Unloack your bootloaqder via htcdev.com after this flash Philz recovery 5.15.9 after this go in recovery charge your phone copy custom rom to sd card and flash it don't forget to flash boo.img via fastboot

What did you do to cause the phone to bootloop? Have you flashed something you shouldn't, or has the phone been dropped/come into contact with water?

It has been in contact with water. Very briefly tough....
I cant unlock the bootloader because the bootmenu doesnt stay open long. If i go into it, it restarts fast before i can do anything, and goes into bootloop again.

You've may have shorted the Power Flex Cable. The only way to fix this issue is to order another one, open the phone the replace it.
Keep in mind this would void your warranty, and replacing the cable is a delicate procedure. It can be done though.

thnx for the info, but where can i order this cable?

You can get them on ebay. Alternatively if you google "HTC One X Power Flex Cable" you'll find various sites selling the part.

Yeah i found a site already.
Now i am looking for a tutorial on how to do it...i only found a full assembly video for the HTC ONE X

It isn't so difficult. The most difficult part is actually getting the phone open.
Post here when you receive the part and I'll be happy to help if you are struggling to work out what you need to do.

[Q] How to unbrick my dead boot Desire HD

Hey Geeks,
I need some help and I bet that you could help me!
I ve used the search engine to not post anything someone did before. But there was nothing that could help me.
First I ll describe you what I ve done to brick my Desire HD:
My phone is rooted, S-OFF, ENG S-OFF with CM 7. After installing the new ROM I wasn`t able to install anything from the amrket. So I ve looked up for the reason and tried different things to sovle it. I ve read somewhere that it could help to add a partition to my SD-card. So I ve used the ROM Manager to format my sd card and create a partition.
ROM Manager asked me if I am sure bla bla... you know what I mean. After giving ROM Manager su-permission my phone shuts down. From there on nothing happened. (and still no patition on my sd card).
It`s not reacting to the power button, to the volume-down + power button nor is blinking my LED when I connect it to the USB-Port. Seems like it`s out of energy (but my akku was charged before I ve stzarted with the partition of my sd card).
I ve tried to put out the akku for several minutes. No reaction.
Removing SD-Card before pushing the power button: No reaction
Plug in to charge battery without hitting any button... some hours later: still no reaction
Formating SD-Card: No reaction
Then I ve tried to install the RUU 1.32., saved it on my sd-card, plugged phone in to start... my pc is not detecting my phone.
And now I am helpless
So it doesn't boot at all? Because if it doesn't, you are pretty much screwed...no boot -> no access -> no fix, but I don't believe that you can screw your phone up that badly by partitioning your sd-card.
Unless someone has a fix for this (and the problem doesn't solve itself somehow), your best bet is to send your phone to HTC for a repair, they probably won't charge you anything if it is still covered under warranty, since they can't really check for any modifications if it doesn't boot. It is probably a hardware problem any way.

The fact that it doesn't boot at all is a good thing for send it back for warranty purpose. But if you formated your sd-card, you lost root anyway. You have to make a backup of your SD-Card before you format/partition it, and then copy everything back.
And your initial issue was maybe due to an outdated version of Gapps...
why should he loose root if he formats his sd-card? you have root even without an sd-card.
if nothing helps to get your DHD back to life, you probably have to send it to HTC. but I think it's covered by warranty since it's (probably) a hardware fault.
btw, i think i've seen a thread like this somewhere here yesterday... i'll have a look and post a link if i find something
Edit: found it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013582&page=2
look at page 2. there are some people with the same problem, but there is no solution yet.
But you do have CWM-Recovery on it don't you?
And if, can you get into Recovery?
Had similar Problems, once...
But my phone only showed the white HTC Logo and that was it....
What i did was the following... flashed Revory via Fasbootload from Computer...
Next, i formatted my sd card via computer and copied a new Rom.zip onto it.
In my Case, leedroid.
Next, i just flashed it and it happened to work again, luckily.
he can't even boot into the bootloader.

Hardware fault or not, rooting voids warranty. Let's hope that they can't inspect the internal memory.
Anyway, is the phone reacting to connecting to a proper charger (try to leave it plugged in for a couple of hours even if the LED doesn't light up)? The other thing you could try is to find a friend with a DHD and swap the batteries just to try if somehow you managed to kill your battery.
hi Sleipnir1985,
go back to your shop,
when did you buy it? they must take it for service, or they give you new one.
it is only best solution in this case
if you take battery out for 5! min, then plug it in and hold volume down then push power button - nothing happened, this is it, the end...
cheers/

yes, but HTC replaces your phone if it's a hardware and not a software fault. a friend of mine got his DHD replaced with eng hboot, radio S-OFF, custom rom and so on. and lots of people here on XDA also.
Here`s another mate with the same problem.
I am going to give my HTC to the shop this evening. Push your thumbs that I ll get a new one

