I'll start off...
Missing that search button key on the bottom from the SGSII? Have no fear, just press and hold the menu key, which acts like the search key
Annoyed of the home button lag? turn off double tap to activate S voice within that program and your home key will be much more responsive

10.In app drawer > widgets, Sammy added a widget to use flash as a flashlight, and a widget to turn the entire phone into negative colors.-Zoidpilot
11.You can set the brightness in the majority of stock apps (i.e. the browser) to be app specific, instead of just setting a brightness for the entire system. For example: set the brightness to auto in the system settings, then open the stock browser > brightness and colors, and set it to high. 29.I noticed that any time you send an email in gmail with our new phones (t-mobile version at least), it puts a stupid T-mobile signature at the bottom of the email. I found that you can change it by going to gmail>menu>settings>e[email protected]>signature and putting in whatever you want.-moonfire711

This is great if you want to quickly show a slideshow of photos or play some media file on your tv/computer.1) Go Settings/More Settings/Nearby Devices 2) Turn on file sharing and change any options you'd like. Since I'm on my own my Wifi network, I just disabled access control, otherwise you have to approve every device.3) Start Windows Media Player. Make sure under Stream "Allow Remote Control" is checked. You should see your phone show up under "Other Libraries" in WMP. Mine shows up as [Mobile]SCH-135.4) Go into Gallery and select a picture. If connected properly, in the upper right hand corner there will be a new little icon with a monitor and some arrows. Touch this and it will allow you to select a playback device. 5) Now the picture should show up in a maximized screen in WMP. Sometimes it takes a good 10-20 seconds. Videos take much longer, but they work and what I got was the first frame, followed by a good 20 seconds of a "Processing" notification on the Galaxy S3. When I browsed from WMP to my phone videos, it buffered for a very long time, so this "processing" notification is the buffering taking place. I don't know why DLNA needs such a long time to buffer over a home Wifi network.6) Whenever you change folders you have to click the DLNA icon again and re-select your playback device. Not sure why this is, seems like a bug...Unfortunately I did a little research and there is no way to physically copy files to your computer through DLNA, you'll have to use other methods.Make sure you turn this stuff off when you connect to public Wifi .-sluzbenik
44.When viewing videos using the stock video player, you can lock the touchscreen by pressing the power button so that the video does not get interrupted by inadvertent touches. This is especially useful if you are using your phone to entertain your baby or toddler. Also works with mx player though haven't tried it with other players -limeaid
45.Do not know if it has been mentioned already, but you can also bring the phone up to your ear and it will call that contact.-ricky babalu

47.Haven't noticed this being addressed but regarding S-Beam it appears that both phones are required to utilize the same app that is involved with the file being transferred. For example, I use "quickpic" as the default image viewer and when I used s-beam to test a pic transfer, the phones connected however my buddy's phone went to the play store and more specifically went to the "quickpic" downlad page. Obviously my buddy's phone required him to dl the app in order to finish the transfer. I then opened the same file via "gallery" and reinitiated the transfer. This time the phones connected and transferred the file without a hitch. -augustorm
48. lock screen shortcuts can be edited on the swipe lock screen go to settings/security/lock screen options/shortcuts click the word shortcuts and not the toggle it will bring up the 4 shortcuts and your allowed to change which app is accessed or what order there displayed in -ironlood
49. Just found a way to substantially increase smoothness. Under Developer Options--> Limit Background Processes. I set mine to 5 and notice a difference -eyecon82
I recently moved some .apk from /system/apps/ like Talkback.apk
Now whenever anything is set in
Settings > Accessibility > Services to On some parts of Explore By Touch are enabled.
So Talkback can be on or Off. But when Talkback is Off,
but I have any app under Services to On, like Light Flow,
then the Explore by Touch menu option appears. Even though it is Off,
it still announces by talk certain actions.
When in any of the Apps menu or Home screen, if you pinch zoom out,
it announces, "Home screen page one of seven" or "The Folder is open"
those are the only things it says.
How do I fix this? If I turn off all Accessibility Services it doesn't
say anything anymore.
Did I break my install by wiping dalvik cache?
I'm not sure how I broke my install, but it used to work with Light Flow controlling the LED,
and without announcing stuff.

I upgraded Talkback. And now I notice that the volume settings for Talkback and Explore by Touch are ignored only
for the error mode of the pinch zoom out situation.
I even hear it say "Workspace 4 of 7" twice, once in the correct volume and once in the loudest volume.
Where is this rogue Talkback installed and how do I disable this??

The com.google.marvin.talkback was an update for Talkback from the Play Store.
How do I find where the Explore by Touch is located.
Does anyone have any idea what ro.whatever needs to be set?
When ANY app is turned on under
> Settings > Accessibility > Services
The listing for Explore by Touch appears (it is assuming Talkback is enabled)
But Explore by Touch is set to Off.
When opening folders or zooming out in Touchwiz on stock 4.0.4
I get spoken messages.
Every trace of Talkback has been removed from /system and /data.

