[Q] Boot loop after changing framework on R800AT - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I went to far with modding, I didn't know when to stop, but now I do.
I have ROM toolbox (pro) and i started modding my phone like crazy, changing boot animations, icons and so on then i decided to change my framework (big mistake) But i still did it anyways all though it said use with extreme caution and i didn't think anything about it so i still did it and I made a backup it said it needed to reboot for it to work so I rebooted it turned on and everything slid the unlock slide and drew the unlock pattern and it froze and after about 5 seconds it restarted, i can do anything but unlock it and make an emergency call, when i tap emergency call it doesn't do anything not even restart, I have USB Debugging on and my backup of the framework is on my SD card, anything else you need just comment and i will tell you

All you have to do is go into recovery and restore a backup. You should still be able to get into recovery.

No, could never flash anything, sorry about not replying right away, I have to wait 5 minutes

How so? Is it because of pc or laptop? Drivers? Or just no want for it?

I do really want to flash one but I don't know why i can't i think it because my phone can't go into fastboot or my phone boot loader can't be unlocked (for free) and i don't want to be scammed, something like that

You can still flash back to stock... If you have the ftf for your model. You will lose what you have but you can always redo the edits you have made.
---------- Post added at 07:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:49 PM ----------
But alejandrissimo is great at unlocking bootloaders. I had mine done ages ago. Can't remember how much but it was worth it.

Is that the only thing i can do or can i fix it without flashing because i dont want to lose everything but i willl if i have to

Only if you had a nandroid backup in recovery... There is a cwm installer for locked bootloaders. I used it for a while when I first got this phone. But that's the only way unless you manually push the old framework back into it then set permissions

[Q] GSM Galaxy nexus Bricked -REWARD

I know i have another thread but its changed. My galaxy nexus is gsm and my brother accidentally flashed verizon stock on it. Now my nexus can only go in download mode and fastboot mode. I have tried flashing stock using odin and fastboot however it goes back to the google logo and just stays till it dies. I also cant access recovery mode because it goes to the google logo. 30 dollars reward thanks
Boot to the bootloader (Fastboot/Download) and give us the information on the bottom. Also give us the link to whatever you're trying to flash. I'll dig up the return-to-stock thread and see if I can't walk you through it. Gotta save that Nexus!
Also it'd be easier if you got on IRC. You can find a lot of us (including me) on irc.freenode.net in the channel #gn so stop on by!
Here's a link if you've never been there: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=gn&uio=d4
Wug's Toolkit???
have you tried Wug's Toolkit???
I've bricked mine for the same reason for flashing a GSM rom alpha state on a LTE Nexus.
All I had to do was hit the restore button. And it was fixed in ten minutes. I was able to save my data thanks to dropbox. Cuz I just so happened to back up my data there a lot by saving my recovery back ups
But your case is different. Use wug's toolkit and ATTEMPT to save your data by using the backup feature. MAYBE u can still recover your apps. Maybe you broke your CWMR and damaged the system.res or something. So just flash stock+Unroot. As long as you can fast boot I think you can fix it like me.
Give it a try if you have not done this yet. And let me know how it out. =p
Hope it works for u just as well as it did for me.

could you gimmie alink for that toolkit
Unbrickable
Also you can't truly brick a Nexus device. ESPECIALLY a GSM variant.
So you can fix this. I'll try to find another way just in case this way fails. but also there is a tool on the right side of the panel do the Wug's Toolkit panel. Never actually used them, but maybe it can make your phone work again without even having to flash stock+Unroot.
But again I'll try to find a another method of how this can be fixed. Hopefully someone has a tool to fix this.

Sorry. XDA won't let me post a link. =/
Since I just registered and all but don't worry I'm experienced with this stuff.
Just type Wug's toolkit v1.3 Galaxy Nexus and it should be on Android Central
. Hope this saves ur $400-$600 google device. =p
Know how u feel on this.
---------- Post added at 05:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:25 AM ----------
This should work because I just read the website and it says that if you flash stock+unroot it should unbrick your device. And maybe an OEM lock is required but your a GSM variant so I dunno since u came out of the factory unlocked.
If you were to fix your Nexus Device u don't have to do your $30 reward.
1. I'm 16. =p
2. Don't have a way of receiving money except by mail, which is a big hassle of nonsense.
3. Just wanted to help since I know how u feel.

sorry i am a little new to forums. yes my phone is rooted and i dont believe i downloaded a custom recovery partiton. to be honest im not to sure what that is... thanks for trying to help buddy.
Ok... By your answers then I know you kinda screwed, but not quite dead... what happens exactly is that you removed the main launcher, the interface between you and the device... if you say that it reboots, not much we can do here be cause we may push a launcher APK to /system/app (generally, there is where the "system apps" are located) and see if phone lives again, but as it is rebooting not sure if it can be done... Have critical info in the phone? If not, you can restore it to factory state!
Here is a external guide to restore the device back to factory state: http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-downgrade-lg-optimus-c-back-to-stock.html
Additionally, you can check some other info in this post (not quite your case but sometimes other problems have some clues to resolve main problem): http://www.cricketusers.com/cricket...tboot-mode-started-udc_start-3.html#post12007

Damn, no fastboot mode (at least you can't boot into it)...
Anyways, there is nothing worst than haven't tried at all... Do you have the Android SDK installed? Check http://developer.android.com and install the SDK; also download a custom recovery from here: http://unleashedprepaids.com/media/MS690/recovery.img... Once done that, remove battery from phone, replace it, in a command prompt (or terminal if using Linux), write this command "adb shell", just write it, don't press enter yet. Connect the phone to the PC and turn the phone on, while booting, press enter to the command and follow the guide here: http://playfuldroidz.com/wiki/index.php?title=CM74OC#How_to_Install_ClockworkMod_Recovery: as fast as you can (copy/paste preferably)... if everything went well, now you have a custom recovery and you can backup the mess the phone is at right now (BACKUP, really, do it)... download and install any new custom rom and you are good to go...
Let me know how it went...
thanks so much havent tried yet but that route sounds like it might work. i am a little confused in some areas but after i read it over and over i will comprehend it a little more. i will follow step by step and let you know how it turned out. again thanks buddy. you brought some light into this dark matter.