[Q] Cannot connect One x to PC

Hey all!
I'm a NOOB!...
I have rooted my phone, following some video on YouTube.. All went fine, then a friend told me to install Cmod 9.. Which would not allow me to boot into recovery. Anyway he did something to enable recovery, which has now left my phone in a state where I cannot connect to the computer.. The phone also has nothing on it to recover to, as it was wiped (silly I know). My question is, is there anyway to force connect to my pc, so I can upload a new ROM or am I completely stranded?
I know there are some pros out there and I would love to hear from you

Thanks a lot my friend!
So for anyone else experiencing this problem
First of all I had no back up, I erased everything off of my phone and when physically connected to the pc, my device was not shown..(Unless I left it at the HTC logo, but only here my device would show up in faded grey in 'My Computer', when selected it would say 'device not ready!'
Once following the steps kindly provided above by Jonas2295 (Thank you)
Flash your recovery.
Boot into the boot loader by holding power + volume down button, until it resets into the boot menu.
Select recovery, navigate your way to ..... + Mount (I cannot remember, you will find it though)
Mount USB Storage
I found that my phone would only show up as a valid storage device on my PC when staying in that setting.. So do no navigate away from the 'mount USB Storage' setting once you have enabled it! Until you have transferred your new ROM on board.
I first used Coredroid, but that kept getting stuck at the beats logo. So I tried 'arhd' (Android Revolution HD)..
Once installing it did not look promising, as it staying at the HTC logo for about 5 minutes, then it came into play.
I now have a working HTC again
So thanks to again to Jonas2295 and hopefully by me asking this question, maybe more silly people like me can fix their HTC's
Good Luck!
You are welcome
Glad I could help you out if this situation!
Enjoy your recovered one x.

[q] htc g2 not rooted semi bricked boot looping please help

Long story short my friend gave me a T mobile HTC G2 because it didn't turn on. I opened the phone to find the part where the battery connects to the phone came off the mother board so i solder it back on put the phone back together and turned it on. It booted up normal and came to the lock screen nothing worked the touch wasn't responding so i push power button to turn screen off and then again to turn it back on and the screen worked. I tried guessing his pattern five time and it didnt work it asked me to sign in to my Google account when the screen came up the phone rebooted and it kept doing it every time i turned it on. So i looked on xda how to restore it tried it and im not sure if it restored or not but it strated boot looping. I tried the flashing the pc10img.zip from the root of the sd card it usually says something like version to new or to old or something it didn't work. My phone is not rooted and i don't think usb debugging is on. Any info you guys want just ask. What can i do? How can i fix it? Please help
I'm going to take a guess, that if the battery connection to the motherboard 'broke off', then it's possible you have other physical issues such as the ribbon cable connecting the screen/digitizer to the rest of the phone.
If it were me I would have sent the phone into HTC for hardware warranty (which you can't do now since you soldered it.).
Can you provide some specific information about the phone, can you get into the boot loader, and if so what exact information do you have there? (USB debugging would be easily turned on under system settings, if you can get into it via the screen).

Thanks for replying i don't think anything else is wrong with the phone all the cables were fine. To begin with warranty was already finished. "Yes", i can get into the boot loader/H boot. have you tried doing a factory reset?
Power button+volume rocker down (volume down button) to boot into bootloader mode then do a factory reset maybe that would work ?

Would probably have to stick to the original Stock RUU update since you're S-ON (would need S-OFF for any kind of custom recovery, kernel, unsigned packages, etc), so would have to use a signed full package from T-Mobile, I don't know much bout that because I usually have my phones rooted and away from stock as fast as I can.
What stock rom did you find before? links?

Thats is the above link i used and i used all the ones that start with "PC10" I rename them to PC10IMG.zip so the phone can recognize it and it did. The only problem is that after it tries to install is say something along the lines of version is older or newer since i tried multiple packages. One package was going through the process and after that it didn't do anything, it didnt say failed or reboot or anything like that. Ive been trying to fix this for like a week and a half now. Ive even flashed custom PC10IMG.zip to see if it could help but nothing the furthest ive gotten is the phone boots for like 2 seconds the screen is blurry and the shuts off and there is an orange light in top right that wasn't lighting up before. Here are the links for the custom packages

You would have to much it to your exact carrier/phone, Just flashing whatever you get your hands on can be very very risky.
For example for me being on T-Mobile with a T-Mobile branded G2, I would grab PC10IMG_Vision_TMOUS_1.19.531.1_Radio_12.21.60.09b_26.02.01.15_M2_release_149459_signed.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971109
(noting the *.15 is the original radio my device was shipped with, though I've upgraded to the newer *.19)
I of course have no intention to returning to complete stock, but it's usually the only course of action for most people stuck with S-ON (and then would look into exploiting/unlocking/rooting again from there).

