, in January you suggested using Alejandrissimo to unlock my xperia.
Do you know if his service is reliable and do you know anyone who has used his service?
Cheers.

Would this work with tmobile xperia z? I'm willing to pay someone to unlock my boot loader
what about bell xperia zl c6506?

sim free but locked BL

hi
just got an Xperia S noticed that its sim free but the bootloader unlock statue is not allowed on the service menu, any thoughts guys?
Bootloader and SIM unlock are two entirely different things. SIM unlock just allows the use of different carriers while bootloader unlock allows for changing system files otherwise locked from being accessed or changed and stops the use of fast boot.

I bought it used, I thought as long as it is sim free, it was bought contract free so it should be factory bootloader unlocked. How to enter fastboot mode anyway ?
If bootloader unlocked allowed = no it means you cant unlock it

If it was baught from a mobile carrier , most likely , it had been simlocked and the user either sim-unlocked by himself or from carrier... then it could be bootloader not unlockable... check by entering *#*#7378423#*#*.
im having the same issue... i will call the carrier to see if i can send to hell the warranty a little bit..

[Q] Does this method unlocks bootloader on "unlook bootloader: NO"?

I apologize if i repeat the question, but recently discovered this site:
http://w**w.unlockroot.com/
Does this way it is possible to unlock the bootloader on xperia s blocked?
And then do consseguir root?
Attention: my xperia s is referring to the "no" in unlok bootloader!
If your boot loader says no, then it can not be unlocked anyway possible. If it can root maybe it will.
Edit: it also conforms on the website that if your device say bootloader: no, then you can't unlock it.

you must go to Sony's Offical page to unlock the bootloader
all third root tools cannot unlock Sony's bootloader in the root progress
(except the root tool suggest you to enter the bootloader-unlock key
(sorry for my poor english

Not entirely true... When it was launched some dealers had access to Sony certified Servers and they could unlock the bootloader status.
The problem is that Sony closed the servers and since then, only Sony can do the change.
So, to get clear: at this time, only Sony can change the lock of the boatloader authorization to Yes.
To do so you have to contact your carrier or Sony in your country.
It is not impossible, but it's only available trough the official channels.

Unlock simlock=unlock bootloader
Mine is SIM unlocked and the bootloader isn't unlocked had this question loads of times in the x10 forum and it doesn't do anything to the bootloader as that's just for custom kernels to be flashed if you unlock it via the guides on here SIM lock has nothing to do with the bootloader as the bootloader only runs the operating system boot it has nothing to do with the SIM lock protection wrote into the firmware that carriers put in as an insurance to them so you have to use their network but it can be removed via an unlock code that you enter with the new SIM installed

My eyes!
so... what should I do?
Go to a mobile shop and ask for SIM unlocking or you can search the net for unlocking sites either way you will have to pay for the SIM unlock. And don't worry about the bootloader as it will not unlock that.
