Hi,
Before I ask the question I would like to apologize, in case this is not the appropriate location for this thread. I tried to search via XDA search for my question but I don't think I found the answer, but maybe have a sort of an idea about it.
Basically my question is:
My friend gave me a T-Mobile Samsung S3 (SGH-T999, 4.1.1), and he was asking me is it possible to get Arabic as the system font instead of the default English?
From what I did via my research. I discovered that I need to root and install a custom rom, if I am not mistaken. Is this the only way to do this, or is there any other method of doing so?
Furthermore, can I be linked to a tutorial, or step by step instruction on rooting the device on this firmware.
I appreciate everyones' assistance.
Thank You!

Hey everyone!
Right now its in chinese and I would like to change it to english.
I know its something to do with flashing it with an english rom but i need to know where to get the rom and step by step procedures in doing so.
Thanks in advance!
read the "read first" link in my signature, it explains all the steps necessary to perform the upgrade including download links to all programs necessary, also, all the recent roms available are linked there and you can give them a try, also there are basic must have apps around the upgrade process, like backup and stuff like that. hope that solves all your upcoming questions as well

All of your questions apart from which update .zip to use have been answered many many times before.
Your question about the update.zip does not give enough information for anybody other than a mind reader to answer.
I humbly suggest you get used to the advanced search feature on this board it`s great and you could of answered all your questions yourself.

Hello everybody,
Sorry for asking a question in my first post. I searched a lot in forums also googled to much about my question but didn't succeed.
I checked out all guides, wikis, forum posts and i rooted my DZ. Installed lots of roms. And i backed up my stock rom. But now i need to send my phone for a guarantee issue and my backup has been lost due to a hard disk failure. Thats why i can't install the original firmware.
The question i'd like to is "Can i find 1.83.468.2 RUU?" or "Does someone has the backup of the original Turkish ROM for DZ?"
Thanks in advance.
Hello guys, just want to apologize in advance for being an Android noob.
I need help getting my dad's AT&T S3 to run in Chinese. I've searched and haven't been able to find a solution. My understanding is that I need to root the phone and then flash it with a ROM/firmware. Im having a hard time finding out which firmware includes the language and I'm not sure if the international firmware (I9300) works on the AT&T version. I just need the basics to get his phone with a Chinese UI and nothing else. It would be great if someone can point me in the right direction.
If you're talking about chinese keyboards, you can download them in the market. Most of them are pinyin based and handwritten ones are harder to find. If you want the language on the phone to be chinese, it involves gettig root and going into a xml files and removing the locale codes, someone also made an app that does that but still requires root, and all you need is stock firmware. It was posted in this Q&A forum a while back but you might have to go back many pages before you find it, I dont quite remember the title but it had either Arabic or Hebrew in the title.

Thanks! I want the language on the phone to be in Chinese. I'm not sure what you mean by stock firmware. Do you mean the current firmware on the phone? Or is there like a stock firmware that includes multiple languages. Could you give me an example?
Yeah, stock is the firmware that the phone ships with. Since I haven't touched any of the custom roms, Im not sure myself if the devs would add the chinese locale specifically at all. So say for my S3 on Rogers, the most up to date DLK4 if I remember the firmware code correctly. Took me awhile to refind this Language Enabler, but remember to root first.

The Rom you need is called Dandroid. It has Chinese and Vietnamese language built in. I install it for my friend who doesn't know English.

Also, do not flash the I9300 firmware. It will brick your phone.
Hi, I am a noob at this but after looking around on the net for a day, I'm already confused...
OK, here's the situation, its fairly simple... I bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE i9305 (UK EE) but want to unlock it.
It is running Android 4.1.2 and therefore "The Trick" doesn't work as it is missing the final option...
1) I have therefore read that I can downgrade it to 4.1.1 and then use the trick...
2) or I could "Root" it....
Which of these is most straight forward. I don't mind Rooting it cos I gather it's not THAT risky...
So far, I've downloaded Odin but don't know what to do with it....I also just want to use Stock ROM and don't know where I can get that... there are too many other ROMs to choose so just want to keep it simple.
Please can someone help?? I realise other people may have asked this question before, so therefore if someone could point me in the right direction and show me a simple and easy to follow guide, I would be most grateful.:good:
Many Thanks in advance!
