[Q] Please i need help - LG Optimus G Pro

Hey Guys..I`m very confused...
I need help.Im gonna buy a used Optimus G pro(F240K).Seller has sent me a few images of the phone. Can someone please confirm me that this is a genuine original phone bcz there are so many fake versions, replicas and many model numbers to this phone(F240k,F240L,F240S,F975,E988,E985).
I have attached the images..Please can some one confirm this is a original phone or not

I have another favor to ask..I have choose one of these models to buy..Can you guys give me a recommendation on this
These are my choices
LG Optimus G Pro(Used) (300$)
Samsung Galaxy S3(Used) (240$)
Xperia V (300$)

None of your images are working, reupload them. Also, it's usually the best-sellers that are counterfeited the most. Luckily, our OGPro is not that much in demand so I doubt it's a fake one but reupload your images so I can give a better opinion.
Out of the three phones you have listed, I would recommend LG Optimus G Pro(Used) (300$) for sheer value for money. It's a very fast phone with great battery life on stock.

Anyone..?

Yep, I'd say go for it. I just compared the photos to my set, a F240L. The GPro in the pics looks genuine. As I wrote earlier, I doubt you'd run into replicas of the GPro. The various models are for different markets with Korean F240 having an antenna (visible in the last photo).
Remember, you might have some annoyances like roaming reminders and SMS character limits on the stock F240 ROM. I installed G2 V5 ROM on mine and the phone's perfect now. Feel free to ask for help later when you get the phone.
Try to see if the seller is offering the spare battery with dock charger that the Korean GPros shipped with. You might offer him $15 extra for that. That would really sweeten the deal.

Thank you very much
the price i have stated is only for the phone. He said this is F240K..so its true then right..
If i have to pay another 15$ or so for the rest it would still be a good deal right?
Since you are the only one replied to my question while thanking you very much for that im also asking about this..
How is the software, developer support ?Any kitkat roms?
Are there any good roms(like cynogenmod) for this version?

About the battery, It's highly likely he doesn't have a spare to give. I got one with mine and it's very convenient to swap them out when on the road. So yes, if he says he can provide a spare original lg battery with a charger, then it's a good deal even with the extra $15.
There is a decent number of kitkat roms available but the custom ones have a few glitches. I just went with the G2 V5 and I'm happy with it. It's stock based, 4.1.2 and is very stable. But do not expect major development for the GPro, if that's something that's important to you, a regular stream of updated roms, then I'd suggest you choose a different phone.
Good luck.

2x1900mAh Battery + Wall Charger = £10.25 free p&p

Thought I would share this nice find.
I wasn't too sure about it, however the seller confirmed they would work, so i took a punt.
1900mAh Battery x2 + Main Wall Charger for Samsung i9250 Galaxy Nexus
They fit perfectly in my O2 UK version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus
One in my phone right now, the other in the wall charger.
So they aren't NFC's... but I am thinking a tenner for two batteries and a charger, cant be bad. I'll keep an eye on the charger so it doesn't burn my house down.
I am running a calibration using Battery Left PRO, to see how it compares with my stock battery. My stock has 25hrs full life

Thanks for sharing this find! Does the battery fit into the GSM version as-is or does one need a special cover? I am asking as the normal battery only hold 1,750mAh.
Nice find for those who don't plan on using NFC. Let us know how well they work.

Will do... I am using one now, and as I said, calibrating it so I can see how much they hold compared to my original
Thanks, for the post, I'm interested in knowing if they hold as long as the stock battery or if they just printed a 1900mah on it. There's another ebay ad for a 2300mah which looks exactly the same as the battery here. I'd be surprised if they can get that capacity without increasing the size of the battery.
Of course for the price, I'd just be happy if it had the same capacity as stock.
Definitely need something like this, I couldn't care less about NFC at this point.
early rough calibration, is telling me it has at least as much at the stock.
I plan to calibrate them both, and i do it thoroughly until "accurate" so it'll take several days.
but i shall report back
defo this it was a wise investment at just a tenner
Wonder if they will work on the USA LTE version

Any day 1 updates?
day 1 update is...
it is at least as good as the stock, however i think it maybe better.
Although saying that I haven't really caned it yet... so hard to say.
I would confidently say that it is on par with the stock AND two batteries... and a wall charger (which is very useful) for £10!!!! I would recommend it

[Q] will there be a good replacement in 2012?

I love my phone but it.s getting a little old
i hope they will release a new good qwerty phone this year.
my wishlist is
bigger screen amoled, it doesn't bother me with the size
better hinges
more power, a real top of the line phone, with hoppefully the same overclocking capability
hdmi out for emulatorgaming
better and faster camera, the focus suxs
and a thick phone with a decent battery, none of this ultrathin crap
ARE THERE ANY PLANS THIS YEAR FOR SUCH A PHONE?