It appears if you ever even run the explore by touch demo, or upgrade Talkback, you have to factory reset... So there's that.

- uninstall com.vivo.pem via ADB App Control
- set notification settings correctly for the apps: (Allow notification, allow smart notification, Floating notifications on (Threema, Signal), Lock screen notifications on (Threema, Signal), display notification details on lock screen, Chats: priority display) // (Home Screen icon badges only for Whatsapp available for some reason)
- set single permission settings for the apps: autostart on, startup on, floating window on, desktop shotcuts on, display on lock screen on, background pop-ups on, Remove permissions and free up space off
- set display settings: show on the off-screen on, show on the lock screen on, show on the home screen on, show in the status bar on, notification method: original icon
- set battery settings correctly: Boost mode, saving mode off, high background power usage on, always on display on, optimize battery life off, auto enable battery saver off

the problem is dark mode. I have the same problem with Telegram. with clear mode no problem.

I turned dark mode off, Threema notifications in the status bar are working like 70% now, sometimes they don't - that's so weird.
Is there a solutions for getting badges? Maybe changing the launcher?
Same problem with Google's Messages app, so can't see when I receive a SMS.
I hope they will fix this ASAP.

2) Set settings of battery/energy usage like in 1st message
3) Switch to bright/light-mode
4) restart phone
-> after doing that, almost 100% of all Threema message are shown as notification. Still struggling with AquaMail, but this will be fixed within next days.

Now at the moment everything seems to work even in dark mode, and even with AquaMail, I just followed this instruction:

I knew that tutorial before. For me the notifications in status bar and home screen for Threema and Signal did not work having dark mode turned on. Switching to the brigth/light mode the notifications work perfectly.
Considering the badges - I get used to it not having badges for messaging apps.
Just for the readers, you can turn on badges on the home screen for the following apps (Origin OS, Dim9000):
- Designs
- Settings
- iMusic
- iManager
- Kuaishou
- Messages

- Recorder

Thanks a lot for your suggestions, but no way to make the Telegram notifactions work...any suggestion? I don't have a sim inside the phone for the moment, but I don't think this is the problem

1) set settings like in post 1
2) unmute chat in telegram (telegram itself)
3) switch into boost mode (battery settings)
4) allow background activity (battery settings)
5) turn off dark mode
6) restart phone
-> telegram is working perfectly for me with settings from post 1 and dark mode turned off. Always restart your phone to get things work. To be honest, this origin os behaves sometimes really strange :/ hope you get it work.

You are right about origin os...thanks again, I didn't put previously in boost mode and I only disabled com.vivo.pem...do you think that disabling is not enough?

To be honest, I do not know. While getting it working step by step I was very impatient at some point, so I can not tell you which setting is really needed to get it working - please feel free to test it step by step to figure out which settings are really needed. I will post my settings again a bit more structured.
The only thing I can tell you: I have uninstalled neither com.vivo.abe nor com.iqoo.powersaving, but with the settings below, uninstall of com.vivo.pem and a phone restart my notifications are working perfectly.
Tested and successfully working with Signal, Telegram, Threema, Whatsapp (Vivo X80 Pro, Origin OS, Dim 9000):
1) uninstall com.vivo.pem via ADB App Control
2) set notification settings correctly for the certain app (Settings/Notifications/App notifications/APP):
2a) allow notification
2b) allow smart notification
2c) floating notifications on
2d) Lock screen notifications on
2e) display notification details on lock screen on

Unfortunately Im already logged in into my vivo account. I disconnected, logged in again and restarted phone...Same outcome

What about your battery settings? Maybe before changing the display settings you need to do step 7) and 8) - but I've no clue why your display settings are grayed out. Have you deleted certain systemapps with ADB?

I tried several things now. Going back some steps and checking again ... always stays grayed out.
I deleted only vivo.pem and some Bloatware. Nothing what has to do with display settings ...
So at the moment I dont know what to do next, but with rest of settings all notifications working for me. Only lockscreen notifications dont show up as well as tiktok notification. But thats more or less OK for me.
If I find out how to change Display notification settings I will share here, for sure.

Good point! If I activate them, I am able to change Display notification settings.
But is it recommendable to have them activated? I thought its kind of too chinese stuff, for being usefull here in europe.

-> telegram is working perfectly for me with settings from post 1 and dark mode turned off. Always restart your phone to get things work. To be honest, this origin os behaves sometimes really strange :/ hope you get it work.

thank for the hint，I think bug in darkmode is the root cause，I can get the notification sound but no visual in notification center, clearmode is ok!
I have reported this system level bug to the PM of iQOO(subsidiary of vivo, they share the same OS) via weibo, hope they can fix it in the later release!
