Is...
it in the right place?
the desc.txt set up correctly?
it named correclty?
bootanimation.zip support enabled in your rom?

Yes it is in the right spot. I am running The People's Rom which does have a boot animation and I did change it already several times already.

Yes I think the desc.txt is right. I looked at several other boot animations and followed the instructions on how to make an animation as well as let Boot Animation Factory build it and they both failed.

[Q] stuck at splash screen

My phone stuck on splash screen even i have factory reset, please help
Have you got root? Tell something what did you do.
How long have you been stuck? After a factory reset a boot time of 10 - 15 minutes (depending on whats installed) wouldn't be unheard of, if it's much longer than that try pulling the battery to force a restart or my preferred option use
Code:
>adb reboot
and see if that helps.
Right, is it stuck on the splash screen or the boot animation which appears second? Are you rooted? If so which ROM have you got installed? Did this just happen randomly or did you do something out of the ordinary just before?
As Ghostofcain said a boot time of 15 minutes is not uncommon after a factory reset. Of course that would be stuck on the boot animation though. If you havent changed the splash screen/boot animation, the boot animation is the one that has the "Quietly Brilliant" text appearing underneath the logo. The splash screen has only the logo.
yes, my phone is rooted, am using TB fusion 1.19...everything is fine until yesterday after i flashed the kingdom lockscreen its stuck in splash screen....
is there hardware problem?

Probably not, try reflashing recovery from fastboot and that should allow you to reboot into recovery then reflash your ROM.
am able to reboot into recovery... FYI am using recovery 3.0.0.6
the point is am not able to access to my SD card, there is no ROM file inside my SD card....
edit: opss...i forget card reader... will try later..
Even in CWM you can mount your SD card and put files on it from your PC. Its in the mounting menu.

Or push files to it using QtADB

Boot Animation

Please forgive my noobishness. I've been reading and learning and reading and learning and just when I think I learn how to do something it doesn't work at all. I guess that just goes with the territory.
Anyway, I was running the Blazer ICS rom but I recently flashed the Blazer 4.0 to check it out (it is AMAZING). I wanted to see if I could change to boot animation. The rom came with the generic Galaxy S2 animation. I have the jellybean animation and a transformer animation on my sd.
I flashed the jellybean animation in recovery and when I rebooted it showed a split second of it and then was just a black screen until the phone booted. Unhappy with that, I flashed the transformer animation and then when I rebooted it showed the same split second of the jellybean animation and then was a black screen until the phone booted.
At this point I decided to just screw it and attempted to go back to the generic animation that came with the rom. I went into system/media/ and in there was a zip of the JB animation and a zip of the Transformer animation. I deleted them both and rebooted my device.
This time the phone booted with an animation I'd never seen before. It was just a basic android logo that shimmered left to right. Where in the heck did that come from? Can someone please enlighten me on how to get an animation file working properly?
I thought I read somewhere that you can place an animation file in media/ and rename it, or something along those lines. Should it be a zip file? Should I delete one of the two "samsung boot" files? Which one?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Update: I figured it out. There was an extra boot animation zip in media/ that I didn't see. I deleted that and dropped the Transformer one in there and renamed it "sanim.zip". Works perfectly now. Thanks.

For replacing bootanimations yes you are correct, just rename the animation.zip to sanima.zip and delete the other boot animations that are there. And Blazer does have custom boot animation support so, you should be fine. That android logo you saw is a default boot animation when you don't have a custom one installed.
awesome glad you got it working.

I changed my boot-animation.zip in system/media
It changed no problem, but when i reboot the phone it has this "ANDROID" bootanimation that looks as if its the default.

Try using Fix permission in recovery. That helped me.

Change LG screen on boot

Just out of curiosity, how do you change the boot screen where it shows the lg logo? I know how to change the actual boot animation, and I've done it, but I hate looking at the lg screen every time I boot up. I've also used to freegee to install cwm on my E980, and I'd like to also get rid of the secure boot error message on boot.
thanks

You dont need cwm to change the boot screen, You just gotta be rooted and Download a Root explorer from the market and nav to /system/media and you will see it.
And no there is NO way to get rid of the secure boot error unless you get rid of cwm..
I think he means how to get rid of the boot logo, not boot animation.

Boot animation problems....

So a few months ago i tried changing the boot animation with rom toolbox pro by downloading the enable boot animation zip inside the app... now it when it boots up it shows the splash screen and then goes black for a min and then goes to the lock screen.... i tried downloading and flashing restore qmg boot animation zip from inside rom toolbox pro and now the only difference is it plays the power on sound now but still a black screen.
Can someone give me some insight without telling me to reflash the stock rom?
Edit: nvm i fixed it ... files i was some how missing "system/bin/bootanimation" and "system/lib/libSamsungAnimationUX.so"
