Install themes

I've never run into but does anyone know how to install a theme easily? I've only ever done it before by installing Rom but I like this current Rom and just want to get rid of these..thanks guys for being an awesome community.
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
You flash a theme the same way you flash a rom. The theme only overwrites the files that it needs to on the ROM. you need to make sure that the theme you are flashing is compatible. What ROM are you using?
I have a question relating to this: I want to use rovers cm7 nightly theme over cm7 nightly rom how exactly would I do this? are all themes the same if the developer doesn't give instructions on how to install is... sorry if this is a stupid question and thank you

How to Install Themes?

I just rooted with Cm 6.1. Using LauncherPro. I am definitely a noob at this. I was reading through the Theme section and it seemed a little overwhelming with all the different components of a theme. Is there a guide on how to exactly go about installing a theme? It seemed a lot of the ones I saw had it to where you download component by component to get the full theme. Any out there where you just download the whole thing in 1 file?
Thanks!

There are a couple of ways you can find a theme suitable for your rom then flash them if they are capable or you can use metamorph for themes that arent able to flash. Find one that's compatible with your rom and pm me or hit me up on gtalk [email protected] and I'll walk you through it.

[BootAnimation] Nexus Android - Tested on G1

I found this amazing boot animation on the nexus one forums and I modified it for my G1 device.
I have not created the animations, I just modify them as per my choice.
Thought of sharing this on this forum.
Instructions:
** Please take a nand backup - I am not responsible for any goof ups.
a. Copy bootanimation.zip on root of your sdcard
b. Go to Terminal Emulator
c. Type following commands: (Press enter after each line)
su
cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
reboot
It is working on my G1 phone running Ginger Yoshi RC5.1.
***EDIT1- Modified another bootanimation for T-Mobile users.
Hope you like it.
will try , look good
Fantastic work, loving the second one (sbootanimation.zip) only problem is the size, the first and last letters of ANDROID are missing so only see NDROI.

Thanks shadowch31. Check the sbootanimation.zip now, its fixed for D/S phones.
But this is not my animation, so I wont take credit for someone else's work. I just modified it.

So thanks again fella, appreciated.
that's simply awesome, thanks a million
Hey Guys,
I did the following commands and rebooted,
How do I enable this?
Thanks

You don't have to enable anything. When you reboot, you would see the animation after the G1 logo.
I redid the terminal commands again,
rechecked if I uploaded the right zip folder into sdcard.
But it is not working. HTC dream with CM6.1.0-DS here on mine.
Thanks
Heeter
Huh, thats strange, Lets do this step by step:
1. you copied bootanimation.zip file on your root of sdcard. (if using sbootanimation.zip, rename it to bootanimation.zip)
2. you went to terminal emulator
3. you typed su and entered
4. cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
5. reboot
and you are not seeing the animation? let me know if this helped
DOH!!!!
Forgot to rename the sbootanimation zip file to bootanimation.
What a Homer I am...........
Thanks a million, virajss
Heeter
good its working.
I have uploaded some Honeycomb bootanimations: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973924
THANKS!!
Thanks for the port! Very nice work and I appreciate the effort you put into it.
The second one is very very good! Thank you!

CWM for 2.3.3?

Hello guys,
I have 2.3.3.
But i want to flash a theme on my phone with CWM.
But with which file I get the CWM?
Flash Chainfire's rooted JKV kernel v2.6, it comes with CWM.
Is there something else that i can flash a theme on 2.3.3?
And is there a another way?
You can extract the files from the theme package and manually overwrite the current ones in your phones /system directory.
I cannot find the map on my phone.

To get CWM you need modded kernel like Intratech said. So far there are 3 kernels available
Where can i find a kernel? with CWM
You've been a member since 2008 and you don't know where to get kelners from?
God bless your ignorance every kelner has CWM included except the chainfire's 2.2 kelners.
You need a 2.3 kelner look for them in development section.

I'd draw you a map to help you find it but I ran out of ink. Sorry.

If you have 2.3.3 and don´t have CWM you probably have "stock" one flashed with ODIN. Do not use a theme on it! Available JVK themes are mostly just for deodexed versions, like Doc´s XXJVK beta and Darky´s 10.0 RC, not for the stock one!
EDIT: So flash first Chainfire´s CWM, then deodexed 2.3.3 and then some nice theme
With root kernel CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVK-v2.4-CWM3RFS

Official gingerbread and wallpapers

Hello, as we all know HTC update has been trimmed of all wallpapers leaving only 1. Anyone know how to add back these wallpapers? Putting them in /system/customize/resources doesnt seem to work. Any ideas?
Thanks
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You can put them on the sdcard:
/sdcard/media/wallpaper
Does anyone kindly have the official wallpaper set?
Hi guys!
Following on the fine advice about how perhaps to install this official/original wallpaper collection "lost" from the 2.3 update,
does anyone HAVE IT, could LINK it or know where to find it?
I had no success on the HTC DC so perhaps there's a Good Samaritan who might be able to help?
Heaps of thanks, Matt

what wallpaper are you looking for?? The original ones from Desire??
for extracting the official wallpapers simply download the HTC RUU, extract the ROM and than browse to \system\customize\resource. There you'll find the original ones
Thanks Herr HB! Very grateful for your guidance!
Now that I've navigated my way to the system file as you suggested, I realise it is an img file that I'll need to burn.
As to your question..., yes, I'm looking for the original official Desire Bravo wallpapers left out of the 2.3 upgrade. I've installed the upgrade on a Desire that I am passing to a friend and I'd like to add in the range of original wallpapers for him. (only one remains). Any ideas where I could obtain a download file or apk of them apart from the earlier 2.2 rom img I have?
[By the way, the official flashlight apk doesn't seem to work on this upgrade. Any thoughts as to why this might be?]
Cheers... many thanks again for your generous help.