Na, like with the desire z, i'll just wait until the first blond 14 year old girl buys it and then don't know how to use it, buys a iphone instead then sell it to me for little or nothing
I payed 210usd for this last year, almost new :0
(Tapatalk, phone)
I'm also wanting to upgrade this yyear, probably going to get an android tablet next month, in which case, if there isn't a decent phone similar to this by july, ill wait for an iphone 5

the droid 4 looks like they have the right idea, but its to thin, and i dont like when they waste so much space on the front, no need for buttons,
and i dont like when they make some parts of a phone thin and others thick.

bigger screen, bigger battery and this would be mine
As I've said in numerous identical threads, get the MyTouch 4G Slide. We have overclock, our ROMs are mostly Sense-free with CM9 around the corner, and there is no hinge problem.
I don't think mytouch lineup is even available here.. its ugly anyway. Droid 4 would be the phone to get atm, but i'm fine whit DZ for a year more @least..
For more power i'm getting android tablet once the new ones come out. Probably transformer prime, but first, i want to see whats the Lenovo tegra 3 tablet. I would like a proper stylus enabled tablet.

The MT4GS is less than five months old and still a top-of-the-line device that's beaten the Galaxy Nexus in an Antutu benchmark test.

[Q] Are the devs coming?

I bought an Lg Optimus G E971 to tide me over til my nexus 4 showed up. It's here now but I don't see any reason to unpack / use it except for the fact there is huge dev support for it. Think we're going to get anything for the Optimus?

Sorry, coming from the world of Samsung devices where the development forums are MASSIVE this seems kind of weak.
Optimus G is not just a pretty rare device, but unavailable in half world for sale yet.
I guess I'll kick in my dev skills into high gear with this phone. Love everything about this phone and plan on keeping it for a while

The phone's been out for 2 months.. Or a month. Don't remember. But coming from the Nexus 4 forums and SGS (2) forums, this is quite a disappointment. I think it's due to the fact that LG's reputation isn't that good, and a lot of people are overlooking this phone because it's simply not as popular as the SGS3.
Probably a lot of truth to that statement.. shame too because as someone who used several of the more popular phones I truly find the LGOG to be the best of the bunch.
Either way I feel like this phone is more than worth the wait for different development..
I could lay on a hand on it but i don't have optimus g.
I bought my HOX instead LGOG because there's no official set over malaysia and i needed a daily driver.
As now LGOG is able to be unlocked bootloader and already have cwm.
I can contribute porting CM10.1 (4.2) and some other's work.
Just require some details as for sure.
-system partition info
-a copy of stock boot.img
-can it be restore via kdz?
-some tester that not afraid to brick their device
I hope to help.Such a beast but lack of dev is just a weird thing over here.
Maybe it's quite rare and hard to get over other's country such as M'sia.
If community can get dev a phone that will be lovable but work come first.
Cheers

Hey thanks for your help, CM10.1 dev has already begun in the development forums. Mostly everything works except for capacitive buttons, wifi and nfc.
If you can discuss with that team you might be able to find what you're looking for. I can get you partition information though I'm just wondering HOW to do that. I can also upload stock boot.img and yes it can be restored via KDZ.

I think that this device is not very widely available at present so development will initially be slow. Having just searched eBay i managed to find one device for just under £500, i paid £420 2 weeks ago off eBay. I think the device release will be very limited and dont think it wil hit UK shores at all. The people who have this phone in any flavours shou be grateful and just go with the flow

Not surprised... Everyone wants the SGS3. Plus so many different versions doesn't help either. I'm having trouble trying to sell one on Kijiji for $400...
I looked on kijiji and found maybe yours, maybe another, I'm just wondering why do you want to sell your optimus G ? some battery bug ? Some preference for another phone ? Anyway, 1. I'm on koodo so I need the e973 model, 2. I need to get some money after the holydays before I buy that phone

[Q] Just got a Galaxy Nexus....

Just curious if the attached image is about what I should be expecting in terms of battery life. The screen seems to draw a lot more than I'm used to (then again this is my first experience with AMOLED screens).
Also, for those who have rooted and installed cm or a similar custom ROM, would I see a significant difference if I went beyond the stock firmware?
Thanks very much!

That's about on par with what I'm seeing. But really it is going to vary by user so there is no answer. I always have data and wifi off so it lasts me all day at work. But aside from that this is the wrong forum for this.