Same problem, but desire z S-ON
Hey guys.
I have the same problem with the boot loop /semi brick. Expect I never had any problem before, with the phone. I have tried taking out the sd card, starting it agian. I have tried without simcard. I have tried to flash the ROM with RUU_Vision_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.42.405.2_Radio_12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03_M_release_199043_signed
via Hboot Fastboot USB PLUG mode (which was the only mode the aplication was progressing in until it want to restart the phone in bootloader), but the phone frezzes and the aplication on the computer just keep working, without progress.
The factory reset just frezzes the phone.
The only thing reali seem to not frezze the phone is the revocery option. Here the phone react with restart showing a image of a phone with two green arrows bent around, over the phone. then it turns off the display and vibrate 4-5 times, og stays turn off not reacting to anything other then taking out the battery and you can start the phone once again.

flash lastest clockworkmod and you can mount USB from recovery, copy rom and install as normal.

@vorticalbox tweet me
what the latest version i got 5.8.4.0 i think this is the latest but i dont know hot to mount USB :/
Yep that's the latest version. Flash it via fastboot:
Put the recovery.img in your fastboot folder and rename it to "recovery.img", then open a command prompt and:
cd..
cd..
cd fastboot
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Now extract the boot.img from the ROM you want to flash on your PC, and copy it to your fastboot folder and:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then boot into recovery and:
Go to mounts and storage
Choose Mount USB Storage
Copy ROM to your phone
Factory reset
Wipe Dalvik cache
Choose Zip from SD Card
Flash Rom
Reboot and enjoy
If this doesn't work, you'll have to boot into flastboot mode and run the RUU for your phone.
Either way, it's not 'BRICKED'.
Just make sure your battery doesn't go below 30% before you fix it or it will be much more difficult to recover (but not impossible).
It's impossible to totally brick an S-ON One X as whatever happens, you can always get into fastboot mode.
Guys i have problem too. I flashed boot.img with kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1967897 via this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1962428

Ok guys. I almost had heartattack. By holding vol down buttont and power it went into Bootloader mode. I was able to get into recovery and then used venom flasher to change back to stock kernel. Oh god... Thank you guys trying to help me
Dudes, when its stuck in start up logo doesn't mean its bricked. It's bricked when you can't turn it on or go into bootloader. Please don't use "bricked" to describe every problem you encounter please.

That is true. What's more I was stupid enough to flash kernel to totally different phone (One XL). Luckily my stupidity was spared this time.
I hope OP will repair his phone too.
Like I said, it's pretty much impossible to 'BRICK' an S-ON device.
What about If you flash a Ron intended for a different phone, doesn't this change the layout of system positions? Or I'm just being stupid and you need s-off to mess things up like that?

It still cant overwrite the bootloader, firnd you can always repartition by running the RUU

Flash the newest CWM Recovery. Or any recovery with that you can use the option "advanced restore". Now Backup your Rom> wipe everything> restore>advanced restore>restore data only
Here you go
Sry, can one the mods delete this post? My browser is f****** up and didn't show me there are already answers...
I think this qualifies as "bricked"
OK, I am trying to help my sister with her HTC 1X. It will not turn on whatsoever. I hold down the power button, nothing. I hold down the power and one of the volume buttons (up or down), nothing. I hold down the power button and both of the volume buttons, nothing.
I have hooked it up to my laptop because I was able to find some drivers for the device and some files that will allow me to root it, should I be able to get the phone to do anything. Anyway, the only thing I get is a message from Windows saying that the device has malfunctioned and that I should disconnect it and reconnect it or replace the device.
I've scanned through several of the threads but cannot seem to find anyone with as legitimately bricked a 1x as my sister has. I am used to rooting and ROMing Samsung devices and thought I would lend a hand by trying to help out with this HTC device but I cannot get it to even show up in MY Computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I was afraid she was going to have to send it back to HTC. What really stinks is that she's only had the phone for 35 days at this point. Started having problems a couple of days ago and ATT doesn't seem to want to do diddly.
Anyway, thanks for the response!
No worries. Pls let us know the outcome. Good luck.

HTC One V Bootloader/Hboot thingy

I'm just gonna flat out say it, i'm a nooby with this stuff.
Anyways, on with my problem. I went to unlock my bootloader. I followed the steps and a screen popped up and said yes unlock and i clicked it then it reset and now. I can't access hboot, bootloader, fastboot or athing. The phone boots up but it doesn't go to hboot, it's just a fuzzy grey/black screen. I need help
May be out of battery... try charge AC in 10-20s then try boot again if dont work u may go to htc store
R: HTC One V Bootloader/Hboot thingy
That's probably never happened before. The phone boots directly or it stays in the Grey screen and can't do anything?