No. Sorry, I believe it is just Cwm that allows usb storage in recovery.(I could be wrong) As stated above, install the drivers to try to fix adb if that fails then you may need to take a look at this. Good Luck:good:

I tried that "[Guide] Unroot/Unbrick - flash official factory firmware with LG Launcher"
It seems to see the phone, and all, but when it goes to download the firmware from LG, it just hangs, reading the posts there, looks like others have it hang at the same place mine did...
I think I am just SOL, till someone figures out how to make a tool that will fix this...
I am sure I am not the only one that will accidently wipe everything leaving it in a state where you don't have a rom to flash back on it...
so I am sure someone will make something soon...
till then will just have to go back to my old phone.
Thanks.
I would assume you need to try to get fastboot working, but I have never tried to get into the G2's bootloader. But you'll get ADB - Fastboot working, you will, you just need to keep trying. Try someone else's computer if you have to.

I found it herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 and am in the exact same boat as you. I was about to flash a recovery I made and accidentally wiped EVERYTHING including my recovery image. I'm downloading the Sprint kdz as we speak and please let me know what else you are thinking as a way of flashing that file. I can get into TWRP, stock hard reset mode (which doesn't seem to do anything) and download mode.

You are looking at doing the same thing I am going to try, but when I went to where you download... the only Sprint image I see is a .zip... not a .kdz... and that program they use only recognizes .kdz's...
In reading that feed, they said that in the US they don't use .kdz's... so still looking into that, I have a post in that thread and maybe we can get more help...
But your in the EXACT spot I am in, I can get into TWRP, hard reset, and download

You should be able to, as long as you can get adb to see it, you are good, you can even just adb push a rom over to the "NON" SDCard... and then just flash from TWRP...
The main problem we have is that without a SDCard that you can take out and put a rom on, we are stuck.

Just read the info in the links - thanks for posting about your success. Good to know there's a way out if I get into the same situation flashing a ROM on my G2.

[Q] Whoops...messed up and need to restore ROM...

Hi there -
I recently bought a D851 LG G3 from someone who told me they had rooted and unlocked it using PurpleDrake, but otherwise had left it as stock. I like the phone quite well overall, but the oversharpening on text was really bugging me. I noticed that there's a thread with a fix for that (here) and figured I'd try it out.
First, I installed TWRP using the TWRP Manager app from the Play Store. Second, I rebooted into TWRP and installed the .zip file for the Sharpening Mod. All seemed to go okay -- I got to the part of the Mod asking me for sharpening level, and it finished successfully -- but when I rebooted the phone, it's stuck in a loop where it shows the LG logo for a few seconds, then reboots. Being the bonehead that I am, I forgot to backup the existing ROM before I did this.
So that leaves me with two questions:
1. How do I get the phone functional again? I was happy enough with the previous ROM and am not necessarily looking for a custom ROM, but if there's one that's very stable and that people recommend, I'm open to that. I'm hoping to get Lollipop on the phone once LG releases it, so I'd like to avoid doing anything that will interfere with that.
2. Did I do something wrong when trying to install the Sharpening Mod? I'd really like to get that issue fixed...without screwing up the phone in the process.
Thanks!

Why's that? I did some searching before posting this request -- hadn't seen a way to restore without losing root. If that's the only option, then fine, but I was hoping to see if there's a way to avoid having to re-root it. And I think the question of what ROM to use (Stock or if there's a Custom one that's stable and popular) so I can update to Lollipop when it comes out isn't unreasonable.
Also, even if I do have to go back to Stock and re-root, I was asking if I did something wrong in applying the Sharpening Mod -- so I can fix that issue properly next time. Again, my search didn't show any obvious answer to that question.

Try just reflashing a kernel if u have one on either ur phone or SD card. If u don't, download one onto ur PC (skydragon kernel would be my suggestion), boot into recovery, mount ur phone as MTP device, copy kernel to SD card and then flash kernel.

there is a good bulletproof unbrick method for the op3 using some qualcomm drivers magic, so however badly you mess up with your bootloader locked, there is always a solution... i'd say go ahead and tell us how it went and if safetynet api suspects anything

Great idea! Why don't you try it on your own?
@Dupleshwar, @LS.xD well, ok, i'll give it a go even though i don't need to lock it, i wanted to go back to resurrection remix anyway, so i won't miss oxygen os in the slightest if this goes wrong and i have to make a full wipe. note that i have the beta, am rooted and have flashed stock gapps over this mess of a beta. brb!

well, this was quick! what happened when i locked the bootloader via
Code:
fastboot oem lock
is, it went into an infinite bootloop, always flashing the op logo and then restarting etc. so when i booted fastboot via power+volume up, and did the usual
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
, it told me it would wipe the data, i chose yes and then it just normally booted exactly as before. it left my encryption, all the data, apps, photos etc. intact.
so while you can't lock the bootloader successfully, it is definetly safe to try