To find your actual screen on time: go to the screen you were at when u took screenshot, and then tap where it says "Screen".
It will bring another screen up with information about how much total time the screen was on.
The galaxy nexus(especially toro due to its LTE/CDMA radio combo which is also very draining on battery) is not going to ever give you stellar battery life. I HIGHLY recommend grabbing yourself an extra battery (or two lol) to carry around like I do. They are small enough to throw an extra in ya pocket or wallet when you go out. And will give you much peace of mind in knowing that you have a full backup battery with ya.(also, at this point these batteries even OEM Samsung ones are VERY cheap. Even the OEM extended battery.(2100mah))
I will also go ahead and recommend grabbing yourself an external charger.(If you want, I can link you to the one I purchased long ago, it is official Samsung one, came with an extended Gnex battery and charging cable. And can ALSO be used as a stand for device, I also used to use it as a perfect little stand for my nexus 7 tablet.
I personally have 3 batteries(1extended OEM, 2 regular OEM, I USED to have ANTHER extended OEM one but I dropped it in a puddle lolol) and they are well worth the money especially beings as now they will be even cheaper than when I got em.
Let me know if you'd like the link to the Samsung external charger/battery combo I got.
ALSO:
WELCOME to the forums! Just remember posts like this should go in the Q/A or General section, development sections new thread posts are for ROM/kernel/development topics don't be discouraged if your post gets moved
You MIGHT want to try a custom kernel to see if you get better battery life(and probably performance also! Bonus!) you can use kernels from the Galaxy Nexus Android Development section. You do not have to use only the ones found in the VZW Gnex forum. But for a ROM, make sure to ONLY use the ones from the Verizon Wireless Gnex section. Kernels will work on any variant, ROMs are NOT interchangeable (you will prolly end up having to flash stock factory img thru fastboot or toolkit if u flash wrong ROM variant. But that isn't so bad, very easy)
Sorry for such the long reply, just trying to make your transition to the Gnex world easier hopefully
Wow. Could I look like more of a noob? Don't know how the post got here, I thought I specifically put this in Q&A. At least this explains why I didn't see my post show up there. No worries, I think it could be Tapatalk anyways, cuz now Tapatalk is showing TWO of this thread here and one is showing all kinds of </br > junk in it. It acts up sometimes(gotta love how I paid for the first Tapatalk paid app, which is now free and ad supported I yhink, AND I purchased this Tapatalk HD/pro(?) Whatever they wanna call it now, ONLY cuz I figured okay maybe all the updates won't constantly break functionality like they did on previous app since they overhauled a lot of it. But yea....I mean it works good MOST of the time but they only JUST fixed the INSANE lag from large posts that have a lot of thanks(see v6superharger thread as example, used to be gawd awful scrolling the first post...prolly still is lmao... Just wish mobile browsing wasn't so horrid most of time or another COMPETING app to push development to be better. Though I'm sure its tough to try and get these apps nearly prefect with ALL the constantly changing forums they support and such....BUT...that's an AshRants for another day...lmao sorry I ramble a lot.)
Even tho battery life for toro(vzw gnex) really leaves something to be desired, the device is EASILY one of the funnest to own and tinker with. SO MANY CHOICES makes finding "that prefect setup" a LOT of fun. And the kernels available are just stellar.(I highly recommend one of the most active as of late either DirtyV(by @bsmitty83 I use his smittyV builds personally), Fancy(by @boype ) or HybridRemix( by @Pattyboi I think I spelled his name right..he has taken over maintaining and pushing updates to the stellar ASKP kernel with his own tweaks added in) things have never been dull in development for Galaxy Nexus but have also just recently gotten pretty exciting for users and devs alike. And the community (as you can probably already tell) has become one of the friendliest around. And there is TONS of info all over in here. Lap it all up, and have fun!

Thanks. I'm really looking forward to reviewing this phone, as I liked Infocus' previous phone, the m810t.
Hey guys, keep an eye on the Russian forum here as well, as there's usually lots of info on this phone at 4pda as well.

EDIT: Mods, didn't see anything in the rules about posting other forums, but if it violates any rules, feel free to get rid of it.
A lot of confusion about m808 vs m560 vs V5
I found on a Taiwanese FB page that someone has a root method for m808, but it didn't work on m560.
Watched your unboxing video of this phone nicely done. Can't wait to watch the full review sequel

no as it hadnt been set up when i booted it up.
I now have kingroot installed so if i factory reset will that erase/cause any problems?
using kingroot it seems they are listed as system core app modules"
i havent deleted them as i dont know what they do and it might mess up the phone. i'm trying to get titanium backup pro so i can freeze them to check before uninstalling but i keep getting error bm-cpe-13 on google.
out of interest where did everyone acutally buy their m560?
i might buy another in the future so would be handy to know a trusty seller

I bought my Infocus in GearBest. Quite fast transport (about 3 weeks), everything was ok.

Did you get gold? It seems to be more common and easier to buy. I have gold but want to buy a silver too but can't find many places that have it? I also can't justify buying a 4th phone lol

The Infocus M560 has been released! It has an MTK6753 processor and costs $110! I'm personally excited about this phone because I had the Infocus M810t, and that phone was a really good phone, so I have high hopes for this one!
