The last couple days.. My phone has been acting up when it comes to battery life. First, it charged up to 49% and then got really hot and didn't charge past 48% until I unplug it and shoot it gown?
Second, my phone charged up to 100% so I unplugged it when o woke up in the middle of the night. When I woke up this morning.... It was hot and at 30%. This was only 3 hours. I'm stock rooted... I think it was the YouTube app but idk.

Ok so...I meant "cool it down". I was half sleep when I posted this. But nonetheless, ever since the YouTube app started acting up and FC'ing and stuff, my phone has been acting up. I uninstalled the latest update and I'll let you guys know what happens unless you have an idea now.

Make sure eco mode is on and mp is off

It could be the youtube app, sometimes apps do act up and will continue running/draining your battery. Do you use wakelock detector? It will show you want is running and keeping your cpu from sleeping. If youtube is the culprit - download greenify and force it to hibernate when not in use. Wakelock detector and greenify are both free apps you can find in the play store.
If that doesn't work it may be a hardware issue or kernel issue(as stated above). But checking your wakelocks and controlling them with greenify should be your first step.

Hi everyone,
I got my Nexus 7, so I thought I could ease on the HOX a bit, but I found that something is still running rampant in the backgroundm but I can't find what it is, even using GSam Battery Monitor. Screen has only been on for 25 minutes, and already at 43%!
I used the HOX as mobile hotspot this morning in the train, when I arrived at work, it had 80% left. Rest of the day I only used it for the occasional whatsapp. It's not even closing time for work now, and it's close to 40%, so something is eating the battery, but I can;t find what!
See enclosed screenshots, I would love to hear some advice!
Kernel, but who knows why?
Also, your crappy mobile signal on the way to work when you had no WiFi... It didn't like that much.
yeah I can get into that, but I don't get why, at the last part, the screen isn't turned on, but it the kernel is switched on ALL the time, I guess something must be running rampant in the background. I've just started going to apps and force stopping a lot of things to be sure...
Try using watchdog, it tells you which app which above threshold, gsam never tells u what the kernel was upto. U can also try better battery stats and check kernel wake locks.
ViperX Goodness
Thanks, I hadn't heard of watchdog yet, installed it! I will buy better battery stats when things get really out of hand

How about screenshots without the volume indicator? You can also try GSam Battery Monitor from the Play Store, to get a little more information on what is eating the battery.

Did you install any app after or before update? Main reason for all drain is from app.

What's your screen on time.
Looked kinda like liteflow might be causing problems?
Cell Standby i think is the one that is coded wrong and is lying, ignore that one.
If you press Android System in settings, battery it will show you the top components being used
Also in dev options look for and check Show CPU Usage. It will show whats using the cpu in the top right of your screen. Watch for what stays in the top few spots in the list.
There may have been something that didnt like the update. Try first uninstalling apps and if that helps reinstall them clean, no data restore. If you continue to have problems backup all data and factory reset. Start clean.
If all else fails use odin to flash the full LH2 fw.
LH2 should be a fairly stable build. Most have no issues and many get outstanding battery life. Im willing to bet its either an app or the way you updated or both.

That's really not THAT bad for a screen on time. I saw your screenshots in the OP, and you were down to 80% in only two hours of being on the battery, but you had the screen on for almost an hour of those two hours; 20%/hr for the first few hours is pretty normal. It's not stellar, but I wouldn't say it's an epic drain that being said, I'm sure you could squeeze some more juice out of it, and prob is just an app causing more drain than usual.
Also when doing a screenshot, it helps to hit the power button first, then the volume, so you don't get the volume pop up every time.

3:30 screen on time it's good no matter how you use your phone. I got 2.45 hours on screen with 1day and 6 hours. I've had issues with liteflow and battery as well. Others say they don't, it seems to depend on how you set the phone and liteflow to work.

I'm kind of confused on how to read certain functions in better battery stats. I was using battery calibration but was told in certain posts it's no good. I'm confused on how to read the kernel and partial wakelocks. I've read the "how to" section but still confused on how to actually read it.

Post your results and I am sure someone could offer help. I used better battery stats for a while. It is a good program .
Apps listed under partial wake locks are waking up the phone to do stuff while the screen is off. The less partial wakes the better idle battery life you will get. So for example if you stream music for 30 minutes you will see your music app listed there as partial wake locking your phone for around 30m.
If you use Google now, there will always be several maps related items. Basically look for things near the top of the list and then if those items have options to reduce their sync time then that will help.
As an example, when I install facebook, it showed up near the top after several hours. I went into the app settings and changed the refresh time from 15min to 4 hours. Now facebook is low on the list and causes much fewer wake locks. Make sense?

Here is mine today. 6 hours off the charger, overnight, while I was asleep stock kernel. Wifi on.
Here's mine from yesterday with the LeanKernel-JellyBean-imoseyon-droidroidz-USC_v2.1 Kernel, so you can see, the kernel is not the issue
The custom kernel actually shows faster battery drain than the stock kernel 12.4% per hour vs 9.7%

Yeah, I ran the custom for 2 days, and had really bad results, even tweaking voltage, etc, then went back to stock last night.
That Wake-Lock is Google Services. But what can I kill in there??
Network Location
Google BookmarksSync
Google Contacts Sync
Google Services Framework
Google Play Services
Google Account manager
Is all listed under Google Services. I guess I can just turn WiFi off at night, but I never had that Problem on the Evo.
I can also turn Sync off. That might help a lot

Partial locks just refer to temporary wake locks. Apps will create partial locks while they are in use. For example, if you're streaming video, then your media player app will create a wake lock to keep your phone "awake" until you pause the video (usually) or until you exit the application

Try running Wakelock Detector to see what is causing it not to sleep and using Titanium Backup to freeze whatever it is, see if that solves your problem - if it does, either remove it or selectively freeze and unfreeze using TiBu.
I'm guessing at least some of it is your apps automatically syncing.
You really do need to provide a bit more info though. How bout a screenshot of the main battery screen, and tell us the total screen on time.
Better Battery Stats may help you out as well.

I'll try the wake lock detector. This is another screen shot from the same battery life. Now down to 6%. Screen tube is around 1 hr 50 minutes. The last post of the photo is cut off but it's maps amd media servers.

there is something weird going on with the battery after updating to .283 . i tried to investigate this with the help of wakelock detector and apperars myxperia and update center are eating up lot of battery. froze them and so far so good.
Froze those as well and still massive battery drain. Checked the battery usage and it seems the OS is the culprit. Any suggestions?

Download BetterBatteryStats (there's a free version on XDA)
You can get a decent amount of information regarding wakelocks, partial wakelocks, alarms, etc..
There's also the possibility that your battery could by dying, if you want to know for sure either use something like BBS or reflash/reset to factory.
